- XStatic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15It isn't http://www.wiitube.com/, it is http://www.wiitoob.com/ and it is sooooo sloooow
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7it's being hosted on a Xen based linux virtual machine - 96mb of ram - via quantact.com (awesome service). I've asked the dude that runs it to jack it up temporarily while the digg ensues.
- bouche, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I'm waiting for whoever bought wiigg.com to come up with a really slow and ***** digg clone for the wii.
- HUKI365, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Dugg out of existance on this broadband connection.
- okgaz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6It's not loading for me at the moment, digg effect?
@bob There are hundreds of sites using the Wii name + none of those have had any problems with trademark infringement so they should be ok. You're right they shouldn't have just copy and pasted the logo including the TM bit though >_ - DeepDoo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8umm.
The regular youtube works fine on my Wii - seanthebond, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Its slow because a crap load of people from Digg are trying to load the site at the same time.
- compacho, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Alot of these have shown up before, but this one is the best so far. Interface is really simple!
- thecorch, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I've never had any problems with YouTube on my Wii, works like a charm. This site seems redundant.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3the owner of quantact (www.quantact.com) temporarily and kindly upped the ram on the vm from 96mb to 160mb - seems to be performing much better now.
- isthisnametaken, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Can't handle the digg effect? Doesn't look like a good you tube replacement to me.
- megmurray, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Don't know what kind of charmed Wii you have, "thecorch." YouTube's a bitch to view on mine. This site kicks ass.
- YupRules, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I'll stick with youtube, it actually loads on my Wii.
- geekzapoppin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3YouTube works for ***** most of the time on my Wii because the Wii browser seems to choke when there are multiple instances of Flash on a page. It's like it doesn't know which to run and usually won't run either. If you refresh enough, you can usually get a page with an image ad instead of Flash. Then it typically works. Still, I hope this is one of the things they fix when the final version comes out. That and the inability to have tabbed browsing and to get rid of the navigation toolbar. Yes, I'm aware there are sites that simulate tabbed browsing, but they don't work as well as the real thing.
- user123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They already did make a ***** digg clone - but its wiigg.net not .com
- crumb2005, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually, it's just like this site, which I dugg about 2 weeks ago...
http://www.digg.com/gaming_news/MiiTube_watch_YouTube_videos_on_your_Wii - wii2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Same as
http://wiitube.free.fr/
Exists from long ago :) - ToastPop, on 04/17/2009, -3/+2"And no, I'm not part of the advertising team for the site. It just makes viewing internet videos on the Wii much easier."
Thanks for the disclaimer, because if you were the one who actually put all the hard work into making this site, I couldn't digg it and it shouldn't be promoted, no matter how cool!
(This isn't a jab at you, just at the general logic people have on what to digg around here.) - okgaz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Try wiigg.net
- outze, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Another emerging Digg related Wii video site I have heard of is http://bigg.tv - still in early alpha. Anyone hoping for a fullscreen feature in the next Opera upgrade!!!
Is there no diggbackup site of Wiitoob? - kingfelix, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1this site is a copy of
viewii.com,
which is the same thing,
done better,
2 months ago. - Seraphi, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Shame the site can't even handle digg's traffic :(
@tedhead2k: idd! - XStatic, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1@ JanusAmon
My 6Gig DSL generally does pretty well - frositay, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3Buried as inaccurate.
Title says Wiitube, however the website is wiitoob. - BobMysterioso, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Nintendo will remove it for improper use of trademark. Which is unfortunate.
- JanusAmon, on 10/12/2007, -13/+3Dude, you need to upgrade your dial-up connection.
- JasonsRath, on 10/12/2007, -11/+1Great name for a website ... WiiTube.
...I wish I had a Wii.
But that's what friends are for!!! - fatadamblog, on 10/12/2007, -14/+1You can already view online video easily on my site.
