Welcome to 1999!
Sites that say that at the top should be shut down. I hope digg sets this site's servers aflame. - Durinthal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10..is that resolution even possible?
And there's a pair of updates from 11/07. Are they updating from the future? - magicmarc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The site does seem to let their opinions show about consoles. The game boy, they talk about its "pathetically small and blurry screen", or the Game boy camera was "one of the coolest Ideas to come out of Nintendo".
Im not complaining, I just perhaps think this should be separated from their actual facts. - EvolvedAnt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5This website is outdated.
Many pages state things that will happen in future dates that have already passed.
There isn't even a section on the Nintendo Wii.
Further, he expresses too much personal opinion on many topics (which wouldn't be such a problem if it wasn't on irrelevant points), and not enough facts or history.
Some consoles he flat out states he was too lazy to research, and others he skips over history info because he assumes we all know the history of the SNES for instance.
For the final nail in the coffin, he knows absolutely nothing about the investor scandels involved with the Phantom console, and actualy claims the system never showed up simply because they ran out of money.
Really, wikipedia is 100 times more informational than this.
Marked as lame. - jacobmiller, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_game_consoles
- abortedddd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Great find, I like reading up on relatively unknown consoles.
- jpbleuu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4hey tralalaa
way to be a DICK - alphacorvus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Dugg for Samurai 2000 Fun Grizzler alone.
http://ultimateconsoledatabase.com/famiclones/samurai_2000.htm - flosty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hmm... but it did. A little over 3500.
How did you figure it didn't have that many? You *thought* it didn't? Well, you were wrong. - theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hmm. No Mike Tyson's Punch-Out on that list. So maybe, just maybe, there are a few more titles available for the NES than you think.
- LordSkippy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Anyone else find it really annoying when a site uses asterisks, but doesn't tell you what they're suppose to mean?
- daridave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Meh. I don't like it.
Yeah, the list of consoles is good, but have you read the text? There's some facts, but his stupid opinions kill it if you ask me.
Not only does this look like a 1998 AngelFire-hosted page, the content is bad, and he's asking people to run at 1280x1024? ROFL... no digg, sorry. - Kaioshin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Windwalker? WALKER!?
- Durinthal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Windwalker, Hyrule Ranger.
- cardyology, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I used to rock the Vectrex at my local youth club. Asteroids was the only game they had and that was built in!
This guy seems to remember things by how much drugs he was buying at the time he discovered each console.
EG: "Oh the SNES! I remember my first encounter with the SNES when me and my buddy were out scoring an eighth of PCP from a crackhead in the Bronx. He'd just ram-raided Wal-Mart so he had a SNES jus laying around!! Good old Nintendo. Those were the days..." - scratched, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@Firehed
The site does say 1280 x 1284, not 1280 x 1024 Check it again. - tuxthepenguin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3oh you son of a bitch... i actually clicked that
- Hawanja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hello Folks, thanks all of you who liked the site, as for the rest, well I am open to creative criticism.
As several of you have pointed out there is a lot of opinion on the site, becasue that's what it's about, my opinion. I'm in the process of rewriting a lot of the mainstream console pages to make them more fact orientated, but the core is about my personal experiences with the consoles I own (where applicable.) That's what it's about, just writing "the facts" is too dry, as you've all said that's what Wikipedia is for. I like to try them out myself when I can.
KamilX: Yes, a lot of the pages do need updating. Most of them are from 2000-2003. I'm in the process of updating many of the pages.
Scratched: Actually I test it in Firefox as that's my browser of choice, however since 85% of the people who visit my site use IE then I like to make sure it looks the same in that browser also.
MikeFresh: There's no Wii or PS3 entry yet becasue I haven't had the chance to go mess around with one.
Nightschao: You think the site looks bad now, you should have seen it a year ago :)
LordSkippy: The asterisks * next to various consoles denotes a console that is in my personal collection ( as explained on this page: http://ultimateconsoledatabase.com/systems02.htm ) I need to go through it and update those too as I own a few more, for instance I just got my hands on a Gakken Compact Vision TV Boy.
QuickSilver & Linkster47: I don't own Zelda OOT. So I misspelled it. So sue me.
Subassy: Your friend probably was referring to the Atari Jaguar, as that's the console Atari had out around that time with the kitty cat name.
Nescheck: That's becasue I was a Lik-Sang affilliate until Sony closed them down recently. ***** Sony. Now I gotta go through and remove all refrences to Lik Sang. Bastards.
svMidtown: You got some pics of those controllers you want to share? I'll use them. By the way, there is no "they" on the site, just me, singular, by myself, running it out of my tiny-ass apartment.
EvolvedAnt: Yeah, I don't know anything about the Phantom console financial scandals. Could you point me in the right direction? Becasue I really do want to have accurate info on the site.
Cardyology: Drugs and videogames go hand in hand! Seriously though, that was a true story, I first time I ever saw a Vetrex was while attempting to score way back when I was in highschool. I've never done PCP though.
Anyway thanks to you all, even you who think the site looks like *****, becasue it does. But you know, I continue to tweak it on a daily basis, and I'm open to suggestion. My email is already in the thread there so suggest away. And you're all welcome to join my forums that I just set up, they're brand new so we need good people to get the party started. Please come and visit and enjoy your stay.
-Mark (Hawanja) - Firehed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well the site said 1280x1024, he just mangled copying it. But everyone was definitely using 800x600 back in 1999 when we used to see stupid messages like that.
The good news is that the site is just as effective at scalding my retinas in Firefox for Mac at some random portion of 1440x900, so no worries. - LucerinRed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I wish they would add what countries these were released in. because I'm 99% sure that I have every console released in the US since 85 except for the pippin and the neogeo
- PFS1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2>> Im not complaining, I just perhaps think this should be separated from their actual facts.
Agreed. Here's a gem from the N64 page:
"Usually if you put the N64 version of a game right next to a Playstation, the N64 has better graphics, the Playstation has better sound and playability." - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2decent reply i thought - good on you mate for keeping it up and runnng.
Search engine please :) - bobothn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1what about what ever this is http://www.classicgaming.com/gamingmuseum/kmartsc8000.html I know it is a video game consol (because i own it) but it is not on the list.
- kamilX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The individual pages need updating... for instance the NES page:
"Many Famicom/Nes games are being Reborn as GBA special editions or E-Reader cards, and the Nintendo Revolution promises the abiltiy to download past NES titles."
I still miss the name Revolution, but in the end I think the Wii is better from a marketing perspective ;-) - SvMidtown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Decent information, but I went to the Xbox section of the site and they had the special edition Mountain Dew and the special edition EA, but the didn't have the special edition halo console/controllers.
Just pointing it out. Not saying anything horrible just surprised that they didn't have something as common/big as that. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Good site but needs a search engine - lots to wade through
- AClayeJ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1cool
- Splitt3rxx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2tons of info, but the site layout could use some work. dugg
- bossmanthe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow. I found a console I used to have. Walk down memory lane!
- flazz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1time to assimilate into wikipedia, resistance is futile.
- Dr.Finger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've been trying to remember the name of a console I had as a toddler, and they had, The Coleco Telestar. Although it looked a lot bigger to my little eyes back then.
- quickslvr1287, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1how do you have an article on the N64 and not even mention OOT? I mean not even MENTION it?!?!?
- NiGHTSChao, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1to bad the site looks like *****
- neschek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What? No GP2X? Also makes references to buying stuff at Lik-Sang. So, uh, well. A little dated.
- MalDON, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ok, this may be a good resource, but the owner of the site is missing a lot of details and runs a lot of his information off of false speculation from before the console was released. Just read the 360 page.
If you were to use any info he cites on the site, check it first with another good source. Don't want to make yourself look like an idiot.
Also, note the lacking PS3... - ComputerDudes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The first thing I looked at was my old Atari 5200. The site bashed it for not being able to play 2600 games. WRONG, I owned one and you could buy an adapter to allow you to play 2600 games. That was one of the things that made this so great. The system was way ahead of its time in many ways.
Buried for inaccuracy. - Linkster47, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Machine comes with Dr. Mario built in, as well as a 10 hour demo of The Legend of Zelda: The Oceanaria of Time, 7 hour demo of Mario 64, and 1 hour demos of Waverace and Starfox 64."
The Legend of Zelda: The Oceanaria of Time???
Did this guy even use spell check? - theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@LucerinRed
Under "Famiclones" he mentions that many of them are from Brazil, China and other countries.
Personally, I want to get my hands on a SNES CD Station. I know you can do the basically the same thing using a Dreamcast, but nothing beats using the original controllers a game was designed around. - MikeEFresh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No Wii?
No PS3? - orb_nsc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There's some nice stuff there, but I want to punch him for every time he refers to something as "dope".
- Spampy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://cgi.ebay.com/NES-NINTENDO-EVERY-GAME-EVER-MADE-774-GAMES-IN-ALL_W0QQitemZ110087215076QQihZ001QQcategoryZ62053QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Email him and let him know how retarded he is when it comes to IE. - Merrick178, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What kind of pathetic excuse for a website is this? Not only does the site look like it's put together by a 3rd grader, it also reads like it was written by a 3rd grader. Every page is written with words like "sweeeeeet" and "niiiice" and he's always bragging about his job as a video game tester, which I bet he doesn't even hold because he's in ***** 3rd grade. How this made it to the front page terrifies me, every day I lose more faith in Digg society. =(
- inkubux, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1ps3 is not console it's a pc ^^
Sony told this lol - Subassy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I used to have a buddy who said he saw a console called the "Atari Cougar" at radio shack in L.A. It was supposed to be a 16-bit system around the time of SNES/Genesis. I can't seem to find information on it any where. Any body ever heard of it?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I smell trolls in this thread fixing comments.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0reply is broken.
- bonklit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0DB isn't so accurate.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Hey, maybe he's sick of these ***** idiots that roam around digg thinking they know ***** when they don't.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0NES only had like 700 titles.
You people are stupid. You can't digg him down, he gave you proof. -
