- CapnObvious, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18G4TV is still on the air? thought comcast pulled it and is just running marathons of Star Trek TNG and The Man Show.
- unloud, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I'm not one for saying "old news", but seriously, I know that the wii is popular and is selling well. I'm sure most people do too. Can we please find something more interesting and less redundant to digg?
- Itazura, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3“in its first month since the launch"
Even though we all know the Wii is very popular, exactly how is proving that is "remains high" done by using figures from November? - evilbert420, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5That's funny, every time I go to the BMW dealer I see M6 coupes just sitting there. I guess nobody wants one. When I go to a Toyota dealer I see Camrys flying out the door. Guess the Camry rocks and the M6 sucks.
Sony priced themselves high, and they will pay the price in sales because people don't want to pay $500+ for a console. But I wish people would stop equating not buying with not wanting. I bet if I gave away 100 free PS3s here they would be gone in an instant. - moonshn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2worst headline ever..
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2uberlord...Time WArner and Comcast are not merged. TW did not buy Comcast. They both separately acquired Adelphia and divided it up amongst themselves. In addition, they exchanged some of their subscriber base.
- quami16, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Good lord. Since when has "Welp.. nothing has changed" become newsworthy?
- ahhell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Marked as inaccurate for using G4 as a source. Nothing that airs on that ***** channel is accurate.
- DarkNebula, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Do we really need someone telling us how great the Wii is selling three times a day? No new content, no nothing, dugg down.
- holmes101, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Well, thats a surprise...
- spudnic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Still popular since when? Yesterday? Was it ever in doubt?
- sgtgoomba, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Dug down. I'm as big a Wii fan as any, but this is just absurd. Alert me when there is real news available.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Supersteve...i agree...i did a similar thing with my dog. I left the controller with my dog for a few hours and when i came back I was shocked to find that Fido had amazingly learned how to play Wii Tennis and was beating my imaginary friend bob! it was an incredible experience and one that I will never forget in my life. oh the dog was imaginary too...as am i
- BabyWookie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just because it has the power to amuse a non-gamer for an hour, does not mean that it's the "greatest thing ever" or even the greatest gaming system out right now. Wii is way overrated as a gaming machine. It's kind of fun when you have some peeps over for drinks and you first expose it to them, but it loses its novelty rather quick and you realize that there's hardly anything worth playing out for the system, at least anything worth more than a quick novelty thrill. The only dude I know IRL who has gotten a Wii so far is my co-worker who got one for his kids. The kids wanted a 360 this xmas, but he got them a Wii instead, because he was hoping that it was going to make them more active and because he's cheap. I own a Wii and also bought two additional units by simply stopping by Best Buy before work a couple of times and I sold them on eBay for about $100 profit each. They are fairly easy to get here.
- gmark13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Xbox 360 selling like crazy a year after it's release. Will the Wii be doing the same next year?
- pickypg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Especially on this site...
I like how (with political opinion stories removed) there were at least 2 other stories that I had noticed on the same OVERALL news page about the Wii.
I'm surprised the rest of the stories weren't about the Mac. - hansamurai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1G4 sucks.
- TrueBuckeye, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I know I'm still looking for one and according to the Target next door (who sold 18 before 9AM yesterday morning) I'm not the only one.
- supersteve, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i brought my Wii over to my Aunt and Uncles house this weekend. They have never touched a video game in their life. (well maybe PONG back in the day or something) My Uncle could not put the thing down. I went out with my G/F for a few hours and came back and he had been playing it the whole time. Here is solid proof the Wii is turly the greatest thing ever.
PS he wants a Wii now, We looked every where for one and found none. Found lots of P$3s thou. - knugen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Preordered mine on December 13th, still waiting (Sweden)... :T
- Odjn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yeah, I go to G4 for my video game news, try again.
- melbolt65, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1sure, Wii is cheap compared to other consoles, but it is still the most expensive family fun "board game" system I've ever seen. I think I'll stick to my 360 :)
- LucidHawk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0However many have been shipped that's how many have sold. Why is that so confounding to these analysists and websites that they all make different estimates. The immediate demand is still NOT met so they can expect sales to continue like this. By that I mean any place that announces they have them will be sold out within the hour.
- labbrat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yeah...no fewer than 4 of my closest friends want a Wii now. I should mention that 3 of them are (like myself) 23-year old females, and I don't think any of them have ever bought a gaming system prior to this.
- uberlord, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I was wondering why I couldn't find it.... BTW, it's Time Warner now, they bought Comcast - or 'merged'
- carpespasm, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1when it's competition's news after launching far fewer units is "welp, that was an exciting couple of weeks".
- dpmcalli, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3evilbert420 that has to be the most flawed car analogy Ive ever seen. And Ive seen a lot of crappy car analogies.
- melbolt65, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0what i meant to say before it cut me off
the reason why i feel wii is doing so well is because they are targeting grandmas and families, not hardcore gamers. It feels more like an elaborate board game to me than a gaming system. - kiantech, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1everytime I go into a store they are sold out of wiis but i still see ps3 sitting there
- waffledad, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I know people that are still trying to get their hands on one... and quite a few of them at that. I don't see the popularity dying down anytime soon... at least not until those that are still looking, get one.
- tehdan3, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3wii owns.
ps3 sucks.
'nuff said. - unloud, on 10/12/2007, -15/+3Please bury this comment you are reading; I didn't intend it to be posted in the top thread.
