- AwesomeMonster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+42Written in the bad section "time to get some new commentators" Uh... isn't the game called.... Madden? I think thats gonna be just a little too much to ask for.
- MBarnwell, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30you're on a technology-centric website...http://www.myspace.com is what i think you were looking for/
- AkatsukiNoTobi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24It is probably due to the fact that almost every single Madden game released only have different rosters and a few different game play tweaks. We finally get to have a fresh Madden for once.
- LunarOcean, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18My brother's bought just about every mainstream football game since Madden 93 - Madden, Quarterback Club, NCAA, etc etc. He has a very sizable collection of basketball, baseball, and hockey games as well, though he doesn't pick them up as frequently as he does football games.
He still desires a 360 or a PS3 for other reasons, though he wishes to see how the PS3 does in comparison to the 360 before making his move. However, seeing as he was with me at the front of the line since Saturday morning, and that he bought Madden as one of his first games, exlcaiming how after using the Wiimote a little he could see himself easily passing to certain receivers with it - that makes me think that, quite possibly, WhereAmI, the sports fans may very well have no problem with buying a Wii, hmm? And if they don't buy it in place of a PS3 or 360, yet they still buy one, well, I'm sure Nintendo doesn't mind. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+21Dreamcast version of NFL 2k1 > anything Madden
- pbjorge12, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Madden was the #3 selling launch title...So I beg to differ...
- burningpenguin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15"how many Wii/PS3/Xbox 360 reviews and bullshat articles are we gonna see? God damn this crap is getting old"
Topic>Gaming>Gaming News
Apparently some people like to see game reviews and this is where they put them.
You're always going to see this "bullshat" - subscribtion, on 10/12/2007, -6/+17I'm sure a lot of things are beyond you.
- robbiedo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Actually wrong, I decided to get a Wii specifically for Madden 07. Yes, I have an Xbox 360
- Omega697, on 10/12/2007, -5/+15Alright, only .4 points less than Zelda. Game must be AMAZING....
- InsaneShow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I think the words 'very poor' is a bit much. From what I've been reading (ign, 1up, gamespot, etc) the Wii games, much like the PS3 games are a bit of a mixed bag.
From my personal experience, I can say that three of the Wii launch titles are fun as hell. While they may not be the most graphical advanced games, they have defiantly managed to entertain me all day, and will continue to do so for a long time. - artofwar420, on 10/12/2007, -9/+17Well, I disagree.
- Konrad9, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I think they're referring to the fact the commentators have been there for nearly 20 years, and they are probably saying the exact same things in the exact same tone.
Gets a bit boring. - EtherGnat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7@alphonse55
You don't like us wasting your time but you have no problem wasting ours with your pointless comments complaining about stories people are obviously enjoying? Way to be a total ass! Digg reflects the interests of the people who use the site--get used to it. - Atom, on 10/12/2007, -18/+24Were talking about gamespot here. They fault Madden for having Madden in the game and fault Twilight Princess for having Link in the game. Their incompetence continues.
- Kaosu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Yeah I picked it up today as part of my launch spending spree. The game is genuinely fun and seeing as how I dont play sports games or even understand football, thats pretty amazing.
- raz3000, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Un-select gaming from your list of sections on Digg.
- reddevil3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The PS3 version doesn't have online play if I'm not mistaken.
- maduin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I never once thought to buy Madden for the Wii, but from all the glowing reviews, I have to have this game to play with my friends.
- razorsharp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's pretty fun. It's nothing revolutionary but it does feel more natural than using standard controls. The nice thing about a gesture based system is that you never have to remember what button does what - for the most part. At first I had some problems running the ball, but after I got the control scheme down I did like it more than regular Madden. The fact that it doesn't have all the graphical bells and whistles really didn't matter to me.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not enough exclamation marks! If you want to get noticed on digg you need dozens.
- FuManchuX, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3This actually sounds pretty cool. I wouldn't usually be interesting in a foot ball game (they haven't changed much since the SNES days); but this sounds like something I might enjoy -- if I could actually find a Wii :)
I guess this vindicates Nintendo's approach. (And I say that because I stopped being a hardcore gamer 10 years ago, after losing interest -- but I'd buy a Nintendo right now if I could). - WraTH017, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1First we hate gamespot for the Zelda review and now we love it for the Madden one? Right....
*thumbs up* - Four20, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm reading the mag, and I see Wii games getting between 5-8, a couple getting above 8.
And PS3 games between high 6s and 9s - czimmerman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, I'm with razorsharp. It was like the third game I popped in my Wii, and I picked it up last Wednesday so it was sitting on the coffee table for a while before I actually got a chance to play it, and now like three games into my franchise, its hard to like...think about going back to playing it with a standard controller. I even owned the 360 version and traded it in to get some cash off Gears of War, so I've seen the MS next generation, and the Nintendo next gen, and with the Wii controls, I'm all for the Nintendo next gen Madden.
- Mosatii, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Please don't feed the fanboys.
- thebaron2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well I know that the 360 version blows ass!
I have a 360 but don't like the Madden games, but my friend bought a premium edition 2 days ago with a $100 rebate from Microcenter, and also got Madden. The issue is that there IS NO IN-GAME COMMENTARY.
There's this crappy ESPN Radio voice that is supposed to substitute for the in-game commentary, but it's horribly lacking. My buddy, who loves the Madden franchise, just grew more and more frustrated with the game and said the lack of commentary really detracts from the whole experience. That and he didn't like how the cone of vision works on the 360 version. Apparently it doesn't pop up automatically or something like in the GC version, which also frustrated him.
No commentary though? Seems like a no-brainer. - alphonse55, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Gnat,
A predictable enough response. That is the nature of digg. Everyone loves the freedom of digg and the user controlled content. That is until someone has something negative to say and the response is to essentially censor that comment. - BenSerwa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Exactly. All the whiners, "you haven't played the game, you can't know if it deserves an 8.8 or not!" *****. Compared to everything else that's been said, compared to everything we know about the development and the scope, an 8.8 is complete nonsense, anyone with any sense could realize it without playing the game. The guy did it to be all, "Ooo! Pay attention to me, I'm doing something controversial!" No other reason.
- tdhurst, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5@zymosis "Does John Madden even announce on it? I was under the idea that he didn't even commentate on the series, just a nameplate."
Been living under a rock for 10ish years? Have you ever SEEN or PLAYED the game? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0hey sony and Microsoft suck it!
it shows that you don't need HD to play great games XD - Four20, on 10/12/2007, -9/+6from reading EGM this month, this game seems to be about the only one. wii games are getting very poor reviews from the more traditional gaming sites/companies
- consonance, on 10/12/2007, -14/+10Gamespot's hatred for the Wii truly knows no bounds!
- estvir, on 10/12/2007, -9/+5.. because a couple of slightly negative reviews == hate, right ? :o
- zymosis, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3Does John Madden even announce on it? I was under the idea that he didn't even commentate on the series, just a nameplate.
- alphonse55, on 10/12/2007, -14/+8Sorry but this guy is right. I want a Wii as much as anybody but do we need to find out about every Wii game that is reviewed by Gamespot? And don't tell me to filter gaming from my digg results. I like gaming news, just not this crap. Digg me down if you like but this is getting ridiculous.
- sporkman, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4but yet, the 360 and ps3 versions of call of duty 3, are much Higher than the Wii. so shut up with your "Wii rocks Ps3 and Xbox" crap.
- chinaman1472, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1The gaming on Wii is just completely different... it really shouldn't be compared to PS3 or XBox. It's like comparing Steak and Chicken; you can eat both for dinner, but it's 2 different things.
- knodi, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Wait wait having no online gives it better value then Xbox 360 and PS3 version??
Bull *****. - bergur1, on 10/12/2007, -13/+6Things will stop eventually...This only happens every 4 years or so.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+0And reddevil stay you ass in the TNA wrestling forums you gay boy!
- apache2, on 10/12/2007, -14/+5there are different types of gameplay... duh
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+0ARE you RETARDED Sony had full exlusive rights to EA Sports and Online play unitl the XBOX 360 was ushered in favor of being allowed. Meaning Sony and Microsoft both corner the market on Online gaming you moron! I mean come on PS2 you can play online but Ps3 you can't! Do you realize how stupid a statment that is !
Plus this REVIEW is BOGUS cause Madden 2007 for the PS3 isn't even been reviewed yet as the console just got released Nov17 in North America! Get a life and get some facts !
PS3 games that were previewed and ( more or less reviewed ) were on Demo games and unfinished systems! - WhereAmI, on 10/12/2007, -33/+13too bad no sports fanboys will consider to get the Wii in place of the PS3 and 360
- Dopamini, on 10/12/2007, -31/+5Nothing beats the current PS3 version. How anyone can like the Wii is beyond me.
- gbkyle, on 10/12/2007, -47/+7how many Wii/PS3/Xbox 360 reviews and bullshat articles are we gonna see? God damn this crap is getting old
