- Odweaver, on 10/12/2007, -6/+77When Uwe made the contest, he left out the fact that he is a semi-proffesional boxer.
- AwesomeMonster, on 10/12/2007, -11/+77Doesn't Uwe get it? Lowtax is just making a mockery of his childish PR move. Uwe is such a douche, hes like the kid who got bad grades and when people made fun of him he just said "SO!?, I COULD BEAT YOU UP IF I WANTED TO."
- mikesol, on 10/12/2007, -17/+81Lowtax won in the hearts and minds of the people.
- TheSaladMan, on 10/12/2007, -6/+69Does this guy actually like being hated? He makes REALLY bad movies, then beats up people who don't like them.
- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -6/+64He may have won that fight but his movies are still *****.
- DisposableRob, on 10/12/2007, -10/+46"When Uwe made the contest, he left out the fact that he is a semi-proffesional boxer."
When someone calls out a challenge for all comers for a boxing match, you better expect that they know a little bit about boxing. This shouldn't have been too much of a surprise for any of the takers. - dicerandom, on 10/12/2007, -7/+36I didn't see any dirty fighting there. OK, so the guy made some ***** movies. So Lowtax ripped on him some over at SA. Once you accept a challenge you follow through with it, Lowtax had zero obligation to accept this guy's challenge. Just because he lost fair and square doesn't mean that the other guy's movies suck any less.
Nonetheless, bravo for an entertaining clip. - BenSerwa, on 10/12/2007, -3/+32Now, let's be serious. Lowtax is an internet guy who runs a website, not a freakin' semi-professional boxer. Lowtax had some balls even participating in the match, let alone going as long as he did. Boxing isn't street brawling, it requires technique, and Lowtax was out of his element, but Uwe was in his.
Uwe should probably stick to boxing and stop directing movies... - Crashwithuhk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30Hey nice job. You won. Oh wait whats that? Looks like your movies still suck Uwe.
- Hootyea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25His movies have the story of a porn movie. They have the dialogue of a porn movie. They have the acting of a porn movie. But alas, no porn.
- Anth, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22"Kyanka dances around as if this was some sort of joke"
apparently he has never seen somethingawful.com. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+30"Does this guy actually like being hated?"
Yeah, he should have thrown the fight, then everyone would like him and no one would ridicule him for losing to lowtax.
No one was forced to accept his challenge, so all i see is lowtax making an ass of himself, and then making some really crappy excuses for losing in the SA forums - namunamu, on 10/12/2007, -10/+30By the way, Lowtax bans anyone who calls him a ***** or insults him on the internet, even if it didn't happen on the SA forums. So if you post on SA and your digg name is the same, then make a new digg account before pointing out that Lowtax is a sad, pathetic manchild and loses at life.
- VRFour, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22Wow. That was pathetic. Uwe Boll should be ashamed of himself for taking advantage of those horribly unprepared "fighters" and Lowtax should be ashamed of himself for signing up for such a ridiculous PR stunt and then prancing around the ring like a fairy. No one wins in this one.
- oOLiquidNightOo, on 10/12/2007, -11/+30battle of the morons.
- Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21shut up.
- goblindegook, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21"whose the jackass that keeps funding this ass clowns movies"
German taxpayers: "Boll is able to acquire funding thanks to German tax laws that reward investments in film. The law allows investors in German-owned films to write off 100% of their investment as a tax deduction; it also allows them to invest borrowed money and write off any fees associated with the loan. The investor is then only required to pay taxes on the profits made by the movie; if the movie loses money, the investor gets a tax writeoff." (From the Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uwe_Boll#Financing.)
Also, for the sake of communication, learn at least some punctuation. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22that fight was sure something awful
- Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17Consider yourself very, very lucky.
- garg, on 10/12/2007, -6/+21he's good at beating up untrained internet writers while being a semi-pro boxer who lied that it was going to be a joke boxing match?
- Daiken, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Hmmm, atleast Uwe isn't bad at everything. I think he still needs to change professions though.
- keswick, on 10/12/2007, -14/+29I digg anything that involves Lowtax getting his ass beaten.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17I have never seen a Uwe Boll movie
- azzageddi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Yeah, I was really rooting for Dan Morris to get the go-ahead. Surely he's bigger than Lowtax, both as a critic and just physically bigger. I'm betting he wouldn't have acted like a fool in the ring, either. As much as I hate Uwe's movies, I found myself enjoying watching Lowtax get pummeled.
- Valtiel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15It's as if Lowtax has never played Super Punch-Out before.
- Jugalator, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19Who's getting ass-kicked is irrelevant, Uwe's hiding he was an earlier boxer and saying it was a PR thing is. I mean, how lame do you have to be to do all this just to get some attention, and it won't even be of the good kind? Because Lowtax made fun of him on a comedy site. Just ridiculous, and Uwe can't take it like a man.
- AwesomeMonster, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16So nobody else saw Lowtax dancing and running around the ring like a 6 year old? He wasnt taking this fight seriously at all, dont kid yourself that Uwe made him look bad.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14So, the one thing this film maker is good at is boxing.
Maybe he should go after a full time boxing career instead of directing awful movies? - championchap, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15"How is this news? Nerd annoys jock, jock beats up nerd, nerd whines and snivels. He should count himself lucky Boll didn't crap on his face.
Nerds always lose against jocks. Always. They're born losers anyway."
Then what the ***** are you doing on digg?!! - garg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Are there any big, semi-pro boxer movie critics out there who could write a terrible review for boll's movies AND beat him at boxing?
If so, then that would be awesome. - dmann, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12The aintitcool.com guy wasn't allowed to train either. Harry was gonna hook him up with Stallone and the people at the Contender. At least, that's the rumor. I applied, but I actually took some boxing classes once, so i wasn't allowed. Basically any athletic background, even in High School, and they suddenly started ignoring you.
It's all about him stacking the deck like a pussy ass. - garg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11He probably tried and only got good enough to be considered "semi-pro"
- norman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10i can personally confirm that dan is very pissed about this.
- humanerror, on 04/03/2008, -5/+14What are you talking about? Uwe offered to fight any comers. Lowtax chose to challenge him and fight him in the ring. Lowtax lost.
Obviously, Uwe is an idiot. But how can you try to turn this to make Lowtax look any better? He tried to beat up a movie director and got his ass handed to him in the most pathetic and embarassing way imaginable, right in front of everyone. - azzageddi, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13Boll's boxing background and the fact that he's a big, tough mofo should have been easily uncovered by anyone who knows how to use Google, so "conveniently leaving out" that he was once a semi-pro boxer is a BS excuse. Anyone going up against him chose to be there and had plenty of time to train--sure, it wasn't enough time to turn a little wimp like Lowtax into a real boxer, but how many years would he need for that? And I didn't see any dirty fighting. Granted the video doesn't offer the clearest view, but why would Boll need to fight dirty against that guy?
Now I ain't defending Boll as a director--at that, he sucks, no doubt. But if these guys took up the challenge they should do their best and not make whiny excuses for why they got the crap knocked out of them. - Absalon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9the guy from pc gamer enter the contest.. never got a response.. uwe is a wuss!
- garg, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12Here is the official thread at SA:
http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?s=0e4befc307a5107c69407fbf74b20d11&threadid=2083776&perpage=40&pagenumber=1 - humanerror, on 04/03/2008, -19/+27He's "making a mockery" by accepting his challenge and getting his ass kicked?
Are you seriously saying that? - Ennoch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8People who run internet sites are well known for being extremely sportive. They have special sportive typing muscles, that can cause their arms to fly out and cause intense damage - like a ninja. Overuse of ninja-sportive powers is the main cause of RSI.
- allisonaxe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8personally, if I was there, i would have just gone into the ring not expecting to win....... and just kicked him in the balls at the very start of the fight. sure, i'd be disqualified, but to kick Uwe Boll in the nads? totally worth it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12You pronounce his name OOO-WAH? Am I the only one that thought you pronounce "Uwe" as "You" ?
- iamnotcreative, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Actually, Niku, Boll didn't offer to fight all comers. He always had the final say in who could and could not fight. Therefore he picked 4 people who were least likely to actually fight and win. Hell one of the participants was a 17 year old.
Lowtax never went in with the intention of 'trying to beat up a movie director', he did it for the comedy value. The fact that Boll took what was he originally said was a PR stunt and turned it into something serious shows how absolutely pathetic the man really is. - montezumamike, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9My only regret about Uwe Boll is that the ***** movies he makes can't be remade without somebody paying out the ass for the rights. Luckily, he has yet to get the rights to any game that might make a half-decent movie. Woot for discerning copyright owners.
- TechnoPops, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Former EIC, Dan Morris. They've discussed it quite a bit on the PCG podcast.
- catoutfit, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Someone give me that guy's email address: his movies are TERRIBLE. If he wants to fight me..fine: I'm 2nd Dan Aikido. Boxing is for retards.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6http://youtube.com/watch?v=SawIGMfpktE&mode=related&search=
This is the promo to the fights. I assume this is pretty old, but listen to all that hype. It's pretty funny. They even go down and call Uwe a "legendary filmaker". You get to hear Uwe talk alot too, which is pretty funny. He also says that they picked 4 "sportive" guys who fit the "profile". Really? Lowtax didn't look that "sportive". - mandarin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6A semi-professional boxer and a semi-professional director..
- millixaw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Wow, Uwe you won the fight. Your movies are GOOD now.
Not. - RabbiRob, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8No, you say "prophet" because you confuse it with "profit". If there was any prophecy involved, investors would know the film would lose money. It would be unprofitable.
- koktakee, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11"Y'khnow what? I'll take Lotax (pussy) AND Uwe Boll in a 3way fight to the beatdown."
Whew! Uwe's gone so I guess we can all go back to being tough guys here behind our safe keyboards now. LOL. Everybody with a blog should get a beatdown on general principles.
This is what happens when little internet kids mistake blogs for relevant social data. -
