- DoodleMaster, on 02/12/2008, -7/+176Where the ***** did you get a 60 dollar bill?
- voomfoo, on 02/12/2008, -6/+164wow now i'll feel like a bad ass when i buy them... why yes i am 17, thanks for asking and here's a 60 dollar bill.
- charlescheese, on 02/12/2008, -12/+135They can do what they want, it's their business. Who cares? If you don't like it, shop somewhere else. Problem solved, crisis averted.
- cyraxible, on 02/12/2008, -4/+83Oh well, it's a good thing I don't shop at Wal-Mart.
- asaturn, on 02/12/2008, -1/+71one time at wal-mart I asked for change for a 20 - the girl asked me how I wanted it, I said "three twentys" and she started pulling them out of the register and ALMOST HANDED THEM TO ME...
- doshindude, on 02/12/2008, -2/+55So GTAIV will be read as "Grand Theft"?
- Endit, on 02/12/2008, -5/+56the kiddies won't like this... *imagines*
"MOMMY I GOTTA HAVE THE NEW GTA!"
"What? You can't have that! It's behind that black sleeve. It's probably filled with obscene things, like NUDITY and VIOLENCE. Why just yesterday I saw Fox News reporting on Mass Effect. And they never lie!"
*throws massive tantrum for all to see and hear*
*parent buys game to avoid causing scene* - fxu1989, on 02/12/2008, -3/+53Ah yes, because kids go to Wal-Mart just to see the covers of games which I'm sure range from naked girls to bodies being decapitated ... give me a ***** break.
- Warden72, on 02/12/2008, -2/+48Yes, I'm sure the requisite chick on the GTA IV cover will be baring her honeypot for all to see... :-/
- julianwan, on 02/12/2008, -2/+40it's damn genius, the forbidden fruit sells the best
- treed, on 02/12/2008, -1/+35I don't suppose you've seen Superbad?
- inactive, on 02/12/2008, -1/+35I got kicked out of Walmart for "looking for my keys" in front of the Tomb Raider display.
- 400zone, on 02/12/2008, -0/+33So gore porn like saw and hostel and violent movies like kill bill are acceptable to have their full box art displayed (one of the saws even has a lovely severed foot on its cover), but as soon as its a video game aimed at older audiences its deemed despicable. Its about time retailers and mass media understand that the market for video games is maturing, and instead of "saving" our children by covering up box art perhaps the stores should better enforce the ratings. Besides, today's children have so many avenues to access content that isn't intended for them its a joke to think that blacking out a box will accomplish something. If anything they are more likely to go google the name of the blacked out game they just saw at wal-mart.
- xpose, on 02/12/2008, -0/+32He already mentioned that he's bad ass.
- crownedgriffin, on 02/12/2008, -0/+24You must not have noticed the part where they butt f*** your pay check instead.
- kaijunexus, on 02/12/2008, -0/+24God forbid us to reveal the bottom 3/4 of a video game cover, lest the children discover GUNS play a role in Halo 3!!
- Flappy3, on 02/12/2008, -0/+23Swapped for two 30s, or five 12s.
- sotopheavy, on 02/12/2008, -1/+24Best Buy is one of the worst places to shop for anything. Does anybody still buy technology related things at physical retail stores? It's like being raped in the ass with whatever you buy. The larger the item the worse it is.
- megaton, on 02/12/2008, -0/+23Slow down, folks!!
Did anybody bother following through to the source of the article? ScrapeTV...whatever THAT is.

Not only is the "quote" from Walmart not in any other publication on the web, but there's also a reference to the fact that T rated games will get covered "with a more modest half sleeve."
Now, does anything about this sound legitimate? Bad blogging at its best! - f4nt0m4s, on 02/12/2008, -3/+25I don't know about everyone else, but the Walmart by my house is run down and crappy compared to the surrounding stores. It's full of old people, poor white people and poor Hispanic people, and it is a HORRIBLE place to shop. I avoid Walmart like the plague. Target has similar prices and is about 14000 times nicer. I hope Walmart gets run to the ground.

- JasonMaloney101, on 02/12/2008, -0/+19McLovin gave it to me.
- Jenadae, on 02/12/2008, -1/+20"The larger the item the worse it is."
Thats typically how anal rape goes. - andregriffin, on 02/12/2008, -1/+19It's a 50 taped to a 10, or a 100 cut almost in half.
- ozid, on 02/12/2008, -3/+18Sha!
Or maybe you will get some poor old lady to buy it for you and as she leaves you can tell her you hope she enjoys her remaining years, and she'll hope you enjoy ***** a prostitute. OR (and this is a big "or"), maybe a security guard will slash your throat with a broken blu ray disc.
That should be in a movie or something. - bloominoctober, on 02/12/2008, -0/+14America's education system = Epic. Fail.
- michaelje0, on 02/12/2008, -2/+16...plus tax.
- AzureRise, on 02/12/2008, -1/+15I like newegg.com. They have a couple brand new PS3 games for 20 bucks. And tons of 6th generation games (PS2, XBOX, Gamecube) for 10 bucks.
- inactive, on 02/12/2008, -0/+13Shop smart. Shop S-Mart.
- megaton, on 02/12/2008, -0/+13A little bit more reading and it seems ScrapeTV is a satire site. (Or, at least tries to be.)
Looks like you've been Onionized! - sotopheavy, on 02/12/2008, -2/+15Yea, who buys anything technology related at walmart.
- inactive, on 02/12/2008, -0/+12Yes because Halo 3's cover is quite provocative
- inactive, on 02/12/2008, -1/+12woot for Oregon. No sales tax!
- Gir53457, on 02/12/2008, -0/+11There's nothing degrading about what I do for a living, I sell video games and electronics for 24-30 hours a week while I go to school. It's not like it's my career.
And that's another thing, there isn't always another place to work at. I lost my job recently as a security guard at Target because of layoffs and I was lucky enough to get this job I have now because of my retail experience. My only other option was to move back in with my mother or work at McDonald's because no one else was hiring. You try finding a part time job in San Jose when you can't speak Spanish or Vietnamese. - wwnexc, on 02/12/2008, -3/+13There are a few reasons that make piracy a consideration for honest people: If the pirated software or music is better (no DRM, no DVD needed in drive) or if it is implausible to expect people to jump through the hoops required to get a legit copy.
Walmart is going toward the second option. - CarzorStelatis, on 02/12/2008, -0/+10How about wrestling the black sleeve off every game box on the shelf until you find the game you want? Game boxes have the name of the game in various different places, so if these sleeves are a single design they'll cover up most game names.
- inactive, on 02/12/2008, -5/+15What's the sense of covering it up. If it's that bad then don't sell it.
- DoodleMaster, on 02/12/2008, -8/+18I could care less too for the reason above, but it's the principle of the matter. It means that everyone is now so influenced by the ***** the media puts out there that they are now changing themselves to fit the artificial status quo that people are afraid of the games. ***** Walmart, ***** the media, ***** SENILE politicians. I'm more pissed that there isn't anyone out there rejecting the issue publicly, why hasn't a single god damn network exposed the video game, why haven't the creators of mass effect and other similar at risk game makers shown there games in full glory to people to prove fox wrong? This kinda of news reporting can easily be considered slander, why aren't they doing anything about?
- topgigmedia, on 02/12/2008, -0/+10A note to all game packaging designers: Be sure to put the adult imagery all above the top 35% of the packaging. Repeat, all boobies, "honeypots" (that is awesome btw), decapitated heads, castrated mules and ball sacks go ABOVE the top 25%. Thank you and good day!
- rz8472, on 02/12/2008, -5/+15If Wal-Mart wanted to be "family friendly" maybe they could pay their workers over sub-poverty wages and not lock them in the store at night.
- retral, on 02/12/2008, -3/+13How closed minded is this ***** country going to get?!
- Arcnite, on 02/12/2008, -0/+10Maybe in the future she will... as a direct result to this new policy.
- doyoulikeworms, on 02/12/2008, -2/+12If you don't ***** like it, then vote with your dollars and don't shop there.
- DarkShroud, on 02/12/2008, -7/+16Who really buys games at Wal-mart? Since I don't like Gamestop I just buy games at Bestbuy. With a rewards card you earn points and get coupons for 10% off. And Best Buy usually has plenty of new games atcually instock. So it really beats Wal-mart & Gamestop.
- NnyCW, on 02/12/2008, -0/+9Anything to keep those barbaric hooligans in the shadows and off the streets so us, the non-perverted and law abiding, can feel safe out in the sunshine during our consumerisms.
- Ag3ntOrang3, on 02/12/2008, -1/+10Why the hell would you work at Wal-Mart? All the other places you could possibly work and possibly have some dignity while doing so.
- timlopez, on 02/12/2008, -0/+9Agreed - I worked for them and had great health benefits, and made 16 bucks an hour while working and going to school. I wasn't even in any type of supervisor position. But, that's not what people REALLY wanna hear...
As for the article, at least they still sell it, and don't rip it off the shelves. They try and please everyone. It's their catch 22. - Gir53457, on 02/12/2008, -0/+8*****, I work at one.
- nicko68, on 02/12/2008, -0/+8That beats the old "Can I get two 10s for a 5 please?" scam. :)
