- gzim, on 10/12/2007, -2/+51Seriously? No mention of the Steel Battalion $250 console?
Man, I wanted (still do) that thing so bad... - Silencer7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2001/11/28
http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2002/03/25 - chesbomb, on 10/12/2007, -11/+30pictures would be nice.
- Sairgem, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Try Resident Evil 4, not Doom.
- altosaxon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Seriously... there isn't even a playable chainsaw in RE4, that controller was such a let down...
- triscuitbiscuit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I remember that they were sold out everywhere... I had saved up enough money to buy it and I kept on calling every store I knew that sold games and they were all sold out.
I definitely loved the part of the game where if you didn't eject your guy in time, the save file would be erased. Amazing. - Yurimanna, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13The list forgot the original American XBOX controller.
*****' huge. - hbeierg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9you and me both

Try clicking the little links that say "source"... - Step1Mark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8i think he is saying that doom is the only game that a chainsaw feels native

- hode, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"The 'RailDriver' is the perfect gaming controller for aspiring railway drivers or enthusiasts - featuring knobs, levers, switches, and buttons, specifically designed for use with Microsoft’s Train Simulator and Auran Trainz."
Sounds fascinating! The only game I can think of that would be cooler is Microflop's much anticipated "Truck Driver: Big Men, Big Rigs." But only if they get the texture on the pork rinds right. - Yurimanna, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6When obvious geniuses like you bring it to our meager, wasted, pathetic attention.
Thank you, kind soul. - thewump, on 10/12/2007, -7/+12Oh.. I didn't read the link correctly.. I thought the title was "10 strangest Controllers" and clicked expecting to see a picture of my wife.
- PhoebusApollo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Don't be dissin' the Duke, it was the best controller of all time. For man's men of manly men. It was like an extension of your body, people who couldn't play with it were just whiney girly-men.
- Murdats, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5it was large, but comfortable, i prefered the original over the S controller, however all the games except halo were designed for the S controller
- timbro1, on 10/12/2007, -11/+14no pictures... lame.
- SugeKnight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3 I think that everyone would be forgetting the Atari Jaguar controller....just incase I need to make a long distance call during my game!!
http://www.atariage.com/controller_page.html?ControllerID=21&SystemID=JAGUAR - altosaxon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Use your head buddy... read above... besides there are pictures of each one, just let the page load.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2SplitFish GlideFX how is this any stranger than the Wii-mote ?
- magnakai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I actually had one, with Steel Battalion and the online semi-sequel Line Of Command.
It was a fantastically immerse experience. At first you'd panic and hit the wrong button, but you gradually learned all the subtle mechanics of it and your hands flew about the system fluidly.
I ended up selling it, as I wasn't playing it much and I needed the money, but I adored it and wish I could have it back. - wonkavsn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I don't know about strangest, but the SEGA Master System controller was definitely the worst controllers I've ever used:
http://www.videogamecritic.net/images/systems/mastercontroller.jpg
The ASCII Grip one handed controller was pretty bad too:

11 months, on the nose - AjayF, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think the Ore Commander vibrating thumb attachment controller might go to good use in some peoples bedrooms. Still a market for that one.
- Splitt3rxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2where is the wiimote and the steel battalion controller?
- zetec, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just for the record, that "PS2-Dell Axim" controller, which is homebrew to begin with, isn't even a PS2 controller. It's a black PS1 controller. Notice the lack of Dual Shock analog sticks -- there was never a non-dualshock sony PS2 controller.
- VeganG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There's a Dreamcast controller for Densha De Go (train sim) that actually includes a cup holder.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is quite an old story, or so it seems, as they refer to the Wii as the "Revolution" and link to a story from April 4, 2006.
- Guagloves, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The Power Glove was so odd. as was the Virtual Boy.
I have seen nerf ps2 controllers a few times and the steel battalion box once. - DanielNielsen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It didnt have the steele batallion controller on there, that thing was huge.
- saska, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Agreed. I only clicked the link to see their comment on it, and it's missing!
My ex used to let our son (2 years old at the time) play with it. I never saw him actually use it to play the game. A shame, really. - slickhare, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have one of those DDR Finger Pads from back when my friends and I were obsessed with the series. Wasn't as responsive as I thought it'd be, hence, "finger-dancing" wasn't possible with it.
- animegod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dragonquest controller FTW!
Animegod would like to invite you to become a member of Konami RPG Stars! - stevejanes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I never got to use an Atari Jaguar controller, but I have to say that it looks like one of the most complicated controllers ever! Some people even modified the controller into a portable Atari Jaguar game system! Imagine carrying one of these things around:
http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/27/ben-heckendorns-fully-portable-atari-jaguar/ - wonkavsn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@Puke
Yeah I actually got it for FF7, but could never get used to it. - supaphly42, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2power glove? what about the power pad! those were the hotness!
- GenoBaby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What about the Cheese from Nintendo... that was one of the prototypes for the Wii. I'm still trying to imagine how that was suppose to work. http://forums.nintendo.com/nintendo/board/message?board.id=revolution&message.id=2771009
- puke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I had that one-handed controller. It was marketed as being for RPGs, which it worked well for. Everything else was horrible.
- VeganG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've heard that after the novelty wears off, it's not that great of a game.
- eclectro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Better pictures of the crimson controller
http://workshop.txt-nifty.com/pcengine/2006/02/warning_a_huge_.html - Jerk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No mention of the SpaceOrb 360? I remember this controller from 1997.
http://www.3dgamers.com/articles/more/37/ - Blah_Blah_Blah, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3funny.
- DryerCombo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No mention of the PS2 Dragon Quest controller, Onimusha 3 Sword controller or the FFX2 Tiny Bee guns?
Somebody is snubbing the hell out of Hori. - dRuNk3nIrIsHmEn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1We always called it the goliath or the steering wheel.
- RufiRules, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The Master System controller has the best D-pad I've ever used; it's so easy to hit the diagonals.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The Nokia n-Gage was just awful.
Very difficult to play anything on it. - brainxs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Wow! This is too common nowadays.
- sctechguy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Update: The article now has photos, with exception to number 10.
Also, FTA: "The SplitFish GlideFX (PS2) could be one of the earliest Nintendo Revolution controller clones"
When was this written? It hasn't been called the Nintendo Revolution in.....quite some time. - sheslikeheroine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0*****
