Yeah, that's what 'she' said. - zouden, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15These accessories are NOT made by Nintendo.
- BuddyDoQ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13You're not thinking like a 6 year old. Not only can you beat up your sister with the plastic bat, but it makes the games more funner.
- ucbmckee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11I dunno, I've had five girls over to play my with my Wii (god that sounds dirty) and almost all of them don't "get it".... "Yes, just pretend the controller is a piece of sports equipment analogous to the game you're playing. No, I've never seen anyone play tennis by just moving their wrists. Weren't you on the tennis team in high school?" Maybe something like this would help their form by making the analogue more concrete. And, heck, $22 is in the 'irrelevant' category for cash expenditures.
(Not that I'm trying to be sexist against girls, I just don't invite guys over. =) - Odjur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I don't need it.
I already duct taped my wiimote to my 5 iron. It adds new meaning to that little toon you see before each game with the swirly arrows around him warning other people to stay the hell out of my range of motion. - nstern2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8You don't have to aim to select menus. You can use the D-pad to select.
- aliengoods, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Tell that to the companies that sell worthless iPod accesories.
- natureman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I personally don't want to own this for my Wii controllers, but would like to watch someone else play with them,.
- StealthTomato, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Or you could just use the d-pad and "A" button.
- MizuKitsune, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This pack is shocking.
It's made from a cheap plastic, you need to force your controller into it, and you achieve nothing that a plain controller would give you.
And lets not forget the strap it comes with, is just as bad, if not worse then the original strap for the Wii remote.
My advice, don't buy the pack. If it's a freebie, well, so be it, but I don't recommend anyone shelling out for this. Even at $2, it's just not worth it.
These are not official add-ons, they are third party. The remote is designed to be used in many instances, and this pack is just insulting, and ruining the design and aesthetics of the controller. - leontes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I'm looking forward to being able to use the wiimote as an creative extention: Paintbrush, pen, conductor's baton, xylophone hammer, drumming mallet, dance extention, theatrical mask or anything else that speaks from the imaginative soul.
- VeganG, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Does anyone else see these things flying off towards your TV?
- EtherGnat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3These are pretty lame accessories, but the controller port on the Wiimote opens some interesting possibilities. The Wiimote could dock with all kinds of accessories to provide power, motion sensing, and wireless capabilities cheaper than creating them from scratch. A wireless Guitar Hero controller, steering wheels, gun controllers, pinball flippers, leg sensors, whatever. I'm sure they'll come up with things we can't even dream of. Most of them will be cheesy, but they'll be cheap, and cheesy can be fun (at least for awhile).
Joytech should be ashamed of themselves, but I'll forgive them if their recharging station works well: http://gear.ign.com/articles/751/751651p1.html - Scuba, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3These have been out since the release of the console in PAL countries. Why the delay?
- WarezAppz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I just do not see the practicality in this - except for someone who wishes to waste money on a non-essential; non beneficial accessory.
- dmron, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I can't see how adding a cheap ass looking piece of plastic to your controlled would make the game any more fun. I hope these fail miserably.
- ucbmckee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Actually, you're incorrect. If you look at the picture, the item in the upper right is a harness for the controller. The extensions attach to this, not the port. (and, if you look, you'll notice that they attach to the top - where the IR is) The annoyance will come when you have to pop off the stupid accessory everytime you click 'play again'.
- Chakz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Someone needs to take apart their wiimote and wire it to a powerglove.
/typing on my wii - ChrisRX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3How can you not understand that you're supposed to pretend the wii remote is whatever object you're using.
I'm guessing you don't play raving rabbids or else you'd be out shopping for a plastic cow on a chain attachment. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5It came with the Wii in Target Australia toys.
Let me tell you a few things.
1 - Using any of these addons blocks IR sensor, so on screen pointer no longer works, so you cant use it for Wii Sports unless your prepared to pull the damn thing off everytime you want to select your character.
2 - You risk breaking Wii mote removing it from the casing, You have to push down very hard on your wii mote, if it gets stuck - tough press even harder on your buttons/ whatever hand hold you can get.
The addons release at launch are a huge insult, I bet nintendo never even tested them on Wii sports else they would of made the pointing function of the Wiimote still available. After such pathetic addons for the Wiimote I doubt we will see anymore. - cyberfelon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I know that, I didn't say you can't... why exactly was I dugg down for stating a fact?
- ThinkBox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@ mem2
you dont need the IR point for most selections, as long as you keep it off screen you can navigate with the the D-pad, but if the IR cursor is on screen is delects the points and automatically waits for the cursor to select the option. - cyberfelon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2These attachments block the sensor on the remote meaning you can't aim the cursor on the menus.
- wideawakewesley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have a Wii, but I wouldn't touch this pack with a bargepole, it's cheap tat.
- SHADOW3000, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You must have an oversized livingroom...
- Firehed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Probably not, but I don't think giving all of the Wiitards out there extra range is an especially good idea regardless.
- SSYe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sledge Hammer.....
- dr00, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you're right shadow. it couldn't possibly be sarcasm.
- stusb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1no. they're soooo hard to get on and equally as hard to take off.
- SHADOW3000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow you're right! Mine couldn't have possibly been either! Thanks for point that out!
- SHADOW3000, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It's only harmful if you're an idiot...or if you use those.
- gkeirns, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1By chance, were all these girls blonde?
- ucbmckee, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2You're thinking like a gamer geek. Nintendo has made it absolutely clear that you are not their target market. Get into the head of someone who doesn't have 12 years of Nintendo Power in their closet and you'll see the practicality of something like this. The accessories are gimmicks, sure, but then so is the Wii. It might help the ungamer Nintendo wants to reach out to with this product.
- Enixile, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0I'm just wondering what is an 'irrelevant' cash expenditure... and how is not inviting guys over sexist toward girls?
- Nemesiz, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2@leontes
Please lord tell me you do _not_ use a hammer on your xylophone. Mallets for keyed instruments, and some drums (bass drum/timpani). And sticks for snares. But you can take a hammer to the anvil, or brake drum. Of course when it comes down to it, you are just beating things for noise.
/end percussion rant - squirrelza, on 10/12/2007, -9/+5Cheap Chinese Crap. CCC.
- zonk3r, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Does anyone else see an end to stupid comments like the one above?
- foshizlak, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2The Wii has breached a new level of lameness with this. Seriously, why would you buy one of these.
- Tagaiz, on 10/12/2007, -17/+0Make your Wiimote feel even more realistic.
