- cortez_a, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"How about buying a $4.99 fleece at Wal-Mart and cutting two holes in it?"
I was thinking the same thing but I would buy two blankets, cut holes in one and make arms in the other on.

- scottauth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I want to know what's going on in this picture:

Is Dave Matthews getting a hummer? - griz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Apparently the reason for the delay at Freedomblanket.com is that it is run by one person who is handmaking the blankets. At least that is what I was told in a recent e-mail. I am still not pleased, but will hope to see product delivered soon.
- EvilBadger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My laptop overheating warms my whole body, but a good idea.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1haha i can see that too.
- thefurryone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Regular blanket + wireless controller = better than explaining to visitors what a 'slanket' is.
- benadamson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Haha, that picture is hillarious

- jumjum, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0But with your hands exposed they get cold. They need to put Isotoners for sale in their shop.
- j0keR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice, I'm going to order one and wear it out in public.
- Mr.X, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That is an awsome idea, but my wireless controller under the blanket works too. :P
- atomysk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Damnit technopops, I was going to call skabber out on his time travelling. Maybe he'll post the site where he purchased his flux capacitator. I'd digg the hell out of that.
- snowsk8er77, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1so....how is this any diff. from a big ass sweatshirt??
- RyeBrye, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://www.thefreedomblanket.com/ says that they are 'Patent Pending." (How you can patent a piece of cloth with holes in it for arms is beyond me... maybe they should get some angel funding from NTP so they can get the patent process moving along faster.)
the biggest problem I see is that I usually wrap my legs in the blanket like a cucoon - and then have another blanket over my shoulders where my hands can come out of the blanket freely. I have fluffy down blankets that I use - and combined they didn't cost $65.
Screw the Slanket - use two blankets.
Oh, and to the dumbasses that say that $65 is good for a fleece blanket - please come to my eBay store where I will sell you normal consumer goods for two-or-three times the price they should be. A fleece blanket of moderate size should be no more than $10. - burke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0^^^ Oh nvm, I was looking at the "slanket" logo

Uhh... are you sure that isn't Alba Super? - Brak710101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Maybe you could just put on a hoodie. Its arodynamic too for quick runs the the fridge.
But, cool blanket none the less. - Thezeppelin62, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It doesnt look that great
- Pogue_Mahone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Its a blanket. Seriously.
You want a little soother with that? Maybe a squeaker toy? - mcbean, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is that a real poncho or a sears poncho ?
Hmmm no foolin - finn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0umm,, two things..well, 3 things first hit my mind when i saw this (particularly for photo of the guy with the laptop):
1) static charge.. i have enough problems with static as it is, dont need a big'ol blanket to help..
2) that laptop getting enough ventilation? i know for instance my laptop needs a flat surface at the very least to get proper air flow
3) and as mentioned by others, NOT for $65 tyvm - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They read my mind...
- Malabooboo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have better things to buy with $65...
- RyeBrye, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"01.20.2006 - The Slanket Lauched
After alot of hard work it is finally here. The Slanket is now for sale, so go buy tons of them."
Well I'll be damned. This is CLEARLY SPAM. Report report report... report report report... That tricky bastard fooled us all! - shotgun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'm only going to say this 'cause I'm drunk but here goes..
first of all, when you hit submit a story the first rule is: "Quality Technology Content: Is your story technology related?" nope
second of all, I hit "Problem?; SPAM" when this story first appeared hours ago. Seriously, this guy is just looking to sell overly expensive blankets. I've got a huge teal blanket that is probably twice as soft and warm for $12.99, these prices are just insane. - ezkiel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0DIY: Slanket
1. Buy Enough fleece for the size of the blanket you want + 2 more pieces the length of your arm and as wide around as to how loose you want the sleeves.
2. Cut two wholes in Sheet part for the arms should go
3. Sew the 'arms' widthwise to make a sort of tube.
3. Sew end of tube over hole
4. Repeat for other arm.
5. You do not talk about fight club. - 5blocksfree, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@thoreau nice link....nice price.
