- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19^^ You're the only one spewing ***** on Digg. No one wants to hear what you have to say.
- blanktarget, on 10/12/2007, -11/+24you can put your hands on my wii.
Sorry I couldn't resist. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10kind of a weird service though too, since both players need to be on each others list to even send messages
- R0rschach, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13Nice database, but Nintendo really screwed up these Wii codes in the first place, shouldn't have them at all.
- T3rry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7"I don't really like the system either, but since they were trying to get at privacy and "online safety",allowing someone to add you to their friends list and then have them spam the heck out of you wouldn't be that fun for you. I think the main reason they require both users is so that they don't have to deal with the "pests"."
Yeah, but at least they could have a feature like, xxxx has added you to thier list, do you wish to add them?
Instead of both people havign to painfully enter the 16 digit code with the PITA entry system. - AhrenBa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I am not quite sure how this one works, but I really like the ease of use of the one over at http://www.miipages.com !
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Its going to end up like the DS.
There are going to be 100+ sites that do the same thing and never really one main one that everyone likes. Yey. - AhrenBa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Lol, I am not sure if that would work very well, but I do wish Nintendo would have at least considered us "older", so to say, gamers out here.
- interiot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Nintendo is pretty adamant about using friends codes and protecting them. You can't share friend codes on Nintendo's forum, so this site goes completely counter to what Nintendo is going for. That sort of approach might be appropriate when dealing with minors, but I find it a tad insulting being a responsible adult.
- AhrenBa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I don't think they would change it now....
But, yes, I do agree that the "friend" system isn't a very easy thing to use. :( - AhrenBa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@ImTheDarkcyde

- R0rschach, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Soccerboi:
There should be atleast some kind of choice when you first start up the console if you are a kid or not. - riverfr0zen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2They don't have to change anything - all they need is some kind of 'discovery' software to locate other Wiis and connect with them. The software on each Wii can be set to 'don't connect' by default, and those who wish to override that can do so. Since the Wii has 'Parental Controls', parents could easily set the Wiis to 'never allow connect' or something like that. This isn't rocket science.
- MatttK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nintendo included parental controls on the system. Parents should be able to use that to protect their kids. Instead, Nintendo decided to inconvenience everyone. Pretty silly, IMO. :/
The fact that these friend code databases even have to exist is just sad. Nintendo needs to come up with a real online system before stuff like Metroid comes out or it'll just end up like the DS system (many games don't bother using it). - azizk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1now, the site is sending friend requests STRAIGHT TO YOUR WII!
- azizk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1haha, you're right :) i was way too excited i guess :D
- interiot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No, it's kind of ironic they're trying to attract a few more adult gamers this time (the iPod finish looks nice, but is undoubtedly easy to scratch. Similarly, the slot-loading drive looks pretty snazzy, but one wonders how long it will last in children's hands). Yet the friend codes treats everyone uniformly like a kid.

I have like 900 Miis in my parade now lmao! - tle105, on 01/02/2008, -0/+1Check out http://www.gamehuddle.com and see if that makes sharing wii friend codes any easier.
- MatttK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@R0rschach: There is. When I first started my Wii, it asked if I wanted to enable parental controls.
- tle105, on 01/02/2008, -0/+1Check out http://www.gamehuddle.com and see if that makes sharing wii friend codes any easier.
- roninjapan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Try Nunchuk Squad (www.ncsquad.com) ,you can create a profile and find gamers with same tittles you have ..exchange friend codes ..wii videos...etc...
- riverfr0zen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2How do the masses get in touch with Nintendo to let them know how much their wii-code thing blows? It's the one thing I feel jipped about with my Wii.
- finn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i think the code system is fine for privacy, its simple enough concept, people can't exchange text and/or pictures without both parties having registered their friend's code, doesn't matter if one side has it and the other party doesn't, therefor you can't get 'spammed' by anything, indecent for kids or not, without both parties having eachother's codes.
- iamdexter, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This looks good. Will try it.
http://www.naturalizer-shoes.org/ - Caperon00, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Instead of this ridiculous method of trading codes.. Check out
http://www.wiipals.net
A huge list of active members trading codes.. getting ready for online play. - cpc197c, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah. I like how both people need to add the other person, that adds to the privacy factor greatly. I just wish that this was done more efficently. Instead of using wii-codes, have each wii user have a specific wii attached to a my.nintendo account. That way, people can use their nintendo account user name as their wii code. People would then just be able to put in 'cpc197c' for friending the other person instead of the insanely long friend codes. This would also make it much better for online play. If there is someone that you play with that it is mutually agreed on to be friends, each person needs only to input each other's name to connect friends.
This seems like the most logical way to keep the privacy issue bay without having to type these wii codes in all the time... - Arksimon2k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would say 'What a great idea' but reading through the comments it seems there'll be more than one, which is beside the point of it....it's like if you use Myspace and want to add a friend, but he uses Bebo :-/
