The de-blogspammed link:
http://www.youtube.com/v/MWc6xiYRsts- kigabit, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8Thanks for the link, but I'm not sure I can automatically call anything from a blog "blogspam." It seems to me that blogs have been pretty valuable in proliferating the speed at which news spreads across the internet, which ultimately increases the value of the internet as a way of obtaining information. Sure there's the issue of journalistic integrity and false reporting, but really, who relies solely on blogs for news? I've found several pieces of news out from blogs first, which was later confirmed by "traditional" news sites.
- BluParadox, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10I dont think he is saying that anything from a blog is spam. Instead he's pointing out that the submitter could have just linked to the youtube video itself, rather than his blog with the video embedded in it. Instead the poster embedded it in his blog with the hopes of trying to get some traffic out of it - spamming. This isnt really a problem except that a lot of times people try that and their blog cant handle it, so then the link is dead, all because they were trying to get attention for themselves rather than just reporting the story.
- meepus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15I'm sorry, but if you're the original poster of the video, putting it in your blog is not spam. Nor is putting that particular blog up as the digg link. Now, if your blog is linking to a separate report and all you do is talk about it, THAT'S spam.
Not all blogs are spam. Don't be a dumb robot. Jesus. - hankryan, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Also... I don't believe that "blogspammed" is the preferred nomenclature. "Splogged," please.
- Eywanadi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Thanks for the direct link. I am not sure if it is a problem with Opera or not but 90% of youtube videos embedded in blogs do not work for me but the direct links always do.
I wish digg had a feature that made it possible to digg an alternate link so that this blog-spam could be countered to some extent.
- Spaz007, on 10/12/2007, -15/+5Wow we seen the pic weeks ago... This guys didn't get the memo..
- kerbonade, on 10/12/2007, -22/+6Is it possible to be more annoying?
- diggywiggit, on 10/12/2007, -14/+8Dude Sony is dead. You didnt know?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/5319190.stm - Antaeus, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2thats why I love being in the U.S.
- waykohler, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9"Is it possible to be more annoying?"
In my experience all the ebgames staff is like that. - MicrowavedH2o, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Dude seriously EBGames sucks... my friend preordered his 360 there, and the dude sells his reserved console to someone else b/c he wasn't there to pick it up on the first day.
tools... - Scott2, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2wow, a video of a guy showing us small magazine pics of something that has been on teh interweb for weeks . . . cool . . .
- diggywiggit, on 10/12/2007, -14/+8Dude Sony is dead. You didnt know?
- NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -9/+15Yeesh, buried. I'm a fan of the Wii and all, but come on... This Kiosk was on the front page twice already. Both Innacurate and lame - the headline leads me to believe that this was a video of the Wiiosk being played, not a video of a picture that is already all over the internet.
- doug_brit, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Agreed.
- meepus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Read the summary. It indicates the handbook. There are digg stories which are presented much more inaccurately. Still, I agree, this headline is misleading.
- blake213, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10buried. worthless news plus the guy talking makes me want to hit someone.
- diggmaddy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I would hate to be the first person you see after watching this video ;)
- Boor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I suggest Fire ^^.
- diggmaddy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8from the title, I thought it was the video of somebody actually USING the Wii Kiosk. I'm disappointed. This video is no better than scanned images of Wii and PS3 kiosks.
Inaccurate title. - Crass22, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3WOW This is truely amazing news. Im so glad too see the kiosk before hand, I feel like a real insider. WooT! Wait until I get to brag to my friends I was the first to see the kiosk!
.....NOT! dugg down for lameness. - blork1, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2People seem to be missing the fact that he says "[the kiosk] will be in stores October/November". I don't know if this booklet he's reading from is an official source, but if it is - there's your release date.
- TheGrizah, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Well...it may be that the kiosks will be out after release? But that's highly unlikely so...yeah November...which is what I was expecting for the most part.
- symnz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4this is not necessarily true. the gamestop around here had 360 kiosks waaaaay before release.
- cstrike006, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0that guy had the voice of a 35 year old and the maturity of a 6 year old
- Easty, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Nothing new there... Just the same pictures we've seen before, but in a video presented by someone who sounds annoying and appears to be simply a pair of disembodied hands.
Such a man should really be examined by science. - soulpiercer7, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1this video sucks ass. modded down for retardation of presenter
- kigabit, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I, for one, didn't know that "Play Beyond" was Sony's new PS3 slogan. It doesn't seem much better than "This Is Living," sounds like a more abstract and commercial-friendly "Live In Your World, Play In Ours" type deal.
- BluParadox, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Agreed, there was actually new information about the ps3 advertising in this, rather than just support for the rumors that were already out there about the kiosk designs for the two. I'm a little confused why this dig is title like it is, because the video is clearly not just about the wii - maybe he's trying to get nintendo fans to send him to the font page?
- trunkster, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Already on digg but this proves that they are real. So I'll digg.
- cosmicr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2title should have been 'wii promotional booklet video'
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1...and what a video! I was on the edge of my seat!
- artemus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Uh... he had that in the description...
"A video of a retailer's promotional booklet for the Nintendo Wii console, including pictures of the Wii demo kiosk, games, and more". - oldnavy1918, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1He's kickin' that pipe, he's kickin' that pipe!
Great video, it CONFIRMS that those kiosks were real.
They could have just been mock-ups before so this makes t real.
Dugg. - Cyborg771, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Is there any word on if these booths are gonna come to Canada? I don't wanna have to cross the border just to play the Wii.
- fidel01283, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0To hankryan:
Cheers to the Big Lebowski reference. - otatop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Anyone else find it funny that the picture of the PS3 kiosk eluded him, even though it was opposite the ad he showed?
- Catachresis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i think this was pretty hilarious, actually.
- jwasko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Could anyone tell what was on the page opposite the Wii kiosk? When he folded back the page, it made me think he was trying to hide something...but maybe it was completely innocent. What do you think?
