- dongiaconia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Those are great. When I saw the duck hunt one with the dog, I heard the Dah-du-ta-du-ta-du-do sound in my head...

It's Lego!"
Why do you British insist on calling it maths?
It's Math! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"How is this tech?"
Its related to video games u buttdart! - SpacemanSpiff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Bionic Commando: best NES game ever.
- Nobi-Wan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No Contra or Punch Out?
I still digg it. - opstand, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is awesome. I love the Bionic Commando (my fav NES game) one, although the Metal Gear ones were probably the best.
- aywwts4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"GENIUS! This dude needs to find a J-O-B!!!"
Yes, because anyone who has a creative hobby is unemployed and should be out doing something constructive like curing cancer, while we comment on digg... - I8PP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Not what I had in mind when I saw the title, still pretty good though. You can make brilliant pixel art with Lego, but then, you'd need 61440 1*1*1 or 1*1*(1/3) pieces to make a single NES screen. If someone wants to send me a million suitable Lego bricks I'll gladly give this a shot.
- spect3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice..
- Matt-lars, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That is awesome

"Not that this is a bad dig, but why Lego gets more stories than f.e. Linux . :-/"
Because the people (who are basically the editors) care more about this than Linux :P - Pooley, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Why do you Americans insist on calling it legos?
It's Lego! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0brilliant! Anyone seen the Lego sculptures in Orlando? I think it's Universal or MGM? Or was it Disney?
- Lathrop, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"Bloody retards!
"Lego is both plural and singular."
If you're going to be like that, the name of the company is LEGO and they make LEGO BRICKS AND TOYS. So it would be "Video game scenes recreated in lego BRICKS" - jccalhoun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Can someone explain the appeal of X made with/in Y??? Films made in ASCII? With Bunnies? In lego? Sure it was amusing the first time I saw it, but that was years ago. They all seem the same to me. How is this entertaining? So when someone makes ASCII lego bunnies the internet will crash with all the people looking at it?

Digg is a news site, yes it started of tech but, the creators want it too be way more than that.
Remember peeps, there's more to life than tech! - nene7070, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wow... just... wow. awesome stuff
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0pretty funny.
- Miles314, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I agree that it's cool, but it also makes you ask yourself some questions. Like, what type of person has this many lego blocks around his house? Did he acquire them over the years or buy them in a binge? Is this person psychotic?
- dpc5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Not that this is a bad dig, but why Lego gets more stories than f.e. Linux . :-/
Yeah, I'm just new here ... - jumjum, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A culture war on how to pronounce "Lego"? Good God peeps, get lives.
Gamekid, the Japanese Metal Gear came out on the MSX a year earlier than the American version, looked slightly better, and basically had the same layout even though the colors were different and brighter. I still naturally prefer the American version because it's more guttural. - Bluntzilla, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2this guy needs a girlfriend
- Polaris75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is completely bad ass ... AMAZING job ...
- aaronlidman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0pure genius, love it.

- I8PP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lego
The Lego Group's name has become so synonymous with its flagship toy that many use the words "Lego" (collectively) or "Legos" to refer to the bricks themselves, and even to any plastic bricks resembling Lego bricks, although the Lego Group discourages this as dilution of their trademark. Lego catalogues in the 1970s and 1980s contained a note that read:
The word LEGO® is a brand name and is very special to all of us in the LEGO Group Companies. We would sincerely like your help in keeping it special. Please always refer to our bricks as 'LEGO Bricks or Toys' and not 'LEGOS.' By doing so, you will be helping to protect and preserve a brand of which we are very proud and that stands for quality the world over. Thank you! Susan Williams, Consumer Services.
"Lego" is officially written in all uppercase letters. The company asserts that to protect its brand name, the word Lego must always be used as an adjective, as in "LEGO set," "LEGO products," "LEGO universe," and so forth. Nevertheless, such corporate admonitions are frequently ignored, and the word lego is commonly used not only as a noun to refer to Lego bricks, but also as a generic term referring to any kind of interlocking toy brick.
"Legot" (or "leegot"), plural form of "lego" (or "leego") is also used as a Finnish slang term for human teeth, because of the rectangular shape of the teeth. - LaughingMan11, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Big DIGG.
- Usobe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Too much free time? NEVER!
- Double-Z, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Can someone explain the appeal of X made with/in Y???"
Natural human curiosity, I guess. - gamekid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0""Can someone explain the appeal of X made with/in Y???"
Natural human curiosity, I guess."
Dont forget memories. The Excitebike and Duck Hunt ones are especially nostalgic (and kick-ass). Extra bonus for the Metal Gear ones (though I hear the original Japanese one was far different...). Aw, hell, I love 'em all. - Massif, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Can someone explain the appeal of X made with/in Y???"
It's cute, it's funny, it's geeky, it's nostalgic, it's creative. It's really a form of art. (maybe not the ascii movies since they just use a program to convert a movie to ascii)
Also, people are always amazed when people spend a lot of time on something totally unproductive. - AttroPheed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Reminds me of some sweet Metal Gear engrish.
"uh oh! The truck have started to move!" - kuenz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this dude has some mad lego skillz.
Brings me back to my childhood, Nintendo and LEGOs. - edrift101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I love the Excitebike scene! Pretty cool.
- cbenard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It's Lego blocks, not Legos.

- dongiaconia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wouldn't it be LEGO's Bricks then? :D
- chaosbuddha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the Metal Gear scene is wrong, theres supposed to be a star where the rank is instead of a circle
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0LEGO and GAMES on the same sentence? DIGG++!!!!
- gamekid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"uh oh! The truck have started to move!"
Ah yes. The days of not-so-well-translated games. I think people finally noticed in FF7; since then English translations have had few grammar/spelling problems (even if they're not accurate to the original...). - Jams, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Some more info on the name Lego:
The company name Lego was coined by Christiansen from the Danish phrase leg godt, meaning "play well". - kitykity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This was on rocketboom today!
- wilerson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"So when someone makes ASCII lego bunnies the internet will crash with all the people looking at it?"
No. It will crash when someone from Google makes ASCII lego bunnies run on iPod. -
