- BojoPlow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+55Here is the skinny:
-Parents leave a house for an extended vacation
-Squatters move in (without permission), bringing with them an x-box
-Parents daughter goes to check on the house
-Daughter finds squatters and kicks them out, does not let them take x-box
-Daughter has friends over at parents house
-Squatters come back for revenge on daughter and to get x-box, killing 6 people and a dog (everyone that was in the house) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+46That is so ***** up. Those ***** should be executed. Worthless pieces of trash that don't belong on this planet.
- lnxaddct, on 10/12/2007, -4/+44chatwithaninja,
You're giving these ***** way too much credit. They went there with baseball bats, they went at night, and they went unwelcomed. They knew what they were getting themselves into. The majority of the girls killed, were killed in their damn beds. Don't try to make these murderers seem any better than they are. And it was all over an xbox, property left over in a property you've been kicked out is something you call the cops to get, not something you break into a house at night with a group of friends armed with baseball bats.
-Steve (http://krenzel.info) - chatwithaninja, on 10/12/2007, -13/+48Its not true. The media is hyping this up as a killing over an xbox, when the reality is that the people were going there to get the xbox, but it got ugly with the people who kicked them out. Fighting ensues, and people got killed.
Point is: They did not plan on killing the girls just to get their xbox. There was bad blood before the xbox. - R4wBon3, on 10/12/2007, -4/+36Not Dugg - for the fact I want my innocense back.
This kind of reality makes me wanna go to sleep for a long time and wake up when the world is a little less full of evil human trash.
On a side note, that poor little Xbox gets thrown in the middle of this ***** when it really has nothing to do with something that smells like a crack-head macho vendetta. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+31oh *****, i think jack thompson is gonna have a seizure
- gigabitten, on 10/12/2007, -3/+30@chatwithaninja: the article said the girls did not try to resist or escape the attack and that many of them were sleeping. how exactly can you get in an arguement while your sleeping?
- thras, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25RTFA. 6 people died, but most of them were males.
2 girls (if Erin is a woman), 4 guys. - MikeEnIke, on 10/12/2007, -3/+231 usually offensive, see usage paragraph below : a black person
2 usually offensive, see usage paragraph below : a member of any dark-skinned race
3 : a member of a socially disadvantaged class of persons
usage ***** in senses 1 and 2 can be found in the works of such writers of the past as Joseph Conrad, Mark Twain, and Charles Dickens, but it now ranks as perhaps the most offensive and inflammatory racial slur in English. Its use by and among blacks is not always intended or taken as offensive, but, except in sense 3, it is otherwise a word expressive of racial hatred and bigotry.
Hmm, I was almost expecting a definition backing up your statement. - LR2_, on 10/12/2007, -9/+286 deaths over an xbox. My prayers to their families.
- lalindsey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Are you ***** kidding me??? The ages of the people who killed these people were 29, 20 and 19. Youth?? I don't think so. Why don't you try reading the article before slandering Americans for no reason. And please, tell me how Judge Judy makes people stupid?? And really, explain to me how murder's (senseless ones at that) occur only under Bush's rule.
Moron. - zforrester, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19That is just insane, that anyone would kill as group of people over an XBox. That just boggles my mind.
- EnricoFermi, on 10/12/2007, -5/+21Wow I had no idea this really happened I thought it was just an episode on The Boondocks.
Sad. - garyinthehouse, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17I agree 100%
Gary - jesusphreak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14I assure you, American youth didn't need George Bush to become what it is today. It would've become that with or without him.
- eventualbuddha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14"The victims, who all worked at a local Burger King, also included Erin Belanger, 22, Francisco Ayo-Roman, 30, Anthony Vega, 34, Roberto Gonzalez, 28, and Jonathan Gleason, 17."
These were not 6 girls. It's amazing that people could do this sort of thing. - weaszel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12A pruscator... You mean like those guys who fight bulls and wear silly hats?
- motbob, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15You are turning this story about the murder of 6 girls
into a fanboyish slam on the PS2?
Scum - menwuur, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12horrible thing
- lalindsey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11It seems to imply that they were sleeping, and who knows where these asses hit the victims first - you get a baseball bat to the head, you ain't getting up.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14George Bush secretly supplied the aluminium baseball bats used in the mass murder. Bush's fault.
- Slashdev, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Your assumption is correct.
The article later goes to say: "The game system was taken by Belanger (Erin) when she cleared Victorino's things out of her grandparents' winter house." - captaindan, on 10/12/2007, -7/+17I keep trying to explain that to people who kick the ***** out of me for using that word, but they just don't seem to get it...
...oh wait...you're an idiot. - BradFive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10@seumas:
They were the victims. Not the attackers. - captaindan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Because we haven't proven that these people are, in fact, the monsters who committed this crime. And in this country, we don't execute people without proof. (In theory anyway... I can already hear the stampede of disagreement...)
- shortcircuit13, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Regardless of the plausibility of your statement (and its first reply), the very bluntness of it makes me sick.
- nibble128, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I in no means condone that guys comment, however i understand what he was trying to say... to nig something is to get it without effort... or something like that... he was trying to comment on freeloaders/people that expect to get what they have not earned.... but wtf didn't he just say that...
now as for the true nature of the over article... I recently had 4 friends die in a car crash and one more die from falling into a river... and even I, with these events within the year, semi recent... only have the faintest clue of what these girls poor parents are going through.
My condolences to the families...
and this comments page is no place for jokes in such a serious matter. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I mean they should try to lay off the xbox part for the fact that these guys murdered a couple of girls for a piece of hardware, a cold piece of machinery. I hope they rot in jail for the rest of their lives in a dark room where all they can do is think about what they have done. And i will pray for the souls of the dead. Yes i am religious.
- lupinglade, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Just when you thought you've seen and heard it all, humanity steeps to a new low. Incomprehendable... why do we even do a formal trial for these monsters? They should just be baseball batted to the moon.
- brandizzle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I'm up for Bush bashing just as much as the next person but at least get your facts straight.
There has always been murders. There's less now actually than there was a couple hundred years ago. Actually think back to Rome, I'd say it's improved.
I say this is more about revenge than it is an xbox. They already showed they didn't have many morals when they broke into the house. I say they're just stupid and they probably would have done it over a shirt. - zaid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Yes, a much more befitting punishment. Death is such an easy getaway in this case.
- zaid, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13I think its being called the Xbox Murders because then it can be posted on Digg. Other than that, wheres the technology tilt to this story?
- giggins, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9I did too! I don't think I ever heard anything about it on the news.
- mgreenwald, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I would have bought them an XBox just so they wouldn't have murdered those poor girls.
- chatwithaninja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Whoa whoa whoa...
I was NOT trying to make these murderers seem better. I was only pointing out that the xbox wasn't the sole reason that the people were killed, and that the media is trumping up the xbox as the most important thing in the whole case. And if I remember correctly, the girl who kicked them out wouldn't let them take any of their stuff, including the xbox, from her parents house. I am assuming here, but I'll bet it was because she didn't know exactly what was theirs and what was her parents stuff, so she couldn't just let them go through the house taking stuff. - angryredplanet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6chatwithaninja
Bad blood before the murders -> premeditation. Very cold-blooded. - jsleno, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6The problem here is not what to do with the murderers. They should be executed.
The problem here is who is going to pick up this story and run with it.
People have been killed before over senseless things. What is happening now is that these are being called "THE XBOX MURDERS!" The implication will be that if you buy your child an Xbox, someone will come and beat them to death.
We have become to jaded to be aroused by "just a murder." And punishing the criminals is never enough. So, we have to punish the killer's family, or the killer's beliefs, or even the killer's motivation as well. In this case, the Xbox.
This was a sad story. And unfortunately, I think it will get sadder once the wrong people latch on to this story. - MindReaver, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7From teh article:
The victims, who all worked at a local Burger King, also included Erin Belanger, 22, Francisco Ayo-Roman, 30, Anthony Vega, 34, Roberto Gonzalez, 28, and Jonathan Gleason, 17.
Not six girls, but gruesome nonetheless. Question though: How comes NOBODY puts up a fight? Beating all those people to death isn't going to be quiet. I don't know, I don't do that (beating people, cows, etc) for a living, but what gives? - mike_p, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10Talk about paying attention to irrelevant details... Girls gets murdered and you're wondering if it's an Xbox 360 or not?
- YossarianDent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@ dallen:
Not the kind of execution sean suggested. - Tiak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@seumas
Please note, those were the victims names, not the perpitrators... The perpitrators were the ones wise and civilized enough to get kicked out of a place inhabited by 34 year old burgerking workers... - Pureeviljester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The fact that it was 4 males and 2 females matter because? They were all killed and it was in the night when, supposedly, some were asleep. Quit stressing what gender the victims were. It's not like it'll change the fact of the matter.
- seanslater, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Yeah, but are they really worth wasting 60-80 years of taxpayer money on to keep in jail.
Death by baseball bat, sounds fair to me. - ChewyBass, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I live near Orlando and I've been following this for a while, and yes Jack Thompson has been all over talk radio since the beginning of this tragedy. Troy Victorino, 29, is complete scum. He's the leader and has been in lots of trouble before. 540wfla is the local talk channel and is following the story. The link below contains pictures of the 4 soon to be deceased creeps.
http://www.540wfla.com/pages/news_local.html?feed=123590&article=443172 - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7and, um...seumus...even if they DID work at Burger King...you do know that some people who "work at Burger King" mae FAR more money than you do, right? Not everyone at Burger King is flipping bugers and taking orders.
Oh yeah...but you got a high pay tech job at age 15 as a 9th grade drop out! Forgot! - gargantuan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5erm, sorry but I think the fact that it got dugg means it's of interest to people. Technology may be the core focus of digg but that doesn't mean theres no room for manouver. I personally welcome the odd story like this as it takes me out of my tech bubble and plonks me right back in the real world. Which depite the ugliness of this particular story, is still a good thing. +digg for the story, - digg for AssProphet, zaid and rspeed for being anal.
- JoeWall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4thanx for the article
"Hunter, 19, Troy Victorino, 29, and Michael Salas, 20, all face six counts of murder, five counts of mutilating a dead human body and three other felonies."
five counts of mutilating a dead human body !!! - jeffbailey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4sameerb, if you RTFA again you will see that he did not get selective treatment because of his color.
Salas, Victorino and Hunter are charged with six counts of murder and eight other felonies. Cannon already has pleaded guilty and will receive life in prison in exchange for his testimony. Prosecutors said they will seek the death penalty for the remaining defendants.
It is clear that he already plead guilty and is not getting the death penalty as a result. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The problem is that with the numerous mandatory appeals process (usually with the taxpayers paying for BOTH the prosecution AND the defense), it often costs MORE money for the death penalty than life in jail.
Don't get me wrong. I am all for these guys dying a slow painful death at the hands of the state. I just think the ridiculously number of appeals needs to be cut down.
And before anyone jumps on me about all the cases overturned with DNA after 20 years of being on death row, I am not saying appeals should be cut down for every case. But even on an open and shut case like this, the earliest we will see these guys dead will be 2015. - ninjakin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3the must of been playing gta ohh call the congressmen/woman we need a new law!
