- CheckMarshall, on 10/12/2007, -10/+125*Upon purchase, you will instantly be able to call anyone that paid more that $800 for a PS3 a tool....and appreciate why.
- Easty, on 10/12/2007, -5/+51Or you'll realise you paid $600 too much for Sony's my-e-*****-is-bigger-than-yours-mo-tron.
- bobcrotch, on 10/12/2007, -4/+39250 dollars worth of awesome gameplay and just, well, fun > any amount of money for a PS3 (until the new metal gear comes out!)
- Klisk, on 10/12/2007, -4/+38Gamecube was my favorite console ever, am I supposed to be ashamed if I bought an upgraded one with awesome functionality and 3rd party stupport? Trolls are funny.
But seriously, there's more under the hood than 'just' a Gamecube anyhow. :) - Blah_Blah_Blah, on 10/12/2007, -2/+27Anyone notice the ad on the side?
"Win *TWO* Nintendo Wii Systems! (or one 60GB PS3)"
made me laugh. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+26for everyone that thinks the wii is purely a GC with a new controller http://www.*****.com please before you open your mouth. Or better yet, reference Wikipedia.

Wii has a processor that's almost twice as fast as the gamecube and a video card made by ATI, among other architectural changes. Now STFU. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+25Zelda was worth spending the money on the wii for. First Nintendo I've owned since the SNES.
- Reziarfg, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22Eh, must have been a rumor then, I did just look it up, both are PowerPC based CPUs, the gamecube's is 485MHz while the Wii's is is about 730.

"wii fans are playing on a processor core i owned 5 years ago in a powermac"
Right... except they're not. IIRC, the GameCube used a variation of the PPC 750 (which you very well may have had in your Mac 5 years ago -- that's a G3.) It wasn't the same as the G3 though -- it had some different instructions, plus some small architectural changes.
The Wii, on the other hand, uses a very different core. Yes, it's still based on the POWER architecture, but a G3 it's not. Not even close. If anything, it's probably (and IBM hasn't commented on this, so I'm guessing) something like a combination of the POWER4 and POWER5 architectures, with features drawn from both.
Just because two chips have similar names doesn't mean they're the same. "PowerPC" refers to more than just on chip -- it's a whole architecture. (Likewise, I would expect you to call me a dumbass if I stated that a Pentium Pro and a Pentium III were the same.) - Remy_LeBeau, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Your Wii is assigned an e-mail address, (The letter) "W", followed by your Console Number (a 16 digit number), @wii.com. So for instance, if your console number is 1600 4563 9473 0016, then it's e-mail address is w1600456394730016@wii.com. BUT, in order for it to receive emails, you must first register the e-mail address that the mails will be coming from to your Wii Message Board Address Book (go to your Wii Message Board, click the Create Message Icon, click Address Book, click Register, click Others, then enter the e-mail address that you want to receive mails from).
- ReXorcist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15cool, wiister eggs!
- felyduw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13@Microdot
If you prefer the PS3 it's all fine and dandy. Buy it, play it, be happy.
Anyhow, the question here is: Why are you so angry? Does your "peepee" hurt? Looks like you don't like it to dance. Is your apparent ignorance part of your rhetoric or do you really believe that the Wii has the same power as a PS2? If it's ignorance I gladly point out that even the GC was *MORE* powerful than the PS2. Did graphics make the GC a more successful console?
Please stop commenting on any article with Wii or Nintendo on it. It's getting tiresome. - retral, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Nice to know that there's even more functionality in this little gem.
- slantysideways, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11*Sigh* The only secret I'm interested in is where I can get a wii.
- sardion2000, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Reziarfg did look it up and he recanted his statement...
- psylence, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Absolutely nothing?
- shit, on 10/12/2007, -7/+13It will also suck the pictures off your bluetooth phone.
Just kidding, just kidding... - telapan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8"Zelda was worth spending the money on the wii for"
You do realise this is coming out for the gamecube don't you? - terminalpariah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5If they made the e-mail functionality a bit more robust (Bluetooth keyboard support, yourname@wii.com addresses, longer messages, the ability to send photos to e-mail addresses instead of just other Wiis), the Wii would be the ultimate grandma computer.
All grandmas want out of a computer is to look at photos, send photos, and play Freecell. The Wii is *so close*. And I'm sure they'll add card games to Wii Ware in a couple of months. - proudcanadian, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10How rich are your friends! My jeans are about $20!
- Q777, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Thanks
- Charron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3At the Message Board, it's on the cover of your Address Book.
- gweedo767, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9No, the Wii DOES NOT pull any data from Bluetooth phones.
- themayorpwns, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3where do you find this "wii code?"
- istrikelast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3actually, i thought that was kind of a nice feature.
alot of time during slideshow presentations from trips or parties, there's always someone in the room who shouts out "I hate that picture of me! ughh! next pic!", but there's something going on in the picture you want to talk about for a sec. so the censoring is nice.
also, i remember at graduation for college, there was a slideshow we were playing at a friends graduation dinner thing and some of the pics could have used the "you don't need to see that".
what would have been real cool was a magnifiying glass and a laser pointer option.
maybe in later incarnations, we'll get that - ChullDouvre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2'You can place the sensor bar upside down and it doesn’t reverse the directions of your movements…'
Duh. - vagarach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It really does seem like a secret. :(
- Crass22, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5I thought it did though actually, atleast on the newer phones.
- brotherfranciz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"When you get an e-mail, not only does the disc drive light up and pulsate blue, but your Wiimote sends out a little chirp"
That's freakin' awesome!!! - Q777, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5Excuse my ignorance but how do you email to a wii?
- firsttube, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Aww I miss conan o'brien!
- asurroca, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice! I just checked out the Wiimail (has Nintendo patented that one yet?) feature. Tested it with my own and a friend's e-mail, works fine (after authorization). This feature is begging to be hacked somehow.
- Keropipi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@vandread
the Gamecube's video card was ATI as well

- dumpling, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Super allusion to Conan, and good find.
- Bungo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Dugg for the Conan reference!
- farfromsubtl, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5Each wii has a unique 16-digit friend code. Every Wii has it's own email address, and the messages get mosted straight to the bullitin board. The email address is: w################@wii.com. The '#' replaced with, you guessed it... your Wii code.
- dugR, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2awesome, i never took the time to look for these little secrets, I have been playing zelda almost non-stop
- Remy_LeBeau, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5Hmm...that includes one of my posts from the IGN Boards, taken word for word...(about emailing jpg's to your Wii)
- stenk, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3@Remy_LeBeau
Well in that case thanks for the tip! :) - millixaw, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3You PS3 fanbois are just upset that the Wii is outselling PS3, tremendously.
I guess you can go have fun playing, uh... Resistance, I guess?
Maybe NBA 2007?
/tries hard to hold in laughter - Schug, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The embeded ad links in the post is so freaking annoying. It's like having someone randomly scream at me when they're trying to tell me something interesting
- farfromsubtl, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Why the HELL was I dugg down for answering a question related to the story that more than one person has asked?! On my own story no less!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1http://www.duggmirror.com
- Klisk, on 10/12/2007, -8/+6Most people who have cell phones nowadays don't even need 'em. Might as well steal their pictures.
I sold my cell after I realized it was a total waste of money every month. It was a Samsung, at least. They're more fashion/status symbols than necessities. People are getting too excessive with their consumerism.
People complain about the Wii being 250, most of my friends wear jeans that are 299. It's ridiculous. - student69, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4Also when in a slide show you can press up or down on the D-Pad to sensor a small area.
- RandomGuySteve, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0I wonder if thats the real Gfraizer or a big fan.. (or someone that really loves the Diablo April fools reference)
- Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2This is actually the first I've heard of emailing the Wii, I'll have to look into the manual more. Unless you're just talking about using webmail with Opera.
- QueenzTREEZ, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Has anyone checked to see if the Wii does pull pics off phones that have Blue Tooth? I read in another article that it was possible.
- Jaryd2006, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1I dont know where else to ask this so imma ask you guys.
I just searched for metroid prime 3 on nintendos site and its gone.
Metroid prime 3 is nowhere to be seen.
What could this mean? -
