- Cowzeetgrass, on 11/06/2009, -3/+83Superman 64. That game killed my brother, and raped my unborn children.
- Duncast, on 11/06/2009, -1/+81I was pretty upset when there was no cake... :(
- NewSchool87, on 11/06/2009, -0/+40"Perfect Dark Zero. I could not believe i paid for it."
- PrometheusZero, on 11/06/2009, -3/+38Metal Gear Solid 3: The most manly game that can also make you cry like a baby at the end
- pathouston22, on 11/06/2009, -3/+37Modern Warfare 2. How can you destroy such a prestigious line of games and ignore the base that made you?
- thewisemonkey, on 11/06/2009, -10/+43FFVII, Aeris, 'nuff said.
- Jimbo282, on 11/06/2009, -1/+34Wii Bowling when I pulled my groin :*(
- bcassner, on 11/06/2009, -5/+35I definitely got choked up over FF X. Square Enix knows the formula for making a compelling and emotion stirring game. I have played this game over and over and still get a bit choked up at the end.
- nephilim08, on 11/06/2009, -2/+32i cried because i leveled her like crazy
- Xaevier, on 11/06/2009, -0/+23Does crying out of sheer terror/fear count? Because if so I think Silent Hill 2 wins hands down.
- jc7012, on 11/06/2009, -0/+21They're all so happy at the end, jumping around..*snivel*
- pyrobaby, on 11/06/2009, -0/+20I'll be real with you. I cried at the end of FFX. But then, I'm a girl
Come to think of it the first time I beat it, my mom wandered in, she had no idea WTF was going on and SHE cried.
I think the only other game I cried at was Persona 2, but I might be forgetting something. - Jektal, on 11/06/2009, -1/+20Shadow of the Colossus was never a tear-jerker, just sort of this "I... feel bad about myself now..." sort of thing mixed with a little "...what did I just do?!"
- MonkeyNews, on 11/06/2009, -2/+20A game has never made me cry, it's not because I'm a macho tough guy - far from it in fact.
It's just that no game has had that much of an effect on me yet. I wouldn't mind if a game could actually make me cry. - 1234brandon, on 11/06/2009, -1/+19Mother 3. It wasn't translated (formally) into English, but it was the sequel to Earthbound (Mother 2 in Japan). The most depressing game I have ever played to say the least, and I couldn't believe a GBA title could make me tear up.
**Spoilers**
The first chapter of the game you play your father who is searching for his missing wife (Lucas' mother) who wound up getting shredded by a dinosaur the village had befriended. After the father finds out you watch him go through a complete breakdown over pain from his loss.
**Very Big Spoiler**
At the near end of the game Lucas has to fight his twin brother which aside from his father is the only family he has left. After you defeat him the game flashes back to the past when you the two were very close.
Depressing as hell. - MonkeyNews, on 11/06/2009, -0/+17I was more in absolute awe at the character of The Boss and the sacrifice she made.
- jaybol, on 11/05/2009, -5/+21The only game that ever came close to making me cry was Tecmo Super Bowl when Christian Okoye would get injured.
/hits reset button on Nintendo - AGONYTUESDAY, on 11/06/2009, -2/+18Lost Odyssey numerous times during the memories and the funeral, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Final Fantasy VI. It takes some REALLY good story telling to get me to cry. There have only ever been two movies, even, that made me cry. The final funeral scene in Big Fish and LotR: RotK at the end when Bilbo and Frodo leave the Gray Havens.
I'm 20, m. - Whatasillyhat, on 11/06/2009, -0/+15The Longest Journey. Oh yes.
- TheSummerWind, on 11/06/2009, -0/+15FFIX got me at the end.
- Systembomber, on 11/06/2009, -0/+14Calm down mate.
- Kordan9090, on 11/06/2009, -0/+14I agree, that game had one of the most tragic endings imaginable. I'm sure the epic score is what finally throws your emotions overboard. And Snake with the patriot. That was just messed up. But great game with a perfect story.
- soomprimal, on 11/06/2009, -0/+13Metal Gear Solid, the original, so many emotional parts. The nature scenery of Alaska at the credit roll juxtaposed against a whole game of technology and carnage is quite moving.
- gizram84, on 11/06/2009, -2/+15FFX hands down.. Only game to ever make me shed a tear.
- WoollyMittens, on 11/06/2009, -2/+13Spending money on Crysis left me crying about my hardware.
- 0260, on 11/06/2009, -0/+11End of Mafia was as close as I ever got to shedding a tear.
- pyrobaby, on 11/06/2009, -0/+11I feel bad because when she died I laughed.
- RandomGorilla, on 11/06/2009, -0/+10I think Lost Odyssey went out of its way to make you feel bad. What sick bastard turns funeral preparations into a set of mini-games...
- Spamiclese, on 11/06/2009, -0/+10In Final Fantasy II for the Super Nintendo, you have to kill one of the main character's parents who were mutated into monsters. I was like 11 and I cried through the entire fight =[.
- 1234brandon, on 11/06/2009, -1/+10What are you talking about? The only person to die in any of the previous games was Tellah in FF4. Unless you are talking about NPCs like General Leo in FF6, then that's a different story all together.
- DavidYeah, on 11/06/2009, -0/+8I Wanna Be the Guy. :~(
- Sabin, on 11/06/2009, -2/+10Tidus is a whiny little bitch....but i still cried
- iDiggYa, on 11/06/2009, -0/+8You're pretty loose indeed.
- RutgerB, on 11/06/2009, -0/+8FF3 (FF6 US) When Cid died and Celes was left all alone
- newms32, on 11/06/2009, -0/+8I almost rented that game once.
- Joemanji, on 11/06/2009, -0/+7The end of Secret of Mana when the Sprite leaves... oh god it's making me weepy again!
- Propethic, on 11/06/2009, -0/+7Terranigma made me very sad when it ended
- twcguy, on 11/06/2009, -0/+7Yeah, it was hard for me as a guy when my mom wandered in when I was beating it too.
- rgemmell, on 11/06/2009, -0/+7Shadow Hearts 2, seriously, dont want to spoil it, but its not even a death really.
- pyrobaby, on 11/06/2009, -0/+7it was a poll of Japanese gamers, no? That's probably why.
- joshycakes, on 11/06/2009, -0/+6MGS2: Sons of Liberty when Otacon's sister died and Snake and Otacon did that epic handshake and the music swelled and... yea, so did my eyes.
- MentalBeaver, on 11/06/2009, -0/+6Silent Hill 2 when James and Maria are being chased by Pyramid Head and running for the lift. Didn't make me cry but it was an emotional scene.
- Sunsneezer, on 11/06/2009, -0/+6I loved that game. What makes it special is that the best parts and dialogues are occuring DURING fights. I didn't actually cry, but maybe I would have if I had given real life names to my characters.
- ironrex, on 11/06/2009, -1/+7This makes no sense if you actually did play the previous 6 games.
- VulgusPecum, on 11/06/2009, -0/+6Level her up to death, get her last limit. Work on the other characters' limit. Let her die.
As long as the ridiculously powerful Cloud is in the squad, nothing can happen. - ironrex, on 11/06/2009, -0/+5I was too shocked to cry, I always include the "main girl" in my party in rpgs. It was bad enough when she left the group, but I was sure I'd get her back eventually. Then that happened. Then I thought somehow I might get her back anyway, which never happened. Then she saved the world anyway, and at that point is where I would cry, if I was capable of it (which I'm not, too manly). Best ending ever.
- Snoogs, on 11/06/2009, -0/+5No Super Metroid either... when the last metroid in the universe sacrifices itself to save samus... :'(
- bizzywho, on 11/06/2009, -0/+5The scene where Sniper Wolf died was quite sad.
- AGONYTUESDAY, on 11/06/2009, -0/+5the funeral was bad, but it was the mini stories that got me. I think I cried during at least two thirds of them. Remember Me Now got me the worst.
