- camvet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This story is terrible. They are not trying to win over 35 people at a time. They have generated a lot of publicity and excitement with these events. If you haven't noticed their entire prerelease strategy has been to generate momentum and excitement. They are trying to create an atmosphere where everyone will run to the store and buy it on day one by getting everyone excited about it. You've missed the point if you are trying to compare the number of dollars spend on the party to the 35 potential sales...
- tonictaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2WE KNOW!! ITS VERY OBVIOUS!!
- tonictaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1WE DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK WEEKLYGEEK! I DON'T CARE IF YOU BUY A WII OR NOT, BUY ONE OR DON'T BUY ONE, GET OVER IT!!
- WeeklyGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I care what I think.
- WeeklyGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That wasn't my main point, but okay.
- Farodek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1if all 35 of those people get 5 of their friends excited about it too, then that's 175 sales they just made. most of the people that were at the party mentioned probably would have never looked twice at a commercial for a game system, yet now they will probably buy a wii. i bet that a lot of the people who read that blog on a regular basis wouldn't pay attention to the gaming scene either, but from what she says they may look twice.
- WeeklyGeek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Look twice because Nintendo gave her free stuff? Probably not. They will read that article and forget about the word Wii until they see it in the store. And they probably wouldn't put 2 and 2 together at that point.
