I hate going walmart anyways, everytime i go i get a new dent on the side of my new car. Anyway... The graphics were awesome on Call of Duty. The game play was great.
And it only gets better from here on out! - Dragular, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's odd that so many Walmarts don't have them... I live in the definition of Hickville, USA, and our walmart has one. Gotta say the controller feels nice, and I'm Sony Fanboy.
One thing that does bodder me tho is the fact that they're using hi-def monitors for the 360. Yeah, it makes the games look great, but the majority of your average Walmart shopper doesn't have a HD tv, or at least their game console won't be used on it.
Nevertheless I'm definately getting CoD2... be it for 360 or PS3 or PC, somehow I shall have to get this game after playing that demo. It was frozen when I got there so I asked the guy with the keys to the display case to reset it for me, he kindly obliged. I then tried to load King Kong and it gave me some ***** error screen about not being connected to a network and then rebooted itself, twice. So I tried to load Call of Duty 2 and it froze up on the load screen exactly as it had when I first saw it. I didn't ask the guy to reset it again, what was the point? The guy standing behind me watching me fiddle with it said he was going to buy one but wanted to see the graphics first, but after he saw it freeze up and reset repeatedly he said he was having second thoughts. I was pissed. So I'm waiting a year or two for them to fix those problems and come down in price. I'm not paying $400 for a system that can't load a demo without freezing.

I suspect (and hope) that the smarties at Wal-Mart configured the display or xbox incorrectly. Anyone else have a similar experience?
- chileman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I played the 360 at Wal-mart. Wasn't too incredibly impressed with CoD2. I'm 6 foot tall and the screen was about 3 foot higher than me and it killed my neck to see the damn thing. I'll just wait til I have one in the living room.

The games have nice shaders and everything, but that's about it. It can't really do anything more than a mid-high range PC as of now. I thought that the jaggies on the CoD 2 demo were really, really bad, but Kameo did look really nice. Then again, they're just launch titles, so I'm not going to write the console off right away

Um... almost as cool as when I went to Wal Mart the other day and played Call of Duty 2 for myself. I feel for the people who don't have a Wal Mart near them. Well, not really you lucky bastards! More I feel for those who have to put up with the evil of Wal Mart anyway, but are near one that doesn't at least have something cool like a 360 on display. But I can't see that being many. If the Wal Mart by me has one already they must be pretty common. I'm sure they will all have one soon enough. If you live so far in the boondocks that your Wal Mart doesn't have a 360 I can't see you having the highspeed internet connection to download these videos.
