- UhNathUhMuh, on 10/30/2009, -2/+36Too bad I hate racing games... One day, my virtual FPS will become a reality! Damn no respawn in RL... Ruining everything for me...
- Lavarock, on 10/30/2009, -0/+23IF YOU DIE IN THE GAME
YOU DIE FOR REAL - clippclop, on 10/30/2009, -4/+25I dont think these guys thought of the people who try to win races by taking all of the other cars out in the most violent way possible...
- RobotKeaton, on 10/30/2009, -0/+20yup. I'm just not sure how they work in the turtle shells.
- santiago1, on 10/30/2009, -1/+16 Quick! Somebody call Ender!
- jerrycan, on 10/30/2009, -0/+13I'm the guy in GPL driving the track backwards once I make a tiny error that result in dropping 15 places...
- docimodo, on 10/30/2009, -0/+12The concept of a photo realistic track made in this way is quite cool. I'm sure it would be possible to map an FPS environment in a similar way. Would be very cool!
- end3rthe3rd, on 10/30/2009, -0/+11You called?
=P - MacBookForMe, on 10/30/2009, -1/+12Want..it badly
- the8thbit, on 10/30/2009, -1/+8RTFA.
- the8thbit, on 10/30/2009, -0/+7Did anyone else notice that the video player lets you turn up the audio to 11? I ***** love the BBC.
- Ghostalker, on 10/30/2009, -0/+4Is Gerard Butler gonna be there?
- the8thbit, on 10/30/2009, -2/+6RTFA
- dj88masterchief, on 10/30/2009, -1/+5Wait, let me get this straight the camera takes a picture of 360 degrees of the whole track while riding on a car then you race a virtual car on the track?
- iceysan, on 10/30/2009, -0/+4Hold up on the 'awesome!' comments, try the game. I just played it, I had no idea how the car worked, it's like moving a brick around google maps, to say this is coming out next year, it's gonna flop hard.
- askantik, on 10/30/2009, -0/+3Yeah, BBC is awesome :].
- ninzo09, on 10/31/2009, -0/+3Is it just me or do the other 2 replies make any sense at all other than being incredibly funny on their own?
- Antialias, on 10/30/2009, -0/+3You're not controlling a real car. You are driving a virtual car against their real position on the track. It's like racing against another player online but instead of a controller they are driving a real car and you are using joystick, wheel or whatever sitting at your computer.
- smihalik, on 10/30/2009, -0/+2Sounds too good to be true. It will probably be incredibly lame. I'll stick to Granturismo and Forza untill I see that this doesnt suck.
- bratterscain, on 10/30/2009, -0/+2Too bad for you and good for the future military generations who will command mechanical warriors the way we play FPS. In the future, who knows, it may be who has the best bots and we play them like chess pieces. Because if you have really kickass robots who fight and fight and made better generation by generation, before long if your robot army is defeated, your human army won't be much match. Might as well be game over.
- Zdorab, on 10/30/2009, -0/+2I approve of this.
- AssShanks, on 10/30/2009, -0/+2Gerard Butler was inside that car driving.
- crossmr, on 10/31/2009, -0/+2and its going to look like *****.. its basically going to take some lame 2D "photo" of your car and lay it on top of existing video. Its going to be like that trucking game where you fell through bridges and could drive through houses..
- mustache, on 10/30/2009, -0/+2Is this all you post?
- Dunge, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1I tried the demo.... THIS ***** IT FUGLY!! DRIVING IS CRAP!! Navigating around in google street view is 100x better.
- inactive, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1I'd much rather Microsoft paid top gamers on Live for high scores, even if it is just with MS points.
- ASSASSYN360, on 11/01/2009, -0/+1...I would try to run people over...it is a game.
- newsound6, on 10/31/2009, -0/+1Why not just put a tag on a real racecar during a real race and then feed that data into a car on a virtual race running at the same time? Make it a ghost car.
Still seems pointless. - h0ly, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1Hmm... I don't think the sensors can capture material properties like e.g. specularity. The final result may look quite bland (unless an artist can later edit the track model).
- whatthefu, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1What about Mario Kart?!
- ninzo09, on 10/31/2009, -0/+1I can hardly see people investing.
- ThirdTimeBanned, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG...
- XFi6, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1They never even mentioned price, you ignorant prick. In fact since it should be available for the Xbox 360 in the future (assuming the "demo" the guy from BBC got to play will eventually turn into a real game for that platform) a normal person would guess the standard MSRP of $59.99 USD.
- bratterscain, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1I look forward to G(Google)TA Streetview. Quick, all you talented programmers, get with it.
- the8thbit, on 10/30/2009, -1/+2RTFA
- ninzo09, on 10/31/2009, -0/+1I can hardly see people.
- 1337BEEF, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1That's ***** awesome.
- Larssonk22, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1jaggy as hell
/s - Koushiro, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1This sounds interesting but it hardly sounds like a fair competition since the real drivers will have to worry about the risks they take.
- OverZealousHobo, on 11/02/2009, -0/+1seems a bit on the impractical side....
- Larssonk22, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1carry a knife you'll be able to run faster!
- the8thbit, on 10/31/2009, -0/+1RTFA
- blanktarget, on 10/31/2009, -0/+1Ho Ender.
- msgdealer, on 10/31/2009, -0/+1Sweet, I've always wanted to try using opposing cars as brakes around corners.
- bubbachuck, on 10/31/2009, -0/+1said technology consists of video gamers getting off their asses, going outside, and exercising
- Spinzy, on 10/30/2009, -0/+0teleportation?
- Intrusionv2, on 10/30/2009, -2/+2This in-itself is not that cool, but the concept behind it may lead to potentially wild games.
- ninzo09, on 10/31/2009, -1/+1That's what she said.
About my *****. - Speedy7, on 10/30/2009, -2/+2Modern Warfare 2 springs to mind.
