Now that Digg has seen it, you bet it will. - diggingfornews, on 10/12/2007, -1/+35It would be nicer if they'd finally announce the worldwide release dates for their Wii Opera browser!
- goostoff, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10"All you need is a blog and a digi camera. How hard would it be to submit to that contest?"
If you refuse to pollute the Internet with more blogs, then it's impossible to win. - typo180, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11You have to have internet access and a camera on your phone, plus you have to use Opera Mini Advanced to do the photo blogging.
...and yeah, I thought it said Oprah too. - sooperdooper, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9They mean Republic Day in Burkina Faso, you self-important blowhard!
- sworoc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Opera + Wii = Crazy Delicious
- MattyLite, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Perhaps you didn't notice, but there is more than one holiday occurring around this time of the year. God forbid Opera tries to include everybody!
- blinkfink182, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Way to read the article. You must use Opera Mini's Photo Blogging feature on a cameraphone to enter.
- andydumi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6It will probably be sometime around the time its no longer free, what was it June?
- MattyLite, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6What makes you so sure they're specifically talking about Christmas, and not the holidays in general? I see nothing Jesus-specific on that page. It's Opera's decision to not specifically exclude other religions by saying "Christmas", and deliberately include everybody by saying "holiday". The fact that your login name is "RedNeckerson" doesn't surprise me in the least.
- livejamie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7>> "Which holiday? If they mean Christmas (and we know they do) why can't they say it instead of treating it like a dirty word?"
oh shut up on the whole war on christmas thing, there are more than one holidays at the end of the year, maybe people want to take pictures of their new years as well. - Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Anyone else notice the hilarious pun in the title of the link? Open it up in a new tab so that the favicon.ico loads.
- goodshape, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5@pinata242,
No doubt you meant to say 01/01/07.
But you didn't. - ramunas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5He he, bring the competition on, I'm tired of winning all those competitions :P
- MrObjectional, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3O Snap! Nice catch zippo.
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Not as stupid as dheera looks. If you don't like it, just don't click the link, moron.
- KJSatz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3She already gave a Wii away to a blind cancer patient I believe. Before it even was released.
- debtman7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3
And the photo blogging stuff in opera mini doesn't work on sprint phones, so a few million people aren't eligable... - LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Uh....
Effete
1. lacking in wholesome vigor; degenerate; decadent: an effete, overrefined society.
2. exhausted of vigor or energy; worn out: an effete political force.
3. unable to produce; sterile.
? - pinata242, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2MasterFunk: Sure, 4 weeks from now is way longer than it should have taken, but I'd say a sponsored contest by the makers is a pretty good sign of what we can expect.
- elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Would you prefer that they list every holiday that one might be celebrating?
Even if they do 'just mean Christmas' There will be people who are doing this for other Holidays, how would you feel if the contest was to win a prize for 'your hannukah celebration'? - pinata242, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nope. I don't know why I'd make up a date that wasn't in the contest announcement:
* Submit your contribution by January 7th, 2007
Last I checked, that's 01/07/07 like I said and further clarified with my "4 weeks from now" comment (just in case there's some date format confusion). - Cyber_Akuma, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Bah, I want Opera for my Wii, not a Wii from Opera.
- synace, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Win a Nintendo Wii, no purchase necessary.
Register and login by December 18th to enter.

All you need is a blog and a digi camera. How hard would it be to submit to that contest? - DBiz, on 10/12/2007, -9/+8When I first read this I thought it said Oprah.
What can't she do? - FalconHoff, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Hey, vote for my WCW/NWO REVENGE make-up! Please, I really want a Wii and I can't buy one...
- asdfrewq, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1No, I thought I read that too. But then I realised she didn't make web browsers.
- hiPpymIck, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1@LycoLoco
below - hiPpymIck, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1opera .....refined social event??
but not intended to hurt....
i withdraw my statement - Bega, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1yeah, hit her up and ask for a wii. see where that gets you. hell, maybe go watch her show in person and check under the seats.
edit: whoops, this was meant for DBiz - MasterFunk, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3Pinata you need a, "... NOT!" at the end of that comment.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Regardless, it's Christmas they're referring to, and they should just say it. If they were talking about Hanukah or some other religious holiday, I wouldn't find the names of the holidays or the fact that they celebrate them offensive.
In this day and age when so many talk about tolerance and celebration of diversity, there exists open oppression/suppression of Christian traditions.
That, my diversity-challenged brethren, is offensive and unacceptable. - ziki, on 10/12/2007, -12/+5Am I the only one who thought this said Oprah at first?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2"Be a master storyteller using Opera Mini this holiday!"
Which holiday? If they mean Christmas (and we know they do) why can't they say it instead of treating it like a dirty word?
Such hypocrisy to use Christmas in such a way and then be ashamed to use the word. - letdowntourist, on 10/12/2007, -8/+0I'd rather just buy a slurpee.
- hiPpymIck, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1seems like a shameless and pathetic attempt at publicity to me (on a budget)
CHANGE THE NAME OF YOUR BROWSER TO
SOMETHING LESS EFFETE THIS INSTANT!!!!
you have been told - pinata242, on 10/12/2007, -19/+1Hopefully it'll be near the 01/07/07 end date.
