So it's just some ***** speculation. The only thing of value were the first five paragraphs. - YouRookies, on 01/07/2009, -7/+37Roid up Solid Snake
Add Health Regen to make the game easy
Remove awesome Martial Arts scenes with mindless shooting - ShannonGB, on 01/07/2009, -8/+37Digg anything with Metal Gear!
- 6shot, on 01/08/2009, -5/+33You're a fool if you really believe MGS4 is going to 360.
- edjenkins234, on 01/08/2009, -0/+27what was that noise?
- DubBucket, on 01/08/2009, -2/+28SD graphics, simplistic plot, and EA-style factory sequel churn.. sounds like the recipe for a steaming pile of crap.

- jlimon, on 01/08/2009, -0/+25?
- mrhedges, on 01/08/2009, -1/+24How about a new IP, or Zone of Enders?
- EvilLordBanana, on 01/08/2009, -0/+22huh...just a box...
- AmyVernon, on 01/07/2009, -1/+22I've heard that about you.
- TrancePhreak, on 01/08/2009, -3/+24MGS4 is like one giant in-joke.
- Gloony, on 01/08/2009, -2/+21The Wii is like communism for consoles - it brings everything else down to its level.
- LukeSweet08, on 01/07/2009, -11/+30So they're basically removing all the things that make Metal Gear Solid appealing....
- Spartan61, on 01/08/2009, -0/+18don't change too much or the game just wont be the same. MGS needs long cut-scenes and ridiculous plots. its why we love it.
- Shaggy3, on 01/08/2009, -3/+20Buried for not being a wild west-cowboy hat wearing-horse riding-revolver shooting-Solid Snake.
- sillykalcifer, on 01/08/2009, -3/+20uhhh since when did Metal Gear Solid go multiplatform?
- inactive, on 01/08/2009, -1/+18I don't like how this is looking. I'm afraid if some of these things happen gamers are going to be saying one thing, and one thing only to the series:
"Snake? SNAKE? SNAAAAAAAAAAKE!!!" - muka3d, on 01/08/2009, -2/+17Metal Gear Solid doesn't need to be changed... It's perfect as it is, and the people capable of understanding it and appreciating it are the ones that play it... It wouldn't be a Metal Gear game if it was dumbed down so that people who otherwise can't appreciate it are expected to...
- EllimistX, on 01/08/2009, -0/+14"What was that?"
- sleeknerve, on 01/08/2009, -0/+14play the MGS2 and 3. They still hold up remarkably well and probably some of the best games on the ps2.
- Sherman901, on 01/08/2009, -0/+13Zone of Enders was ***** sweet.
- Shirleycakes, on 01/08/2009, -0/+13Dude, Snake's Mustache in MGS4. It already HAS been Westernized.
- inactive, on 01/08/2009, -1/+13Snakes of War 5?
Metal Gears of War 5?
God I really, really hope not. - kingmanic, on 01/08/2009, -0/+12I'm inclined to believe he means technical methodology rather than plot. I can't imagine Kojima doing anything but ***** insane plots. That would sort of kill me a little inside.
- Ellipsys, on 01/08/2009, -0/+12If I was a less eloquent gentleman I may convey my reaction as such: "RAGE....FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF". Simply put, besides this being a ***** list of speculation, I will be disappointed beyond words to see the Metal Gear Series become westernized. At this moment, it provides a rather unique perspective - a Japanese take on war acted out through characters designed to (mostly) be Americans. I like the extended cutscenes and the intense plot. I like the tenuous balance of morality, allusions to the nature of war being controlled by invisible forces for profit, and the development of the characters. Hell, I even like the characters like Psycho Mantis, Vamp, the hand of Liquid being bound to Ocelot's body merging their personalities, and the bent-reality that included characters with super human or supernatural abilities
I don't want to see Metal Gear turn into another forgettable adolescent testosterone-fueled shooter like the Gears of War series, or America-*****-Yeah Tom Clancy stealth action game. Coming from a purely Japanese perspective and being developed by a brilliant developer who could be considered "independent" in his creative process is what makes MGS special. Lets not take that away so a few more Philistines and mouthbreathers can "get their frag on". - otakugeek, on 01/08/2009, -0/+11‽
- Ytse, on 01/08/2009, -1/+12It's not.
- ZeeZee2k, on 01/08/2009, -0/+10zzz
- Blandyman, on 01/08/2009, -0/+10I must be seeing things...
- Shirleycakes, on 01/08/2009, -0/+10...isn't that really what the PATRIOTS were?
- inactive, on 01/08/2009, -3/+13will Kojima go into the New World Order? so much conspiracy stuff in MGS.
- weezerrock86, on 01/08/2009, -1/+11I think if anything "westernized" it, it would be making it a FPS.
- oblique63, on 01/08/2009, -1/+11technically you can enjoy it on its own, as it is a really good game, but I REALLY don't recommend doing so... I mean, in reality, you would just be depriving yourself of an awesome series, and it is with the weight of the previous MGS titles that for me, makes MGS4 by far the best game of all time (thus far)... now, this is just my opinion of course, but it should be fairly obvious that without all the back-story and character development that happened in MGS1-3, MGS4 would probably lose like 40% of it's epic-ness, especially since the plot of 4 relies _heavily_ on the happenings of the previous games (unlike most other franchises)...
so, yes, if you want, you could just go play MGS4 directly, and have your mind blown; or you could go buy this:
http://www.amazon.com/Metal-Gear-Solid-Collection- ...
and play it after, and have a crazy Mind-bending/heart-wrenching/pants-jizzing experience of a lifetime... - kingp, on 01/08/2009, -0/+10"There he is!"
- jordanlgta, on 01/08/2009, -1/+10Just FYI, Kojima said that Metal Gear Solid 4 would be the final game in the series...
- LtAction, on 01/08/2009, -0/+9*playboy mag*
- Mullinsmcd, on 01/08/2009, -0/+9Article is merely conjecture, theres no telling what Hideo will actually do.
- inactive, on 01/08/2009, -0/+9Me too. The whole series has gotten progressively zanier as time goes by, and that shouldn't change. At the same time it has stayed relevant with current events. The PMC's in MGS4 are exactly like their real-world counterpart mercenaries in Blackwater and other companies. War HAS changed. War IS being fought for profit.
Hideo just throws in the wacky stuff so people don't take it so seriously, because world events are depressing when it comes to this material. - AncientWeird, on 01/08/2009, -0/+8Hey! Who's footprints are those?
- Wootstapler, on 01/08/2009, -1/+9What the ***** I didn't expect that?!
- weezerrock86, on 01/08/2009, -0/+8Same was said for 2 and 3, I want to know why Radien is the way he is now would probably make a good 5th game.
- jcpudd, on 01/08/2009, -2/+10Microsoft is adding MSG to 360? I guess it really is made in China!
- Elranzer, on 01/08/2009, -1/+9Metal Gear -> NES and MSX
Metal Gear Solid -> PS1 and GC
Metal Gear Solid 2 -> PS2 and XBox - coldkill3r, on 01/08/2009, -0/+8Holy crap, that's a very nice price for three games! Thanks for the amazon link, I'll probably buy these and play them over summer break when I have lots of free time.
- isntreal, on 01/08/2009, -3/+11I have 3 PS3s
