- TehSwat, on 10/10/2007, -3/+47No gravity gun?
- scubasteve11, on 10/10/2007, -3/+44Wow, this list is horrible.
- olddirtycr, on 10/10/2007, -3/+27"It's just like Pokemon Snap, except it's actually fun."
....... Pokemon Snap = Best Game Ever - swanny89, on 10/10/2007, -3/+26FFS no CROWBAR!? Blasphemy...
- AwesomeMonster, on 10/10/2007, -2/+24Cerebial bore.
enough said. - Caps, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16Purple Dildo in GTA: San Andreas FTW!
- DFENS, on 10/10/2007, -3/+17Any list that fails to mention the following is UNDIGGABLE!
1.) Cerebral Bore (Awesome Monster above agrees). This MADE Turok 2 Multiplayer. That and the monkey.
2.) Microwave Gun (not to be mentioned without:)
3.) Shrink Ray. Both from Duke 3D. Making your enemy expand til he explodes, or shrink him down and squish him. Totally original and new and never used before.
4.) Most anything from Armed and Dangerous, Ratchet and Clank, etc.
5.) Most anything from SSBM.
6.) Cait Siths whatever-the-***** megaphone insanity. (FF7)
7.) Blah Blah Blah.
The yo-yo was used in a crapload of games, to boot. Not unconventional - used too often, in fact.
Sorry for the rant, just really sick of ***** lists. - LucasVB, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12Shrink ray from Duke Nukem 3D. Always missing, oddly.
- MechaZain, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11Since they seemed to intentionally avoid guns, I'll excuse the absence of Perfect Dark's Laptop Gun.
- bagboyrebel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8I actually did enjoy pokemon snap
- Kumaku, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7The Vacuum? The water pack from Mario Sunshine beats that thing to hell.
- LawKSS, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9You could use almost all the weapons in Smash Bros. on this list
- crackah, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Jumping on things?
- bagboyrebel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6of course it was the real SMB2, it was just the american one. Complaining about it doesn't make you cool, it just makes you an ass. And besides, that game rocked.
- Slybri, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7I'm getting tired of these supposed Top Ten lists. All they are is bait for page hits. A real top ten list is created by a group of experts, not some post-college kid in an office picking random stuff off the top of his head.
Also, No PC games = FAIL - PueSi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5The writer is an ***** and his list is lame, Pokemon Snap was indeed a fun game
- leetdood, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5RTFA. they had the shower head.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5PFFF in Red Alert 2....the chronosphere...instead of transporting your units across the map.... you transport their Carriers into the middle of their base and watch them explode.
- Urusai, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7They probably left it out of the console versions. It's so sad people equate consoles with games, like this retarded site.
- Gir53457, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I find myself trying to hate Pokemon but I can't. A lot of the are really fun games.
- Splitt3rxx, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6buried for talking ***** about pokemon snap.
- UglieJosh, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Wrong.
From Wiki:
"Weapon" legend
The yo-yo is sometimes cited as having originally been a weapon: according to one account the original yo-yo was "large with sharp edges and studs and attached to thick twenty-foot ropes for flinging at enemies or prey."[1] (this story is referenced in the film Octopussy, in which an Indian villain attempts to kill James Bond with such a weapon). No evidence exists to support this story, and some experts consider it physically unlikely since "once [the yo-yo] struck something, it would be nearly impossible to retract." - acdcfanbill, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I would add the Land Shark Gun and the Topsy Turvy Bomb from Armed and Dangerous.
- ICSU, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4crowbar is conventional
- yaknowit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4you showed him. you showed him good.
- MusicalGenius, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yes, it's a good weapon, but in a cheap setting where it does too much for you. It should have had limits and should have been used in a more strategic setting, where people would use it wisely rather than use it to do work for you cause your not good enough.
- NoOneButMe, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3any object the designers could model - aka Dead Rising?
- TheProtested, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3the raging boner...so thats where the term "RAPED" came from.
- zzz@tkz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Shower head was in there.
Fail. - chessimp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3At least read the list before you bitch. You fail hard.
- AwesomeMonster, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3A gun is conventional. You are a fool.
- Darrelc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The anthrax cows head from Postal 2.
Doesn't seem to be any PC games though. - Nohbudy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Fail
1. There are way too many good original weapons to fit in a top 10 list.
2. Article written to attract hits not state idea or give credit to the game designer. Most all of the games are pop culture hits, such as custers revenge mario and goonies. - CasinoJack, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3How about the Redeemer from UT? I'd say a gun that fires remote-controlled mini-nuclear warheads was pretty 'unconventional'.
- championchap, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2WHERE IS FLUDD!?!
- oofgeg, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2How about the Lancer from Gears of Wars?
Gun, Good
Chainsaw, Great
Both in one weapon, UN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE - jmoh, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Fail.
- Pinhedd, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Missing exploding bugs from Fallout/Half-Life, so much better than Turnips or raging boners.
- CornStarch, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2cerebral bore left out.
- soulpiercer7, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3you fail
- bossywalker, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2What about the weapons from WORMS? Concrete donkey, some kind of vase, bananna bomb?, homing sheep and I'm sure many more. The needler from Halo is kinda unconventional. Razor blade gun? from one of the UT games.
- Nohbudy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Great, you now make me want to pull out my pokemon when i should be heading off to bed.
[edit] ok, this sounds sicker than what i meant. - michaelinnotts, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Needs more crowbar.
- Gir53457, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2A gun thats made out of a cigarette box, a lighter and a pen is unconventional. You are a tool.
- Deekman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2No Gravity Gun form Half-Life 2
No Shark Launcher from Armed and Dangerous.
No Cerebral Bore from Turok
No Apples from Pokemon Snap
This list fails. - NiGHTSChao, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2List ***** fails for not having anything from Fallout
A squirt-gun filled with acid/napalm, anyone? - imikedaman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Rocket: Robot on Wheels did it first. (in 1999, 5 years before Half-Life 2)
You play as a robot named Rocket, who has what is essentially a gravity gun attached to his head. You use it to pick up and throw objects or enemies. - ThE0eNiGmA, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Forget the crowbar, the umbrella takes the cake.
- terminalpariah, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The excavator from Dead Rising. Unconventional AND disgusting!
- GamingTrend, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1No squeaky toy from Shogo? "MAGIC CLAW!"
Clearly this list was written by somebody who hasn't been in the industry long... -
