- Pentagonian, on 10/12/2007, -5/+18is this game ever going to be released, or is it more of a game that people are only allowed to view the almighty Will Wright play?
- MyPlasticHeart, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10agreed. This game needs to come out already.
- ArcticCelt, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6Maybe "Spore Forever" should be their new name.
- woojoo, on 10/12/2007, -14/+1have pacience
- daveisfera, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Ya, does he really need to keep demoing the same stuff over and over again? I mean haven't we all since a demo like this at least 3-4 times now?
- fudgeigor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12We have not been waiting for this game for that long considering its magnitude, and i wish he would stop showing it, he needs to hire Robin Williams to be the official demo person, his E3 appearance was great.
- NikoKun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2man this game does look great... I wish they'd hurry up and release it...
Is it just me, am I hearing this wrong? He seems to be pointing at the galaxy as being the Online universe, that will basically mean you can fly to, and interact with other player's worlds? It sounds cool, although I can't fathom how they are gonna do this... lol and what about power players creating real powerful races, and destroying worlds of other players? XD - imikedaman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@NikoKun
Wikipedia says that the game is "massively single player" and that you don't actually directly interact with other players and *their* race. What happens is that your creature details and planet are automatically downloaded to the other player's computers, and they can destroy their local copy of your planet. The game then keeps track of the stats in something dubbed "alternate reality" mode, like how many times the copy of your planet was destroyed by other players. - NikoKun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2ah I see... Yah I just watched a better Spore demo... the one with Robin Williams, but this one was twice as long and uncut, so yah Will Wright explains that before hand.
Its a cool concept... and he even says you can control what data comes down to your game if you like... or you can just accept everything and make one crazy galaxy. lol
Still I can't wait for this to come out... can't believe it might not even come out till next year... @_@ i hope its gonna be dam good... for that long a wait... - natmaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Currently scheduled for H2 of this year.
- rockchops, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I wish there was a better taping of this demo out there. I can't hear most of what WW is saying.
- Disgone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Its probably hard to hear because of all the noise from the massive earthquake taking place under Mr. Shakycam.
- Excalibur0998, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Wow, this video might actually be alright if the audio wasn't straight up crap.
- xstevenx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13cant wait to create jaba the hut
- artofwar420, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2AND KILL HIM!
- ApeInago, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I can't watch it, keeps lagging out.
- Ruckgesicht, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4YouTube mirror, please. I pause the thing to let it buffer but it does nothing. I press play again ten minutes later and it starts for two seconds and then its back to buffering...
- Zreitan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I think the creationists will have something to say about all this...
- Roksix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I need a version that does not hurt my eyes and ears...
- ZachInglis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If the game version comes out already, you'll have a crappier game than it could be and then you'll complain that it could be better. Stop hating and be patient.
I was using my Olympus Point and shoot style photo camera's video settings. Best I could do.- RussellDovey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1thanks for the film, man. Good stuff I hadn't seen before. Not your fault ye had a tired arm. :D
What makes me frustrated, as a techie, is that it would seem that the image could be made automatically steady really easily when there's a nice bright reference square (ie, a projector's screen) in the image.
- RussellDovey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1thanks for the film, man. Good stuff I hadn't seen before. Not your fault ye had a tired arm. :D
- 247365, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The worst streaming...made the clip impossible to watch...
I prefer the earlier versions, graphically. - DrNoDoze, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Crappy camera work, but here is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXrle98XaIk
Related vidoes may be better. - natmaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ahh, that was a fun keynote. Some new features in Spore I hadn't seen before, and Will did some talking about storytelling that was quite interesting.
- Radardog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I haven't been this excited over a game in a long time. This game really looks amazing.
- icelight, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3For those who are complaining that this is nothing new, there are quite a few new features at least I haven't seen, and I've followed every video out there fairly obsessively. New features included stealth of your critter (and even the existence of abilities like that at all), specific terraforming tools for planets, and the best look yet at some new features while flying around the galaxy (such as all those different star systems at various stages of development). The GDC video that came out a week ago had a whole different pallet of new things as well. Complaining about seeing the gameplay time after time is like whining that videos for an FPS all show somebody shooting a weapon.
- asherp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1 I concur. I was also really impressed with the new character animations. I love how this game almost reinvents the whole concept of computer aided design, so that the devs can spend less time building content and more time coding gameplay elements.
- RocketSeason, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I love the massively single player aspect of this. The one thing that always brings a game experience down is other people. Constant cursing, racisim, sexual behavoir. Thanks, but no thanks. I will just play with my toys by myself.
