Gunstar Heroes
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
Alien Crush - DanteDefiance, on 10/12/2007, -1/+33***** win! Gunstar Hero's will be my first VC purchase.
- negativefx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+34Please put Ocarina on the list. :/
- n8r0n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27I have not purchased any VC titles yet, but Gunstar Heroes may be my first.
- Smoktiludy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+29I'm not so sure I remember reading 'We promise.' after Nintendo talked about their plan to release VC games every Monday. It's more than likely just a goal for them to shoot for.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+26Aw c'mon! How much longer do we have to wait for Super Mario Bros.?
- Klisk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23Waiting for Bubble Bobble... :(
- Tonyisbad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Can someone nudge me awake when they release either Super Mario 3, Sonic 2 & 3, Kid Cameleon, Goldeneye or Mario Kart? Until then you can find me playing wii sports all weekend with my friends.
- v4r4n, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17You should be happy these titles have now been immortalized. You and everyone else can enjoy them. Get over your 'old religion' issues and just have fun.
- ForlornHope, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine? I played sonic, so I recognize the name but serious WTF-age.
From wikipedia:
"Storyline
Dr. Robotnik has hatched a plan to ensure that no music or fun remains on Mobius. To do this, he kidnaps the citizens of Beanville and stuffs them into a giant robotising machine called the Mean Bean-Steaming Machine (hence the name, Mean Bean Machine), so that they become his robot slaves. The player must now defeat each of the robot guards and Robotnik himself to foil his evil plans."
I'm willing to buy whatever the hell it is they were smoking for $100/gram. - stealthboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Ice Hockey ftw. Favorite game of the neighborhood, and many bruised and tired fingers were the result of constant button-mashing in fights. What a fantastic game.
- tdogg241, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Kids these days...
- plastek, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15I'm really disappointed with the VC offerings so far.
The Wii itself is really fun to play, but sometimes I want to sit on the couch, and kill a couple of minutes.
Cm-on Nintendo, lets see some decent games on this mfer! No more of the Solomons Key type games that suck.
Where is Mario 3, Super Mario RPG, and Super Mario World?
I got $20 in Wii points waiting to be spent on a decent game, not some crappy filler. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I would really love to see the N64's "Body Harvest" on Virtual Console. It was developed by DMA Design (now Rockstar North) right before they created Grand Theft Auto, and it shares many similarities with GTA. It is an in-or-out-of-vehicle game set in vast countryside in a world that seems post-apocalyptic. I loved it for the music and such, and it had a bit of a comedy side.
- ferrarif1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I want to see Blades of Steel and Mike Tyson's Punchout for NES! That would be pretty awesome!
- MCHampster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11@atmablue
The # in your story is for North America. Nintendo has said 4 million worldwide by year's end. - Smoktiludy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Oh man....I've been waiting for Ice Hockey since launch. This game is still fun after all these years...
My hands are already cramping up. - Feanor, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13I have a buddy who works at Circuit City, and there were PS3's ON THE FLOOR that weren't selling...Wii60 FTW.
- StealthTomato, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12comment buried because it's ridiculously biased.
- scooterbaga, on 10/12/2007, -6/+16Can someone please add this list to their comment? It's blocked at my work.
- n00bst3r, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12When are they going to release some real games!? The only game worth purchase right now has to be Mario 64. I wan't some SNES sex.
- n00bst3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Current wish list:
Super Mario World 1 & 2
Pilotwings
Super Mario Kart
Mario RPG
Super Metroid
And of course The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past
There's $56 waiting to be your's Nintendo! - j0ew00ds, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Those things are coming, but I'm with you.. why not at launch?
- SteaminTmann, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Duck Hunt with the Wiimote FTW
- Push2Flush, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8toe jam and earl will be out on christmas, said it on the sega site:
http://www.sega.com/games/game_temp.php?game=vconsole - OutofExile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Where are all the Mario games besides Mario 64? Where's A Link to the Past? Where's Mario Kart? Where's either version of Pilotwings?
I understand the lack of Goldeneye and Donkey Kong Country, because Rare is presently owned by Microsoft, and I sort of understand the lack of the Final Fantasy, Secret of Mana, or Dragon Warrior titles, because who knows what Squeenix will do, but as far as in-house stuff like Super Mario World, Mario Kart, and Pilotwings, what the hell is goin' on?
There'd better be a damned good reason for this stuff not being present...like waiting for online multiplayer functionality in Mario Kart or something. So far the VC titles basically come down to Sonic the Hedgehog, Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda, Bomberman, and Bonk's Adventure; all good games, but seriously...the rest are completely random crap. I'm getting impatient here. =) - Raian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I wonder what the deal is with Opera.... I am keeping my fingers crossed it's shipped before Xmas.
- Flummoxer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Yes, Super Mario RPG is exactly what they need.
- masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8@negativefx:
Please put Ys I, II, and III on the list for the TurboGrafx-16, please.
So many good games, so very very few of them on the VC. :-( - autorock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Ah yes, Nintendo Ice Hockey. The "all fat guy team" is one of the greatest milestones in video hockey history. I would love to see these guys somehow make an appearance in a "next-gen", NHL style hockey game....at least as a sign in the crowd, or some other type of homage. If it were up to me, I'd just paste the old NES sprites directly into the game, flat in 3D, Paper Mario style.
- Coffeedemon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7There is a good reason... they're not going to blow the whole load in one day or week.
I expect some to be pack ins... like Super Metroid when Corruption comes out. - velvet396, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8gunstar heroes is probably the best retro title they have available... (mario 64 notwithstanding...)
- Ascendant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Ice Hockey rules. It's all about having 3 skinny dudes + 1 fatty!
- atmablue, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7@docdoak
False.
See reference:
http://www.n-sider.com/newsview.php?type=story&storyid=2531 - SkippyDoorknob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Exactly - if they released all the classic greats all at first, then everyone would be saying months down the line, "man, the VC was good at first, but now it's all junk games!"
- krakelohm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Thanks for informing us.
- NewChar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Nice, Gunstar Heroes and Mean Bean Machine rock. Finally, some good Virtual Console titles.
- Klisk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Christmas, probably.
- mavranos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+54 million worldwide by years end is what they said. They past 1 million around the first week. And as far as launches go they've got their crap together better than the other competitors. So far they've been doing pretty good with the VC releases.
- Chode2235, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8When will they release some real reasons to buy VC games? The online aspect is by far the weakest part of the Wii. No decent VC games, no online play, non-functional channels?
I guess if my only complaint is the online, then we're in good shape. But hurry up Nintendo.... - atmablue, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Mean Bean Machine is essentially the same game as Kirby's Avalanche for SNES, if you've ever played that. Both games are based off the same Japanese game called Puyo Puyo, so the similarities make sense.
- atgunning, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Starfox is what I am waiting for - more SNES please!
- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It's entirely possible that no VC games will ever have online play - they never promised it. Online play may be soley for Wii games.
- scottinks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Cool games...but god I still want Super Mario Brothers - the first game that got me addicted to video games like it was crack.
- MatttK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Give me Blades of Steel or give me death! :(
- ryansebiz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Toejam and Earl will be released on Christmas. It's on Sega's Virtual Console page. You can see the release dates for all the Genesis games through the end of the year.
- RedZeppelin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Wii consoles on store shelves on 12/11/06: 0.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I would like the actual arcade versions of classic Nintendo games.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Wasn't that the plot of Footloose?
- hansamurai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Agreed, this is why I haven't bought any VC games yet.
