- RedGiant, on 10/12/2007, -4/+40Since the Wii became the most awesome thing on this planet.
- Makubex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24Since when does the Digg TOS include the rule that all members are required to read each and every topic, even ones that are of no interest to them?
- cubed2d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24super paper Mario will rule so much! i love mixing 3d and 2d game play, very pleasing to my eyes. no need for silly amounts of processing power when you have good art direction
- twtmc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20SSBB will be the best game of the year, I'm sure.
- NinJar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14theres wi fi for super smash bros brawl O___O thats likes 30000000 hours of fun right there
- AlphAssassin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Honestly, had I known how fun Wii Sports was going to be, I wouldn't of even bothered buying a game.
- TheMatt92, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I really am ridiculously excited for Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
- twtmc, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15I believe it was around the time that it became the greatest console since the N64.
- BenSerwa, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10If I could digg the words "no need for silly amounts of processing power when you have good art direction" a million times, I would.
- Sixcolors, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I love how you're going to get dugg down again for coming back just to point that out. You even started a new comment just for funsies. I've not been a fanboy since the days when it was only Sega and Nintendo, and I'm digging you down.
Just because your favorite subjects aren't making the front page doesn't mean the site is going to the "fanboys". I see Digg as a geeky pop culture site at best. And I'm sure that many people like me have things to do, so they subscribe to the RSS feed and check out the front page articles that interest them when they have a moment.
The Wii is very popular right now. I've heard no complaints from anyone I know who owns one. Sony is not popular right now because, 1) their starting lineup stinks, 2) they lied to their customers and to their developers about the number of units shipped, and 3) the PS3 is $600. I consider myself more than a casual gamer, but I'm not shelling out $600 for a console until I'm out of college and back in the black. The Xbox 360 is more reasonable and it's proving its worth once again, but it's last year's big news. - Derelict267, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Srsly? Now that game really might be worth getting a LOT more than i anticpated if it has online multiplayer...When did they announce this?
- Taedirk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7"8. Spider-Man 3 - A Movie game? Yes, in fact Spider-Man 2 was perhaps the greatest movie game ever made. The Wii version is considered more of an exclusive versions. Perhaps we’ll be swinging through the streets of New York with our Wii-motes!"
Goldeneye, anyone? - AlphAssassin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7yeah, I'm really interested to see how the controller is going to work with Metroid. hopefully they don't screw it up!
- Derelict267, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I wish I didn't have to wait so long for Mario Galaxies
March-Dec 07 they say? :'( - dime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5No More Heroes looks an awful lot like Killer 7 (yes, I know they're made by the same dude...)
Part Quinten Tarantino, part art project, part acid trip....
Part fun? The jury's still out. - Bara, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"Yes, in fact Spider-Man 2 was perhaps the greatest movie game ever made."
I believe that award goes to Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. The only fun thing about Spiderman 2 was the ability to swing around the city, everything else was mediocre at best. - grumbel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I have very little doubt about Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Nintendo knows how important that one is and I doubt they will ruin it. Beside from that I however totally agree, that list is rather rubbish. Disaster could easily turn into the next RedSteel, lots of hype but total failure to deliver and the rest is just sequel after sequel. Where are the cool new innovative games?
- grachi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Must get out of those: Super Smash Bros, Metroid Prime, Madden, and Spider Man.
The RPG could be cool too.
Man, Metroid would be awesome with the controller... imagining that now... - roomie76, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I am definitely getting Galaxy but when is Kart coming out. No word yet on the wii forums. I hope it is in 2007.
- Haon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I can imagine just about anyone who played the previous ones is. I still go to my friends house to play the 64 version (his bro jacked the GC and is in another country so thats all we got :(....)
- jacobmp92, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Since before the game was even announced itself.
- Drull, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Site has been dugg to death.
1. Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Two Words: Wi-Fi Connection.
2. Super Mario Galaxy - The legendary series is ready to make a comeback. Galaxy promises to be what Mario 64 once was.
3. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - The last game in the Prime trilogy is sure to be a hit. The original Metroid Prime for the Gamecube is currently the No. 3 top rated game of all time according to Gamerankings.
4. No More Heroes - If enough hype is generated for this game, it could be a smash hit. With free-roaming “GTA” style and RPG elements, the game looks promising.
5. Super Paper Mario - Mix the RPG series with a bit of old-school nostalgia and you are looking at a solid title.
6. Madden NFL 08 - Madden NFL 07 was a fantastic game for the Wii. Sure it’s “another” Madden, but this time around it’ll be a Wi-Fi compatible game and it’s expected to have improved visuals and controls.
7. Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn - The RPG from Nintendo is a sequel to Path of Radiance and should offer a more simpler control mechanism and great graphics.
8. Spider-Man 3 - A Movie game? Yes, in fact Spider-Man 2 was perhaps the greatest movie game ever made. The Wii version is considered more of an exclusive versions. Perhaps we’ll be swinging through the streets of New York with our Wii-motes!
9. Disaster: Day of Crisis - We may barely know much about it, but it looks to be a third-person title in the likes of Resident Evil with mind-blowing physics.
10. Sonic and the Secret Rings - We know that Sonic games have gone down the drain over the years with the exception of Sonic Rush, but the Wii version was a hit back at E3 and it could be the game Sega needs to keep the franchise alive! - imnojezus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3At this point, I'd just be happy to get a Wii in 2007. :|
- BenSerwa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's made by the same guy who did the last two awesome Smash Bros. games, and the development team consists of people who have a huge passion for the series. It'd be nearly impossible for the game to end up sucking.
- muikano, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3the director created Kirby. Kirby!
- jacobmp92, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3"Come on, this list is not a whole lot better than some fanboy rant on a forum."
Looks like a blog to me. - Sixcolors, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3In all that I forgot to mention one thing; I'm not digging this article. First of all, it's merely speculation in the sense that it's a guy with some article listing what he thinks will be the ten best games next year. The article lacks any kind of depth and has nothing to show off. No screen shots, no reference material, or links.
- BenSerwa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Anyone who uses the word "fanboy" (in any other way than to make fun of the word itself) sucks and is made of crap.
- hope, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I was sure I would see Spore on that list! I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to that game. Isn't anyone else anticipating the release for Spore?
- AlphAssassin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Well, if they are anything like Blizzard....
delays = good - opnickc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Spore looks awesome, but I highly doubt we'll see it on the Wii in 07. EA said they're not even going to start working on console versions until the PC version is out, and I believe that's slated for Q4 '07 (not positive, but it seems more than likely).
So Spore will probably hit Wii eventually, and it will be awesome, but I wouldn't count on it being there next year. - o0joshua0o, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Where are the cool new innovative games?"
Give it time. The DS had barely more than glorified tech demos and ports at launch, and look at it now. The Xbox 360 has been out for about a year, and it just recently started getting AAA games. I think we're very lucky to have a full-blown Zelda release at launch. - kirashira, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I want my STAR WARS.
- finbec, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.duggmirror.com
- mecole21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Tetris Wii!
- o0joshua0o, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Everyone digg jaydogg3199 down to exactly -18.
- TheGrinReaper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Where the heck is Wario Ware: Smooth Movies?
- Kokichi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Basically the first 5 games are the only ones worthwhile (well, 6 if you put FE over Madden, which I personally would).
Though really, we all know that the only one that matters is Brawl :) - amrush4th, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1A lot of cool games, however please kill me if you see me playing 'Cooking Mama: Cool Off'
- DyobolikaL, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Top 3
1.SSBB
2.SM Galaxy
3.MP3 - mcr2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0brawl will be the best
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Um hello?????? MARIO PARTY....
- MiiTalk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If you want to save some money on the games: http://miitalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=60
- McGoohan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Coming soon to an Xbox 360 near you.
- GaiaUnlimited, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I despise how they delayed Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but the longer the better.
- Derelict267, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Well you can't negate SSBB everyone knows only to except greatness from a super smash brothers game.
- mcr2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0bango kazooie was a sick game
and
bango tooie
i still have those games, they are sick, and one of the best of their time! - mcr2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0they should make a dodgeball game for the wii
haha
lmao
lol - doubleyoube, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I'm sorry, where I come from, something sick is something that has an illness. It is generally regarded as being a bad thing. However I get the impression that you have somehow used "sick" in a positive sence.
Dugg you down for being a ***** hippy. - Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -9/+7Come on, this list is not a whole lot better than some fanboy rant on a forum. Aside from some really bad typos, it's almost entirely devoid of research and it's terribly biased
The article mentions 4 games that nobody has seen any gameplay footage of; No More Heroes (the trailer had terrible dialogue), Spider-Man 3, Disaster: Day of Crisis, and Super Smash Brothers Brawl How do they know the games will be good when they have not even seen how they play, yet alone have had time to review them?
Also, nearly all the games on the list go on the principal of "The previous game in the series was great, the next one has to be better".
The Wii has a lot of great games coming out for it, but this list is just 100% fanboy -
