http://youtube.com/watch?v=HUGabGDLg8g - tehbawb, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11wtf did you just try to say?
- NejiKun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6That is bloody awesome. If only I could afford that many monitors....
- MarcTheLad, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Well MY school has 50 Apple Cinema Displays
http://vis.eng.uci.edu/cg/projects/hiperwall/
and a bunch of projectors

hehe - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7It's cool, but not practical. I prefer a standard monitor, but dugg for awesomeness.
- jizzimmy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5He sure is sitting close to those monitors. Awesome nonetheless.
- plastk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Hey, thanks for setting up the mirrors! I'm going to stick the links on my site to save some bandwidth so I don't get yelled at. If people dig the videos enough I'll probably front some extra cash to host very high-resolution clips that really show what this baby can do.
- gamekid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5It's too bad Windows XP can only handle 10. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/learnmore/multimonitor.mspx
Oh well. More for Linux. - Hawk4, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Wow. This must be really awesome. It's reached the front page of digg TWICE.
- tastypastry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It is cool, but personally I wouldnt be able to stand the 1inch plastic between all the monitors.
- retawd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3That comment is straight up stupid. I've used Linux, OSX, Windows for various tasks (techinical and non-tech) and there is no way a game is "more powerful" on a certain OS. This whole "my OS is my identity" thing is wicked annoying.
- baloniaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2yes, it has been before, but that was only pictures, this is video
- t3hX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Nice...
- iworkforus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5wallh4x0r
- pablodiaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hehe, I happen to work with people from that lab. I just saw their distributed projector calibration software. Pretty damn awesome. One day we'll see these beauties for sale as stackable projectors for home cinemas on steroids.
- swax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2agreed that guys sucks, camper!
- MoFoKeR, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2i guess its kool , if you like to see 1 inch wide plastic between your game play lol anyway i prefer my 70 inch hdtv big enuff
- EasY_TargeT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1oops my bad
- plastk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Actually, with UltraMon (http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/) you can use way more than 10 (up to 44 I think)? It's an excellent product (we use it for our 18 projector setup). Linux just makes it easier/cheaper to distribute the graphics to all the monitors with minimal slowdown.
- jreid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1my friends and I were just playing Quake III - Then i found this :P I'm about to show them :P
- tbaker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Here at York University (in Toronto) we have a virtual reality system, which can run Quake. It is very cool. I should post pictures
- EasY_TargeT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+124 monitors, who would stop with quake 3? gotta at least but out some q4, although that would be hard to render, but meh. AND WTF is he using as a ouse that looks tank.
- Tanpreet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1too bad the monitors have borders on them, but thats cool. what would be cooler if they had a jumbotron and they played something on that.
- sunnyd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What's impressive is that he can play it with a gyration mouse... ever try to aim quickly and accurately with that mouse?
- MoFoKeR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yea like a movie screen sized mofo
- pcgeek101, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2OK that's just disgustingly awesome ... and I don't know how else to do it justice. While Windows does have more support for games, the games that actually do run on linux are so much more powerful ... I wanna see this on UT2004 now.
- andr3y, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2old news!!!! yeah the website got updated, fine, but no need to redigg it all over
- RonDutt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My god that is godly!
Now only if they used one BIG screen rather than 24 small ones (so the screen borders were not present). - Perc, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3This is weeks old. Seriously.
- Predicament, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Come on you people, this is ridiculous, thumbing someone down just because they say it is a dupe when not only it is a dupe, it was on the front page? I can understand when it's some bitter person that submitted a story and it got buried, but this already had 3000+ diggs.
Digg should show users the same dupes that it shows the person when they are trying to submit a story.
How about a bad rating for people that go ahead and post dupes anyway too? The ones that are too lazy to check out the other stories digg shows, or automatically assume that none of those other stories are the same. - gamekid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1marcthelad wins. I saw that page before, searching for stuff* on how to connect multiple monitors.
*I'm not a senior writer for LiveScience, so I can use "stuff". /insidejoke - knightblade2oo4, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3he said that
quake 3, the thought of having 24 moniters, virginia tech, and that guy
are cool. - frizop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ya relax dude, the other one was just a few pictures and iirc a tech explination of how they got it to work like that.
- sinembarg0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1hey genius, this is the same website, but the dude added a video. heres a tip: when your IQ reaches 50, sell.
- jaydesh9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0that's awesome in all the bounds of insanity... :-)
- Maverick83, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It's a legitimate strategy!
- darkstar949, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0The gyro mouse that he was using seems interesting, but it also seems like your arm would get tired fairly quickly during extended use. It will be interesting to see how it catches on with the Nintendo Revolution.
- akira117, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1SO, no video of it playing quake is there!!!
(please make one) - cybernetic798, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2This is old news...
- panique, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1lol
- jeff1943, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Someone here is trolling comments. This story needs to be reported down.
- Reebok, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Very old news. And I'm guessing this has been sumbited before since they mentioned this on Diggnation.
- WoCo, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Hmm, a story just like this was up a couple of weeks ago...
