- Ziriux, on 08/17/2009, -2/+72I must say David Hayter, simply because he does the voice for Snake, you could teach him all the action.
- BattleChimp, on 08/18/2009, -7/+59Absolutely no to all but David Hayter, and only because he does it the voice work for Snake VG. If not him, then it should be an unknown. Metal Gear is such an incredible series. It ranks up with Half-Life in terms of how good of a movie it could make. I believe both films should be made with complete unknowns.
100% ***** NO to Hugh Jackman. He's wolverine for the rest of his life. - IvenomI, on 08/18/2009, -1/+32I agree 100%. Hayter has actually written a script for a screen adaptation for the MGS franchise, but he was turned down several time.
Hayter for Snake! - Mship, on 08/18/2009, -0/+24Yeah sure your girlfriend watches it.
- avataros, on 08/18/2009, -1/+24I thought the Spartan who made the speech in the last scene of 300 was dead on Solid Snake.
- Sixagon, on 08/18/2009, -0/+16I can't wait! After every 15 minutes of movie they'll insert 45 minutes of game-capture footage to move the story along.
- Awwzm, on 08/18/2009, -0/+14He's also good at responding to anything referencing Metal Gear with "Metal Gear?"
- nixpix66, on 08/18/2009, -2/+16SNNNAKKEEE?!?!
- unfilterthought, on 08/18/2009, -0/+13Viggo Mortensen. He looks like snake. He can act. He can bulk up.
- EllimistX, on 08/18/2009, -3/+16As much as I wish David Hayter could play Snake, I doubt a studio would go for it. That said, Josh Holloway certainly looks the part, and has the womanizing down on Lost. He'd just need to watch that Southern accent.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e8/Sawy ... - Bloodwine, on 08/18/2009, -0/+11Of those listed, Kurt Russell has the widest range of characters and is good at actually acting and not just being himself.
Everything from Captain Ron to Snake Plisskin, from Jack Burton to Todd (Soldier). - Ziriux, on 08/17/2009, -3/+13Xman and Metal Gear Solid are two different style and universes.
- OLTP, on 08/18/2009, -0/+9FTA:
I know people are going to wonder why Christian Bale missed out on the list, but there is a simple reason why he does. His Terminator flip out hurt his popularity among the general public. It’s unfortunate because he was really starting to get a roll on. The same thing happened to Russell Crowe, who was another candidate also.
Really? I don't picture either as Snake, but why disqualify them for their offscreen antics? I thought the Bale flip out was hilarious. *****, even Tom Cruise still gets roles. - NeoTechni, on 08/18/2009, -8/+17#1 David Hayter
#2 David Hayter
#3 David Hayter
#4 David Hayter
#5 David Hayter
Hmmm... Just as I thought. - veriix, on 08/18/2009, -0/+9Liquid Snake: BROTHER! Stop calling me freckles!
- zanvann, on 08/18/2009, -0/+9Totally got raiden sorted:
http://yfrog.com/epagynessdeyn2j - inactive, on 08/18/2009, -6/+14I just flushed something down the toilet that played a rather convincing "solid snake."
- DallasCowboys94, on 08/18/2009, -1/+9What about the guy from LOST... Josh Holloway is his name, the guy that plays Sawyer. I think he could pull off the Snake easily.
- jack2454, on 08/18/2009, -0/+8http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5224E3GYC3M&fea ...
- MurphyWatson, on 08/18/2009, -1/+9Eric Bana would be awesome if he bulked up. Watch Munich.
- teamr, on 08/18/2009, -0/+7before you all have a heart attack, solid snake was based off of snake plisskin, who was played by kurt russle. look it up
- VarelseSoul, on 08/18/2009, -0/+6Clint Eastwood?
- darkened, on 08/18/2009, -3/+9I'm on the opposite end, Hugh Jackman could definitely pull off Solid Snake.
- wade730, on 08/18/2009, -4/+10I actually think Hugh Jackman would make the best snake, but I havn't seen the Wolverine movies so I have no character attachment to him.
- zanvann, on 08/18/2009, -0/+5That guy would be perfect for old snake maybe, he's a bit too aged for the one we all known and love though.
- inactive, on 08/18/2009, -0/+4He could play Ocelot.
- smitas, on 08/18/2009, -2/+6Solid snake?
- rawketscience, on 08/18/2009, -0/+4Munich is so badass.
- darkened, on 08/18/2009, -0/+4He'd be great for Big Boss.
- SveedeshCheef, on 08/18/2009, -0/+4"4 men that have grown a beard and the guy that does the actual voice."
- SavageIndustrie, on 08/18/2009, -0/+4I'm going to agree with this guy, Hugh Jackman would be an awesome SS.
- Alabaster1234, on 08/18/2009, -0/+4They should just make the movie completely interactive and have a controller. That way to watch the movie you'd play the game, and to play the game you'd watch the movie.
- teamr, on 08/18/2009, -7/+10Theres already a solid snake.....kurt russle aka snake plisskin
http://www.cineastentreff.de/teleschau/200637/3/20 ... - Mister8, on 08/19/2009, -0/+3BROTHER!
- DivisibleByZero, on 08/18/2009, -0/+3Dub them over with David Hayter though. Pretend they were originally speaking Japanese or something.
- JSquad, on 08/18/2009, -0/+3This article sounds like it was written by a ten year old.
- ch4os1337, on 08/18/2009, -0/+3I almost died from laughing so hard. hahahaa.
- ValDeV, on 08/18/2009, -0/+3Dugg for having the worlds worst website layout
- shadowmanjack, on 08/18/2009, -0/+3Snake? SNAKE? SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- brotherfranciz, on 08/19/2009, -0/+3David Wenham:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0920992/ - tahcoboy, on 08/18/2009, -0/+3Eric Bana FTW! but I would of never thought of Hugh Jackman either so ill be happy with either of the two
- AcousticBoom, on 08/18/2009, -1/+4Gerard Butler wouldn't be a bad choice either
- Charlotte_Web, on 08/18/2009, -1/+4Gary Coleman. Indubitably.
- KyleMistry, on 08/18/2009, -0/+2I remember watching the Wolverine Origins workprint when it was leaked, and through all those war scenes, I kept thinking the dude looked a /lot/ like Naked Snake.
That said, great as the hand-to-hand combat in Taken was, I gotta side with either Hayter or Jackman.
Now, if only there was a confirmed word on an MGS movie. - cardcaptorstace, on 08/18/2009, -0/+2I think Hugh Jackman is probably the best choice on that list.
- ChiefUCF, on 08/18/2009, -0/+2I can't believe no one has said Michael Biehn just to toss it out there...Kyle Reese was used as the inspiration for the cover of the original Metal Gear.
I haven't seen him lately though. Maybe he hasn't aged well. - teamgwho, on 08/19/2009, -0/+2WhatchootalkingboutOcelot?
- pygmy, on 08/18/2009, -0/+2Mmm... bacon
- 2h3px, on 08/18/2009, -0/+2Christian Bale doesn't really work. His face is a lot different his cheek bones. And more importantly, you just know he'd bust out the Batman voice on the intercom. I mean he did that ***** in Terminator when he was on the radio, so when he actually has an excuse he'd for sure be like "I'M BATMAN!!!" "ROAAAA RASPY RASP"
