- davekilljoy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14Thats for JS....not Flash, also their API doesn't included the Nunchuk....
- championchap, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11WiiWare != WiiCade.
- fuzzynyanko, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Awesome. I'm taking a class next semester on flash programming and would love to make my games Wii compatible.
- gweedo767, on 10/10/2007, -5/+12Um...this is all standard stuff you can access via JS and Opera already released the API for it and release a game demo to show how it works:
http://devfiles.myopera.com/articles/149/wiicanvasgame.html - AKAImBatman, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Did you even read the article? 4 remotes, motion sensing, buttons, etc. They have a video on the page showing it off!
- MarkOfTheDead, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6hook us up if you make something rad.
- AKAImBatman, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Wrong. The WiiCade API allows the features of the Opera Browser to work through *FLASH* games. As a result, it's built on top of the JS API, not competing with it.
- fuzzynyanko, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6If it's good, I'll post it on Kongregate.
- h0ly, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Opera's canvas is too slow for anything more elaborate than a couple of circles and rectangles on screen.
Not only that, but they also have made a special 2D canvas context for gaming, with locking methods that are supposed to make it faster, but those methods are horribly broken, they simply don't work at all.
It's very frustrating for any JS coder trying to do something even mildly playable on the Wii. - lathieeshe, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5homebrew baby!
- jjpertusch, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3is there any site that allows you to play roms in flash using the buttons on the wii? i've seen web based NES emulators, just not this.
- jeysman, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5WiiCade > WiiWare.
And cheaper! - easyone, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Looking forward to some real made for Wii flash games instead of just using games focused on the mouse pointer.
- AKAImBatman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2From the Download Page:
Client API - License: Lesser GNU Public License (LGPL)
Server Components - License: GNU Public License (GPL) - knetworx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Custom Wii motion sensor: candles next to the TV. I'm not even going to click on your link. The sensor bar just puts out infrared, the remote itself is what actually does the sensing.
- Blah_Blah_Blah, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10?
- ButchersBoy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Good on you, get something good that we can digg right up!
- ButchersBoy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Let's hope some peeps out there start knocking up some really good games making full use of the Wiimote. There's a growing audience out there.
- Megatog615, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Anyone know what license it's under?
- maybeway36, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1www.videlectrix.com had some games using this API for a few days ... then they got mysteriously taken away.
(conspiracy???) - sfatoo, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiiware#WiiWare
this is for dev around the web browser itself. - noahwass, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1Another good WiiMod: http://www.ratemyeverything.net/post/737/Wiidiculous_Building_a_custom_wii_motion_sensor.aspx
basically it's instructions on building a custom wii motion sensor, which is usefully if you have a huge screen like a movie theater and you want to play wii on it. - Spoomeister, on 10/10/2007, -4/+0*sigh*
Cue WiiPorn in 3... 2... 1... - davidpower, on 10/10/2007, -6/+0This Information was already available...
- rafaelwebb, on 10/10/2007, -8/+1That's really great news, but we know Wii suffers from low RAM memory.
Could it be an issue over flash games being made? I hope it doesn't!!! :) - Elliuotatar, on 10/10/2007, -13/+1Wait, so is this the big homebrew thing they said they were gonna do? You mean people have to use the crappy browser to get to the games? And there's no integrated payment system like for the classic games? No compiler? No ability to save games on a memory card?
WTF! I thought Nintendo was going to make it easy for the homebrew developer to make games for the system!

What is Digg?
