- isthisnametaken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+28I still wish there was a "Demo" mode on VC. I might try some of the games I missed, but I'm not going to blindly pay for them.
- racer108, on 10/12/2007, -4/+29No SMB3 yet?
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25Kirby's Adventure! Finally!!
Oh, 5:00pm can't come soon enough. - ModernTenshi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21I swear to god Nintendo is going to bankrupt me. I've spent $80 on VC titles so far, and now they just released 3 good games today. Sure they're designed to keep you pacified through a drought of titles, but if they keep making me buy VC games, I won't have enough money to buy Wii games when they come out!
Perhaps I should play through what I already have rather than continually buying new games . . . . - internetcoward, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18Perhaps they are gearing us up for SSBB and getting us acquainted with the characters.
- SlackerCS, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20That's a heck of a deal. Can I interest you in a five dollar bill for $6.99?
- johnhummel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Finally - now I can find out what the big deal is about Kid Icarus. And I just happen to have 500 points left. Perfect.
- KyleRayner, on 10/12/2007, -10/+24Hey, good job showing your support for the industry! Keep up the illegal work, maybe theyll start throwing some good DRM and HDCP on the next-gen of games, huh? One can only hope!
- TiMMY8765, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15because it's easier to get friends to sit down and play through gunstar heroes in front of a TV with wireless controllers than it is in front of a PC with a keyboard and a generic gamepad
- gallagherFTW, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12no earthbound yet?
- daridave, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14Kid Icarus : The best Valentine's Day gift ever. :P
- Braingoo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13All 3 classics NES Games, another good week for the VC.
If I only had more money, oh well its a comfort to know they are there if I want them. - dvddesign, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12So, then....
Where is it? - Corynorhinus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9@ spyrochaete:
You can redownload VC games you've previously downloaded without paying for them again, so you don't have to keep copies of all the VC games you download. - daridave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9That will be a huge release. Expect it when the library of Wii titles gets a boring period.
- straxus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I still own the carts for these games, so I see nothing ethically wrong with using ROM dumps of those carts on a modded XBOX. That said, I'm seriously considering paying the $5 for Kid Icarus to show my support for the long neglected franchise. Sort of a 'vote with my dollars' kind of thing for a revival of series.
- mwmccullough, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9We need Super Mario All Stars, that can wrap 'em all up with the better graphics.
- vlurk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Since when the character "$" automatically means US dollars?
No, a Wii Points Card is $24.99 CAN indeed. That's not a deal nor an error: it's regular price in Canada.
Next time, take a second and think about the possibility that someone posting on Digg might not live in the USA before you write your message. - dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8"I can see that 2GB storage maximum becoming a real issue in the not too distant future at this rate."
What 2GB storage? The thing only has 512MB on board. At this rate, I'll have to back-up all my games on SD cards. Woe is Bender. - aahpandasrun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8iluvatar: You're part of the very small minority that actually uses them.
- Rymep, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I'm sure they'll release All-Stars right after they release all the games within.
- 1upgamer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Give me Kirby Superstar!
- LordBug, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@dvddesign - With "Wii Play" out this week, it's not boring enough for them to drop SMB3 on us :)
- paku, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Kid Icarus or Kirby's Adventure? I can't decide..
- childprey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6kirby.
- Lucavious, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Hurrah! Best NES game by far (Kirbys Adventure). Spent over 24 hours attempting to clear the original and hard mode in one playthrough without saving for fear that the file would become corrupt. Hating a Kirby game is like hating fun :)
- iluvatar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4i know it sound crazy but they're one of the best characters in the game. Nothing is better than having that double smash attack, they're impossible to grab them both(the other one will just hit you), and nobody ever expects them to actually do anything. I can usually wrap up a 4 player match with half the total kills when I'm the Ice Climbers.
...but that's just me. There's got to be somebody else who shares the ice climber love out there. - McHoffa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yes, Kid Icarus!! I never played kirby or ice climber though, maybe i should try out the roms first... I am still waiting for SMB 2 (usa version, not lost levels) and 3 and my fondest memories will be complete!
actually i wish they would release SNES super mario all stars, i like the redesigned looks of the old games.... - Decimit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I've been wanting to play Kid Icarus again since they released the Game Boy version oh so many years ago. I never did beat it on the original NES when I rented it, and have wanted to go back and play it ever since.
I barely remember Ice Climbers but it does look very fun. Looks like Nintendo figured out another way to get a little more money out of me. At least I'm happy about it. - Gatesophile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4*is getting Kirby's Adventure as soon as she gets home*
- smd31, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I might actually try Ice Climbers/Kid Icarus...
Still waiting for SMB 3 though :p - Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3When Kirby Super Star is released on the Wii VC, I will be the happiest digger of them all.
I'm not a huge Kirby fan, really... not at all... - Coffeedemon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Give me Star Tropics and I might make an effort to go find a Wii.
- iluvatar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Perhaps, although I've heard rumors that the Ice Climbers won't be returning in brawl. Damn shame if you ask me; they were one of my favorite characters.
- slaystench, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I agree, Ice Climbers own.
- Firehed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@spyrochaete - You do know that most NES and SNES roms are under 1MB, right? I don't know if the VC uses a straight rom dump of the game like what you'd use with a standard console emulator, but you'd need to buy a LOT of titles before you even come close to filling the internal storage (which, by the way, is 512MB; you can't run VC downloads off a SD card).
- jdw0019, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Give me Tecmo Super Bowl. I would love if they would release this game on the VC.
- TrainwreckX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I like Ice Climber, but I'm not ready to drop $5 on it. $10 for the other two comes easy.
Nintendo is my Valentine this year for giving me Kid Icarus instead of stale candy. I < 3 this VC stuff. - ddobson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2For the most part I'm going with VC games that I don't own originals on. Most of the early VC games I bought were TG-16 games I never owned when the system was current, or foolishly sold after I finished them (like Military Madness; have the Nectaris remake on the PS1 but the original still rocks.) Haven't picked up Soldier Blade because I can't yet get past the second level on Super Star Soldier. Had to pick up SM64 for the improved resolution, and Mario Kart 64 because I'd never played ANY of the Mario Kart titles (horrors!) Had to get Super Castlevania IV, even though I still have my original cart, for the sake of the "continue? yes, but LATER please" ability, and Contra III for some Konami goodness I rented in the early 90's but never bought. Definitely buying Kid Icarus (which I finished and loved) and Kirby (which I somehow missed completely) as soon as I have a free evening.
All around, I'm lovin' me some Virtual Console. Only disappointment was Toejam & Earl, only because I was expecting a little more old-school action and it's more of an item hunt. But one flop out of a bunch ain't bad. - romws, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Never tried Kirby before until today. It was pretty fun.
- arcticblue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They sell the 2000 point cards for $24.99 at the PX here in Iraq. I'd assume it would be the same stateside.
- Okari, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You might have your xbmc, but we have Wii's so we win automatically.
- Xenogis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have gotten two 2000 point cards so far and they were both $20 USD
- Guitarsenal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I want Tetris! Columns and Mean Bean are OK puzzlers, but let's get the real thing out there.
- enharmonix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1...and now Nintendo has $10 more from me. Gah. Well, Kid Icarus was one of the games I was waiting for. Kirby was just a nice surprise. Ice Climbers... I didn't really care for that one.
- o0joshua0o, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I loved the second Toejam and Earl game. I'm hoping it will be released on the VC sometime this century.
- Glich, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wonder if Kid still has the overload bug when you got too many things moving on the screen at once and the system slowed.
- Xenogis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"We need Super Mario All Stars, that can wrap 'em all up with the better graphics."
I wouldn't buy it though because I still have a working SNES with All Stars. - DanteDefiance, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Kid Icarus>your face.
- ldkronos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I imagine it would. Gradius slows to a crawl at certain points, just like the original NES version.
