- Lososaurus, on 04/21/2008, -1/+84If Hollywood would stop making ***** movies, maybe I'd put down my awesome games and go to the theater.
- bigmacur, on 04/21/2008, -1/+40$15 = fun for approx 2 hours.....
$60 = fun for approx a lifetime....
hey, its possible.... - sk11, on 04/21/2008, -1/+38There's nothing wrong with healthy competition, trust me, hollywood needs it.
- inactive, on 04/21/2008, -1/+37Maybe i'd go see Iron Man if it were shown in a cinema INSIDE GTA4
- inactive, on 04/21/2008, -6/+36Nah, they will all put down their controllers to go see Iron Man...
- darthbob, on 04/21/2008, -2/+26Hmm...can I fit 2 hours of Iron Man into 4 years of GTA IV? Ja.
- inactive, on 04/21/2008, -0/+22Some of us go to the movies with our hookers.
- afwjam, on 04/21/2008, -1/+21Some of us go to the movies with a girl. two tickets=$15, no hooker required.
- Gregsaw, on 04/21/2008, -0/+16They're just looking for scapegoats. There's a reason people aren't going to see movies as often as they used to. It's because there isn't much worth seeing. The good movies will do good no matter what. Iron Man will be fine. It'll make money. Those greedy pricks won't be hurt.
And the bull sh*t about Halo 3 taking away from Heartbreak Kid? I didn't even hear about that movie until after it came out on dvd when my girlfriend wanted to watch it. And it wasn't any good. Same for most television. - Chris4, on 04/21/2008, -1/+15Some of us just skip the movies and go straight back to their place.
- egghead329, on 04/21/2008, -0/+12Yes. I'm not leaving the house once I get my hands on the game, simple as that.
- inactive, on 04/21/2008, -1/+12First of all, if ANYBODY (even these people in Hollywood) expect me to leave my house after I buy this game...they should just die because it isn't happening.
GTA IV is going to be effin epic. This game is so ***** detailed it isn't even funny. This game will blow San Andreas out of the water - Wicaeed, on 04/21/2008, -2/+13GTA IV went to the movies once, but it only ended up beating it with a bat to get it's money back
- DeadlyCouncil, on 04/21/2008, -1/+11Ok... if it were "Prom night" they were talking about, then yes, they should worry.
But its freaking IRON MAN, then Dark Knight, and an Incredible Hulk that won't suck! What the Hell? - loeki, on 04/21/2008, -0/+10Your ideas intrigue me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
- RSS14, on 04/21/2008, -3/+13***** off, I read your comments, you contribute nothing at all to Digg. You post random ***** for the sole purpose of spamming us with your website.
- Risingashes, on 04/21/2008, -0/+9An $11 hooker would cause you more problems than they're worth.
- Wilsomatic, on 04/21/2008, -0/+9Well if you see a Lindsay Lohan movie you're guaranteed the cheap hooker...
- RogueJediX, on 04/21/2008, -0/+9The only thing bullying the movies are movies themselves. Stop jacking up prices, stop making people go through 20 minutes of advertising and trailers and most importantly, make good movies.
- WilliamTM, on 05/13/2008, -1/+10Hollywood makes a fair amount of decent movies, but there's loads of ***** too...
- über, on 04/21/2008, -1/+10No way, have you seen the films that are coming out this summer? Wall-E, Ironman, Indiana Jones and ***** BATMAN. The lineup is amazing and nothing is going to keep me from seeing all of those on opening weekend.
- über, on 04/21/2008, -4/+13$15?!? You're out of your goddamned mind. I never pay more than $6. For $15 the theatre had better be at least providing you with a cheap hooker for the duration of the film.
- strictnein, on 04/21/2008, -1/+9The first thing I'm going to do in GTA IV is see if there's a movie theater. If there is, I'm going to kill everyone in it.
- DubiousDrewski, on 04/21/2008, -1/+8At first, that was the most nonsensical headline I'd ever read. But now I know what the hell's going on. And I agree.
- UNDERSTAR, on 04/21/2008, -2/+9Your still paying a ticket, might as well call her a hooker.
- allisonaxe, on 04/21/2008, -0/+6and the first two had storylines? you sure you were playing the same GTA 1 and 2 that I was?
or are you numbering the individual games in the gta3 series (i.e. 3=1, vice city=2, san andreas=3?) if that's the case, you're still wrong. - dfsjdkflasjk, on 04/21/2008, -1/+7Iron Man aside, I'm sure that we have the capability to do more than one thing during the entire summer. Or does Variety really think of us that way?
- inactive, on 04/21/2008, -0/+6Initially, it was that in the summer, it would get really hot. Movie theaters usually had air conditioning, which was very attractive. Studios thus got in the habit of releasing good movies around that time. Also, don't discount the fact that in the summer, kids and teens are free to do what they want. These factors make summer the "Christmas" of the movie industry.
- BulletsforRingo, on 04/21/2008, -0/+6Did anyone else notice that the author of this article knows jack-squat about "vidgames" ?
- luckyguy2000, on 04/21/2008, -0/+5seems like you had a different copy of gta 3 and gta1/gta2 than me Oo
- bigmacur, on 04/21/2008, -2/+7i blame Los Angeles....for charging $15 and not getting me the hooker....
- str1fe, on 04/21/2008, -0/+5Hint: it's not video games that keep us from spending inordinate amounts of money at the movie theater.
- Vaemor, on 04/21/2008, -1/+5You know you can filter out gaming articles in your profile/settings/customize topics options..
- extant59, on 04/21/2008, -1/+5im sure it'll keep me home just like table tennis did.
- inactive, on 04/21/2008, -1/+5In a word, Yes.
(I have high expectations. I had better not be disappointed) - craighoxton, on 04/21/2008, -0/+4Nah, the big studios don't want to take chances so rely on re-makes and formulaic blockbusters. If you're a screenwriter starting out in the industry, I'd say get a job in the video games industry
- antdude, on 04/21/2008, -0/+4You're
- dbr_onix, on 04/21/2008, -0/+3No, cinemas are the same as they have always been. What has changed is most peoples screens at home are no longer 13" fuzzy CRTs that you have to hit every 10 minutes to fix the sound.
- doitintheroad, on 04/21/2008, -0/+3So you have to play a video game for at least 4 hours for it to be worth your money?
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 04/21/2008, -0/+3And Christmas is the other time that big movies are released...
- kurupttek, on 04/21/2008, -2/+4Im so excited!! 8 more days
- isaactwito, on 04/21/2008, -1/+3Look, movie industry, your crappy titles are what keep us away from theaters, not the video games (although they are more interesting usually).
- Twenty, on 04/21/2008, -0/+2I was terribly confused as well. "Will GTA 4 win over hollywood?" is a better title. Less *****.
- guillo98, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1Retarded.
- D4CH, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1In Denmark we pay around 10-15 dollars too.. I wish it was cheaper
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1$10 tickets to go see a crappy movie plus 1000% markup on popcorn and soda is why I haven't been in a theater in years.
- Lososaurus, on 05/02/2008, -0/+1Not to mention branching stories, multiplayer/online play...
- tEhKewleSt, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1Are you like 80 years old or something? Since when have there been active ushers telling people to shut up?
- stappawho, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1"The biz could use some megahits to ignite folks to start going to the multiplex"
This is the problem. I don't need megahits, I need a good movie. That and an usher that comes around regularly to make sure people shut the ***** up. - antdude, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1$9 and 11.50 at AMC theaters (cheap theaters). :(
