- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -12/+123The Microsoft XBOX 360 has a large library of titles, nice graphics and a proven online system (XBOX Live).
The Nintendo Wii has unique controls, a small (yet slowly growing) library of games (with however one huge title...Zelda), Virtual Console and flagship titles (Mario, Super Smash Bros., Metroid, etc).
The Sony PlayStation 3 has great graphics, a controller that will hopefully soon be fixed/patched somehow, and a small library of games (slowly growing) that should look much better a year or two from now.
Can we all stop bitching? - geekfrom99, on 10/12/2007, -7/+82#1 the freakin price??!
- Avalontor, on 10/12/2007, -5/+67Did any of you notice the 10 Ten Wii complaints link at the bottom?
- ForlornHope, on 10/12/2007, -12/+75It's expensive, the controller randomly jerks, you lose your system if you try to download anything, no rumble, old memory cards cost extra, actual HD costs extra, HD doesn't work properly, PS1 emulation doesn't work properly without a PSP, can't play your own music, wifi doesn't work, online play is *****, and streaming video doesn't work.
Oh, and you can get almost all of the games on another platform.
Other than that, the PS3 will attack the other consoles in their weak spot. For massive damage. - shosterman, on 10/12/2007, -9/+68Getting robbed/shot while standing in line was probably a big complaint.
- truspector, on 10/12/2007, -50/+105The next generation started last November. I'm still waiting for Sony to try and join Microsoft and Nintendo there.

http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3155556 - hipstershaun, on 10/12/2007, -6/+34I think a big part of Sony's problem is their attitude towards the industry and the consumers. When their smug cloud meets with San Francisco's and then the apple crowds joins it, Katrina will have nothing on that storm.
- Avalontor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22At the bottom of TFA is the link to the Top 10 Wii complaints.
Thanks for playing Shikamaruleet - rubicante, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23Sony fails miserably on the most important point: Will your average family buy this console for their child for Christmas?
- RandomGuySteve, on 10/12/2007, -3/+24#1 complaint: Didn't sell for as much as they hoped on Ebay.
- totorototoro, on 10/12/2007, -5/+23If you are gonna do a wireless controller standard, for gods sake get it right. (Although I'm sure that whole Sixaxis stuff was a relatively late addition, so didn't get the testing required)
And no multitasking? Even the Amiga had multitasking. Why not allow you to play offline games while downloading stuff? - BoomShake007, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19but when HD is a major selling point, they should actually give you the cables to experience the HD.
- TheThing, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16By 1 month you mean June right?
- commongiga, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18It's one thing to actually want to buy a ps3. I almost understand why people want one. But to buy one out of spite for all the bad things you've been hearing about it.
You sir, are a silly boy. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+23"Yup. I was actually hoping that it would continue and hoping that I would find a "Top 10 XBOX 360 Complaints" list at the bottom of that to get all 3 systems."
Because clearly the 360 is superior in all ways.
(I swear... I'm going to be dugg down so far because people don't realize sarcasim) - beatbox360, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16PS3 stories get front page because the PS3 is big news. That news being, that so far, the PS3 really sucks! I wish there were some great Resistance stories or something like that, but pretty much, the only thing news worthy about the PS3, is that it's pretty lame. Deal with it. Hey, look at the bright side, at least there are plenty of PS3 stories, I hardly ever see any Atari Jaguar stories on these boards.
- shelle, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15In the spirit of Fox News, here are 1Up's Top Ten Wii complaints:
http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3155556 - shelle, on 10/12/2007, -6/+17$600 just to spite anonymous Internet strangers? Can you be my sugar daddy?
- state08, on 10/12/2007, -7/+17I remember when I was a Playstation fanboy. I used to think that there is no way they could they could lose.
Now I am more of an unbiased gamer. I appreciate all the systems, and even PS3 to a degree, but right now, it's currently on my "suck" list. The first time I played PS3 was at a demo unit at Best Buy, and it froze and restarted. Not a good first impression. - pronouncable, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13"Why would you copy saves back?" To play them back on the PS2/PS1, maybe.
- Muyoso, on 10/12/2007, -9/+18@edzieba
Um, the hard drive went on sale for $20 dollars at Sears a few months ago.
Hard drive IS used by games, as a cache, and speeds up loading times.
Xbox Live Gold, you can get a year for 40 dollars with a cam included. You can also buy the 19.99 Xbox Live for the original xbox, and it will work.
You can play divx videos now from your PC now, read tech sites.
The non presence of wifi shouldnt be a big deal for anyone playing online or streaming video, because wifi sucks ass for those things. But again, they do offer the option for people who want it.
In conclusion, all of your points have no real basis in reality. The 360 offers you the choice to customize your system with only the features you need. They offer everything you need to get playing right in the package, but they allow you to buy what you want to make your system perfect. How can you fault them for this? On the otherhand, the PS3 offers you no choice, makes you buy things to make your system complete, and gives free online play which is terrible. Poll people who bought the PS3, and ask them if for 40 a year if they would like an online system like Xbox Live.
See? All the 'next gen' systems do not have equal flaws. - KiriA500, on 10/12/2007, -1/+111. Then don't pay for it. If someone wants to pay $10 for Dig Dug, let them. You don't have to. Problem: Solved!
2. Microsoft did that just to piss YOU off. Maybe it's a marketing strategy? Let's see. Game costs 600 points, you buy 1000. Hm...now I have 400 left over, but this new game is 600 as well! Buy more points! YOWZA MONEYS FOR MICROSOFTS! Look back at number 1, you don't have to buy it. Problem: Solved!
3. Microsoft Xbox 360 consoles are the only computer system to ever freeze. Computers never freeze, PlayStation 2 systems never freeze, Nintendo Wii systems never freeze...hell, even cartridge systems like the Super Nintendo freeze. It's all part of computer hardware. Problem: Solved!
4. This feature alone makes the Xbox 360 suck. Why can't I surf Google on my VIDEO GAME SYSTEM? All I want to do is check stuff online instead of playing my $60 game. You make a very good point here... Oh wait... Problem: Retarded!
5. You've been able to stream from your PC since launch, if you had a Windows Media Center Edition PC. They added it recently because it appeared to be a feature people wanted... Problem: Solved!
6. Well, I can't argue here. My Xbox 360 takes 4 BILLION DAYS to rip a 10 track CD. That or 3 minutes. Problem: Impatient!
7. When did Microsoft state you had to juggle the power brick while playing? Was that in the instructions right next to "move the system while it's on so it rapes your CD?" I must have missed that part. Also, go to a ***** gym. The Xbox 360 and power brick isn't that much heavier than a PlayStation 3...or anything for that matter. You must have one of those special ones that's made of pure gold. Problem: Whine!
8. Well, from a biased fanboy's perspective, that'd be right. Condemned: Criminal Origins was very fun, and a launch title! It also had Oblivion, Ghost Recon, Project Gotham, Perfect Dark Zero (some people liked it...meh), and Kameo. Those don't count, right? Nobody could have fun playing those... At least the PlayStation 3 has Resistance...because it'd have trouble sell a historical documentary...Genji 2. Problem: Biased!
9. Sony won't do this at all. OH WAIT! GRAN TURISMO! It's called "options." If you don't want shiny armor for your horse, you don't need to buy it...but being a supporter of Sony, you have to buy everything for the Xbox 360 in order for it to compete, right? Problem: THE SAME ***** THING!
10. Buy the $35 memory card and transfer your Xbox Live Gamertag. It worked on the Xbox, and I'm pretty sure it works on the Xbox 360, since it uses the same online service. It'd make more sense to do that, since the achievement system is a huge deal to Microsoft. Problem: No reason to cry really.
None of these are issues that need to be fixed to my knowledge. Just be less biased and enjoy the system for what it is, a video game system. It's the same as the Wii, and PlayStation 3...a video game console. They all play video games, and entertainment people. - Thors1982, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14@topbravo
true every PS3 comes with a Hard drive, but a PS3 does not come with everything
However, you still have to buy HD cables and a headest
HD gaming system with standard def cables???? WTF!!! - eSecuris, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10mmm correction they only had 9 they even admit they couldnt come up with a 10th
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Autofrontpage alert!
- soulscreme, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Object stories about the PS3 are fine. Point out flaws all you want. Rampant fanboyism sucks.
- pronouncable, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11Just because you tolerate it doesn't make it a common consensus, bud.
- Giggy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7"#3 The same controller for 10 years"
It's better than having to use the Batarang concept they pulled out of their ass. - beatbox360, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8In reality
PS3=499.99
360=299.99
Wii=249.99
Soulscreme, I thought "Rampant fanboyism sucks". - tagliare, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6"some of us like to listen to Enya while headshotting our friends."
Digg for that line alone.
Note to self: don't read digg while in class. - beatbox360, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9That's funny, the one reason I don't want a PS3 is because of PS3 games, at least so far.
- anamanaman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9These articles are great (the PS3 and Wii). Always fun to read random bitching about consoles.
Wheres the Xbox360 one? Theres more than enough to complain about there too, isnt there? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+12@ ebzieba
That was probably one of the worst 360 rants I've ever seen. I'm not even a Sony fanboy and I can come up with a better list than that.
How can you call Live expensive when you're paying $600 ***** dollars for a PS3, and you're actually getting a decent online service?
We aren't getting a HD-DVD player shoved down our throats, so you can't even start on that one.
The 360 supports more original Xbox games than I could ask for.
I could go on and on, but your attack pretty much failed :( - Muyoso, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Sony didnt care if their console was done or not. They know that they have at least 10 million people that will buy their console no matter what it does. They are already losing money on each console sold, not even including the massive R&D, so pretty much, they are all about selling as much as they can and fixing it as things come up. The console, if it was to be released as anything other than a joke, should have been delayed another 6-8 months, so that they could get the simple things correct. I mean seriously, the controller, wtf.

I'm sorry but if you bought a Playstation 3 for atleast $600, then you better have an HDTV. - soulscreme, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@kiria
yeah, and i listed responses to most of the issues with the ps3. just because you don't have to do something doesn't make it annoying. I don't have to move my systems to a lan party, but i do. i don't have to make online purchases, but i liked that feature, just not the points. i wasn't aware that condemned launched, however, oblivion did not launch with the system. that point is just plain false.
@dahkness
well, i appreciate your input, but you can basically lick my sack. - killerofkiller, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4u have to buy a Usb-> Ethernet adaptor, but it is wifi enabled, but i dont think it supports wpa2 atm.
- ucbmckee, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7I refuse to buy a 360 simply because of their marketplace. It's insulting and a travesty to have to 'buy' game content that you could normally just unlock through game play. It's a horrible, horrible idea and sets a frightening precedent that might kill almost the entire fun of gaming. It's one thing to spend another $15 on a major expansion, another to buy %!@# horse armor, new weapons, or new cars. It's just a vehicle to make publishers rich with no real benefit to the gamers.
- ShivaOritiner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You'd think that 600 bucks would get you more than a reno hooker of a system. I was at least hoping for a vegas hooker, but no... just a reno hooker.
- Thors1982, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5OMG soulscreme you are such a idiot
the pure fact that you posted $720 for xbox 360... period
first of all WHY WOULD YOU BUY A CORE SYSTEM THEN A HARD DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
idiot.....
and their is no point in a plug in play kit... its not like sony... we can use rechargeable batteries, and everyone doesn't want/need wireless, most people i know don't have the wireless adapter... i only know 1 that has it and last who the hell wants a blue-ray player or HD-dvd player. I am HUGE into home theater... but they are both going to flop... consumers are not ready. so... its $400+$200(if you want HD-dvd) system.
Just to point out how big of a tool you are... you forgot to mention PS3 owners have to buy a HD cable and a headset (both included with xbox).
Also before you blow up on me... I will even help you out you could add in $50 a year for xbox live.... granted its a MUCH better service. It still costs money.
I don't care which side you are on... but use some intelligence when arguing - RogueJediX, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5My own complaint would be no wired controllers, which I prefer over wireless and no more force feedback, thanks to that Immersion lawsuit.
- ShivaOritiner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Well I'm sold. Someone link me to one on ebay!
- beatbox360, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Ok, well then my next question will be for ucbmckee. What system are you planning to play? The Wii and PS3 both have stores, and like it or not, downloadable content isn't going away.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@thors1982:
I know, I know. A $10 hdmi cable from Monoprice.com will kill anyone who's prepared to pay $600+ for a gaming system.
Anyway I don't know how many of you are aware of this, but the PS2's component breakout cable works just fine on the PS3. I play at 1080i or 720p on my PS3 using the PS2 component adaptor. - KiriA500, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"It's better than having to use the Batarang concept they pulled out of their ass."
Some people, like myself, don't have the hands of a petite Japanese woman. The old controller looked a hell of a lot more comfortable than the current one. - Doghound, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9@Avalontor
Yup. I was actually hoping that it would continue and hoping that I would find a "Top 10 XBOX 360 Complaints" list at the bottom of that to get all 3 systems.
But, alas, no link. - Sibertank, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6At the bottom of the page...
