- Kinser, on 10/12/2007, -1/+108Not an actual commercial.. the credits at the end can tell you that much.
- plana, on 10/12/2007, -6/+49That gives me an idea for a fake PS3 commercial: It would start off like the PS3 commercial with the rubiks cube- but in my version it would alread be solved. It would make the cube float and then scramble it- then the PS3 Explodes.
- Tuxbunta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+37"I've yet to see a PS3 commercial and actually have any clue whats going on."
That is probably the point Sony is trying to get across. - dako, on 10/12/2007, -1/+36From the description on YouTube:
Spot de la Nintendo Wii, creado para el concurso "Gana una Wii" de Xataka, idea basada en el anuncio de PS3 "Sixaxis"
Which translates to:
Nintendo Wii Spot created for the Xanata "Win a Wii" Contest, idea based on the PS3 "Sixaxis" commercial. - mdavis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31Even though it's fan-made, it's exceptionally well-made. I really like when it zooms into the optical slot.
- WhereAmI, on 10/12/2007, -6/+32they can't read spanish...
- Jelster, on 10/12/2007, -4/+26Perhaps you need to read this.
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/Parody - raabco, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Buried as blogspam
What, that's not an option?
Buried anyway, dugg the direct YouTube link. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17Wow, just direct link to the damn video if your blog can't handle the digg effect.
- Koray, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17Do tell, what exactly DOES a bloody egg portray?
- diktator279, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16but I wanted this guy to make money from his advertisers!
- quamb, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16the crows looked great to me.
the PS3 ads, whilst bizarre, certainly created a mood. seems just because they are PS3 ads, therefore they suck.
the sony Bravia ad has colour balls bouncing around, though don't hear people complaining about that. - diggmaddy, on 10/12/2007, -17/+29It's not about bias against Sony (well, it somewhat is), but if you carefully notice the difference between the two adverts, you'll notice
Sony:
- Only feature properly advertised: Sixaxis.
- Crows at the end made absolutely no sense
Wii:
- Features advertised: Motion sensing, point and shoot, swinging like a sword (chopping the egg at the end)
- No bizarre crows that have nothing to do with the Wii.
No one claims it to be the best thing since sliced bread, but Wii advert is much better at being an advert and not a horror clip. - tomi, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15Makes me want a black Wii.
- kjm16, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10It's true, the Wii is the best thing since sliced eggs.
- Blah_Blah_Blah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9^^ Its MOCKERY, plus its a fan made commercial.
- davehendrix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Here is a link to the PS3 version.

Honestly, this would have been an interesting move, if it were a real commercial, because it really makes the palindromic SIXAXIS seem lacking in comparison. They could even take this idea further, and show moree Wii features like rumble, speaker, etc. Actually, after seeing this, I am surprised that parody commercials aren't more common because the message is powerful. - DemonCold9, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Targeted commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1H90g3NigOM
- JudgeMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Yea.... I'll "learn some spanish" for the next time I encounter a wii ps3 commercial parody that has a minuscule chance of having spanish text at the end.
- twesterm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Digg users have to be some of the touchiest people I've ever seen.
- retral, on 10/12/2007, -7/+13Yet anyways, if I recall correctly, it took a while until they started making different color gamecubes.
- Future2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@retral
The Gamecube had 2 different colors at launch - purple and black. - iKato, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@sabster
There's a difference between parodying an advertising campaign and copying someone's controller concept. (ala the sixaxis) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7And no where in the descrip does it say it is official
- andydumi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Why a black Wii? You cant buy those. However they look far better than the white, and the black wiimote looks much better.
- twesterm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Pa-ro-dy
The commercial was part of a contest to mock *gasp* a PS3 commercial. - joel8x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The only thing good I got from that was a link to this from the youtube page:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmOg41l7EMI&NR - MartyMcFly713, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That was really well done. That'd be sweet if Nintendo had the balls to air something like this.
- GhettoCash, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4even though it is a copy. The PS3 controller can never do what was portrayed.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5In fact, the video says at the end that it's just an "idea", or "concept".
- hamstereater, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6key word: parody
- nonesupplied, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4www.nintendoon.com
Boy, that one was really well made. - CrimsonFlash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wonder what Sony would/could do if Nintendo actually copied this.
- KJSatz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2At least in the U.S., this would be completely legal. "Parody."
- twesterm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The eggs made sense in the PS3 commercial and Wii "commercial", what didn't make sense were the random crows. That's what most people had a problem with.
If this was the original Wii commercial and the egg PS3 commercial never existed, this commercial would not be nearly as good as it is, but since it is a parody and it is a good one, people love it. - daridave, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6but I (and you know you do too) wish it was real.
- twesterm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1lol assinie
Wouldn't it be awesome if digg supplied some kind of tool that would find misspelled words and somehow correct those, or maybe even give you a list of suggestions? Wow, that would be great! It sure help keep people like you from looking like an idiot. - crcurran, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1but it is being used; that fact that is being Dugg and we talking about it means it's being used viral video.
- lamborgini, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0After seeing the original SIXAXIS commericial I find this commercial hillarious.
The Wiimote makes the SIXAXIS's ability to sense 'leaning' ridiculous in comparison. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Ah it's called infringement people GET , GOT, GOOD ! SONY would sue and legelly could the ASSES off NINTENDO if they did. Plus how assinie would it be anyway. Nintendo would only be promoting the Ps3 if they copied they're adds. Jesus the idiots in here
- crashingechelon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Well, I'm not sure if anyone else noticed this and I read through the comments and didn't see it yet. The ending that they did on this concept commercial really reminded me off Lost. How the wiimote and system floated towards the screen in that same fashion and then they subtly showed the Wii logo in a dark grey. Not only that the sound they had playing with the system floating towards the screen almost had that same Lost sound.
Well done commercial! - bokchoi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Fan made parody or not. The Digg response seems to be- if its PS3 it's "utter *****, makes no sense" but if its Wii it's "pretty interesting, makes perfect sense".
Not to say that this wasn't interesting. The shooting at the end was a nice touch though. - HatoriHanso, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I don't think you can sue for a creative concept you're parodying.. if that was true a movie studio could sue another that parodies it... Scary Movie, Date Movie, etc etc.
- weslobombs, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6yeah honestly learn some spanish people.
its just a mockup. - HatoriHanso, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's not an official ad. Sure it's spreading virally, but it's not made by Nintendo.. or even endorsed by Nintendo. It's not going to make it on TV.. and it's not going to be seen by even close to as many people as the Sony commercial was
- fallenone05, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2OMG at the end of the commercial it has something written in spanish that translates to:
"Nintendo has purchased sony and now all Wii's will be black and output 1080p"
i used a spanish-english dictionary to translate this - twesterm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3People like this commercial more because they like funny parodies more than commercials that just don't make sense. The Wii was black because, well, it's a parody.
- HatoriHanso, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Scary man.. that's just scary.
Sony's Nintendo, now compatible with nothing.. - motang, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Nice fan made commercial!
