- Cwo655321, on 10/12/2007, -11/+100is this good or bad?
i've never heard of any of those games - dolemite5005, on 10/12/2007, -33/+106Darn, two games I would have never purchased are going to a console I'll never purchase.
- magicjames92, on 10/12/2007, -18/+69what and what?
- gumby05, on 10/12/2007, -1/+41wasn't crossfire that board game where two kids in leather jackets would shoot pinballs at each other?
Crossfiya!! - Herffinator, on 10/12/2007, -15/+41So these were going to be big titles?
- BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -5/+27Kane & Lynch I've heard about awhile back. It looks pretty cool. The reason why not many people know about it is because it hasn't been hyped all that much, mainly due to the lack of information on the game and lack of media.
A description of the game:
"Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is a third person action game that features co-op play with squad tactics."

The game is made by the developers of the Hitman series. - coheedcollapse, on 10/12/2007, -18/+40It's hilarious how people love to bitch about how unknown a title is. Well you know what? Grand Theft Auto III had a pretty much nonexistant console fanbase when it was released and the only reason my friends I were excited about it was because we had played the others to death pretty much constantly when we were younger. I remember literally playing and beating the game before most people even knew about the series.
Sure, there's a chance that the game will suck all sorts of ass on both consoles, but the fact that it's unknown and underhyped is no reason to whip out your sarcastic, ***** comments. - TheTaoOfBill, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Actually the older GTAs were popular too. They just exploded with popularity when they hit the 3D market. But they had a significant fan base. They weren't huge but there was definitely quite a few people excited over GTA3 because they knew the quality they were getting from a GTA game.
- Thorlord, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16is crossfire the one that Valve was touting with some weird hybrid of online singleplayer?
i did RTFA, but im curious as to what that games name was.
again, if i was an xbox elitest.. which some do call me.. i wouldent really be to upset about these games going multi console, i would be upset on titles like "KOTOR" losing exclusivity.
but personally, i really don't care, if they are good games, then that means with this announcement that more people can enjoy them, if they suck.. well then its just spreading around the turdpaste. - TheXeno, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Croooosssfiya! Yoooou'll get caught up in the---CROOOSSSFIYA!
- TheCash, on 10/12/2007, -20/+31I've never heard of either game, and seeing how both will most likely be no-name throw-aways, who cares?
Both ports will probably be in the bargain bin 6 months after release anyway. - duke_nate, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Honestly, go choke on something.
- Snakedal337, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12P$3...
Thats clever, I see what you did there - TheCash, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Cross-Fi-Yah! You'll get caught up in it!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4M-WmQWEJRo - sancho, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12The Bluray player is currently worth it--the PS3 is still the cheapest Bluray player on the market. If you WANT Bluray, it's a good buy.
The rest.. Wifi, hard drive.. etc.. It's all pretty irrelevant until games come out for it.
A lot of tech under the hood does not make a good console. The Wii is currently outselling every other console, but is indisputably the most underpowered of the current generation. - chembro84, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11I worked at Funcoland when GTA III came out, we had 1 pre order, and received a grand total of 5 copies the day it was released, it didn't sell out for weeks, all the sudden (a month or two later) that game became a huge hit, but the day it came out we hardly even noticed (compare that to Vice City where we had an 80's theme in the store for the release just a little over a year later)
- abcdefghij, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I think it's just a sign of what's to come..
it's leveling the playing fields and it benefits _us_, the customers..
all that jiggamathing from the fanbois about who gets the exclusive are going to get old soon.. it's not like we get splashed with some of the profit if one console gets an exclusive title. - coheedcollapse, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12@thecash
Are you kidding? I've grown up playing computer games. I lived on Zork, Commander Keen, and Space Quest. I played Wolfenstein and Doom when they and I own the original GTA and GTA II discs which I had played forever before PS2 was even announced. (I was upset when I couldn't run over a line of Elvis impersonators in GTA III). I even remember installing and playing them both again for days on end before GTA III came out.
Don't assume I'm too young just because my personal experiences tell me that GTA had nothing close to the saturation that what Digg would consider a "worthy" game has. GTA was released in 1998, I was 14 - not as educated as I am not, but damn well aware of what was happening around me when it came to the series.
Trust me, I knew my crap. The thing is - I'm positive if Digg were around plenty of people would be saying the same damn thing. I mean sure - this game has absolutely no past recognition to go on - but that doesn't mean it's any less worthy of a chance than the first 3D Grand Theft Auto. - alx242, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Wrong! The read data cycle of a Blu-Ray is a hell of a lot bigger then a DVD or CD...its faster then any of those.
- g3r4, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I'm not sure about everyone else, but I can't see myself playing the Wii for more than 5 minutes. I hate mini games, which seems to be what the Wii does best right now. Sure, there's a few full games, but as is people buy it for the multiplayer and the back catalog of 8/16bit games. If I want to play Super Mario Bros/World, Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy 6, I know where to find them... So the buy 2 for 1 thing won't apply to everyone. (Not to mention, if you want to look at it from a nonprice stand point, the PS3 has the sixaxis and good graphics so its also a 2 for 1)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7lol, I remember that commercial. Classic!
- BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Personally, I love the Hitman series, and so do critics.
http://www.metacritic.com/search/process?sort=relevance&termType=all&ts=hitman&ty=0&x=0&y=0 - apoc06, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6with the exception of maybe motorstorm, most of my ps3 games' loadtimes are comparable to my xbox360 games.
the blu-ray drive isnt slow at all. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Kane & Lynch and Crossfire were first confirmed to be in development for the Xbox 360 and the PC only. However, with SCi entertainment's new strategy, these two games will come to PlayStation 3 as well now. The game will be released simultaneously on all three platforms.
The new strategy is to release new next-generation titles once the next-gen consoles have a significant installed base. SCi believes the PlayStation 3 will reach this significant installed base in 2008.
Kane & Lynch will be out before Christmas 2007 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. And Crossfire will be released in early 2008 when the installed base has benefited from the Christmas purchases.
link: http://www.psu.com/node/10181 - jacksons98, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@themanautomatic That's one reason I went PS3. It seems like almost everything good for X360 is automatically coming to PC too.
- djSyndrome, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Sony is using Final Fantasy XIII in their Japanese advertising for the PS3. If that's not an exclusivity agreement, I don't know what is. Don't believe me? http://youtube.com/watch?v=YTHy4BrXi00
For the zillionth time. It's. Not. Going. To. The. 360. - MWeather, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Yep. Blu-Ray won.
- Sk8SkaNJ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6The Crossing is the game you're thinking of. Also Valve isn't developing it, just the guy who used to work at Valve (art director for HL2) is working with one of the dev teams who made Dark Messiah of M&M.
- TheCash, on 10/12/2007, -8/+12Grand Theft Auto had HUGE name brand recognition when the third in the series came out, even if that was the title that launched the series into ultra-popular status.
Anyone who says different is obviously too young to know different, so their opinion is next to worthless. - MWeather, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5"The rest.. Wifi, hard drive.. etc.. It's all pretty irrelevant until games come out for it."
I use Wifi for remote play on my PSP and to transfer PS1 games and saves to my psp. I also have several games on my hard drive (Tekken 5, Need for Speed, PS1 Games, Qbert, Demos etc.) as well as my music, videos, etc. - THEMACGOD, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Whatever...
Just get me Kane and Lynch. - g3r4, on 10/12/2007, -8/+12If you want to be technical, you save a "***** ton" on the ps3, if you consider that its a BluRay player, with built in WiFi, a card reader, easy to swap HDD, and free (albeit *****) online service. (If I forgot anything, sorry). It's not got a whole lot going on for games right now, but still, that's a lot of tech under the hood for the price.

From the screens it looks pretty cool... Totally looks like "Hitman Co-op" or something. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Kane & Lynch and Crossfire were first confirmed to be in development for the Xbox 360 and the PC only. link: http://www.psu.com/node/10181 - fallenone05, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Hopefully Bioshock will be officially announced as well
- themanautomatic, on 10/12/2007, -7/+10These were never exclusives to begin with. The reason that it wasn't announced earlier is probably because SCi was still negotiating with Sony. All of IO/SCi's games go cross platform. They always did. People need to get off the exclusives hype wagon.
- epiccollision, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4wow what a waste...
- posure, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I've been playing GTA2 on a regular basis since the day it came out, one of my favorite games of all time...that game never gets old (plus Rockstar made it free now). The multiplayer is awesome too, although the netcode sucks pretty hard.
GTA2 > GTA3/VC/SA - overbyte, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3who and what now?
- JohnyD, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7bugmenot2 - "The game is made by the developers of the Hitman series."
LOL.... the Hitman series is awwful! This isn't news.... it was probably posted by a buncha PS3 haters. Good job! :D - PunkRampant, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7They each have powerful followings... you could have said something like that last generation, but times have changed.
- tokyostory, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4"Sony fanboys are gay"
Okay, are we in middle school?
I'm not in favor of any one system over the other. Competition promotes ideas and quality.
Search for "homophobic gamers forum -fags" in Google and I'm sure you'll find a website pretty much tailored to fit your needs. If not, make one. - ZeroMP, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3overbyte: I think they said two more ports that will have washed out colors and messed up lighting.
I think we can all look forward to a few more "side-by-side" comparison shots of these games when they are finished, as well as the comments that say: "360 looks way better" and "yeah but the game wasn't built for the PS3.." etc. - qpdb, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7This is first time I have seen it go in this direction
- TrainwreckX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Pretty sure Kane & Lynch was coming to the PS3 the whole time. Then again this is just posted on some ***** blog, so he is probably just trying to make news out of old news.
- testdrivemedia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Bye bye exclusives :( It's starting to seem pointless to buy BOTH the PS3 and Xbox360 now. What with most of the big titles slowing going multiplatform. Perhaps i should just stick with my x360. Eventually ever ps3 of any real value will end up on both consoles and vise versa.
- GasPoweredGnome, on 10/12/2007, -12/+13"I've never heard of either game, and seeing how both will most likely be no-name throw-aways, who cares?"
Uhhh Kane and Lynch is a pretty big title. - strictnein, on 10/12/2007, -7/+8@coheedcollapse:
GTA unpopular until GTA III? What are you smoking? - allenu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Oh man, awesome. I thought I was the only one who immediately thought of that game.
- g3r4, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4And I didn't say it did. Hence the "free (albeit *****) online service" and "not got a whole lot going on for games" comments, which proves your point. My point was that you really don't get your money's worth as far as hardware with the 360 or Wii, but they both have good games (if you're in to the kind of gameplay that the Wii delivers) and its completely opposite with the PS3 right now.
