- knightblade2oo4, on 10/12/2007, -12/+136I call it the birth-control table.
- ShawnHunt, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24It needs a soda dispenser.
- kidc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19Honestly I've never played any D&D type game before, RPGs don't appeal to me but after looking at those photos I've got a strange urge to drink some Mountain Dew, throw a Hot Pocket in the microwave and roll some 20-sided dice.
- MrMxyzptlk, on 10/12/2007, -6/+23NERDS!!!!
- ATLBeer, on 10/12/2007, -11/+25Comments closed.... This is perfect and all that is needed to sum up this link
- xixor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Getting the dice, drink, and snack choice correct for most D&Ders and "honestly" never played D&D? Time to come out of the closet as an RPG player!
- Idealistic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14Its not dorky enough?
- nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11that's a message TRANSPORT system. This has a message DELIVERY system.
- slicedoranges, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Bad mouth it all you want, but it's awesome.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10That table gives me this awful lonely feeling just by looking at it. :(
- Quinadal, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12I WANT THIS TABLE!
oh, and btw, I'm a girl. - MobbyG, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8CO2 taps on the side with the canisters in the cellar or something.. Yeah!
- Nesh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Says the guy wasting time commenting on digg.
- adriand, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6"Because it's better if you can pass the message without other people even knowing. I like the idea."
oh, because a metal ball rolling down a wooden ramp doesn't make any noise? have you ever played pool on a coin-op table? the balls arent metal, but it sure is damn noisy. - r4NGe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6My dnd table is cool, too. Animated water and spell effects are very nice to have. It even rolls up our initiative and points arrows at the player. I never get laid.
http://www.r4nge.com/fm/pics.htm - StarManta, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8apparently they put a lot of effort into this "Message delivery system"...
...what's wrong with folding up notes and passing them around? - Quinadal, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7So basically, what you're saying is that ANY girl that loves gaming is a dog? More likely, YOU'RE a complete loser that no female of ANY species would touch with a 10' pole.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -12/+17unfortunately, those girls would be more manly than any of the guys that would use the table.
- etruscan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I agree. This table would have sent me giggling like a little school-girl back in my RPG days... and had me seriously thinking of starting it up again, if I had the time. It's well designed. Could use a few tweaks perhaps - but man, it's great.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4the last line of your post before the link was completely and utterly un-necesary, as it was absolutely predictable..
- Kahnza, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Because 2 guys going into a private room for 5 minutes feels kinda gay. Meanwhile everyone in the other room is snickering wondering who is blowing who.
- Quinadal, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6And a pizza oven...
- DareD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Why's the DM the only one with a laptop? Makes a hell of a lot more sense to just have everyone laptoping and then IM when you need to send messages.
- mutants, on 08/17/2008, -1/+4Careful throwing that "Nerds" grenade in here. The shrapnel is going to hit most of Diggnation (yes, me too :)
- Massif, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'm attacking the darkness.
- Soldan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3all of my gamer friends have kids so its safe to say gamers can get laid..
as for the table...been there done that...there was a table at the old wizards of the coast tourney center in seattle that was pretty much the same thing years ago... good luck on trying to sell them... friends of mine marketed a table with lockers in the sides with a felt top at gencon one year....great idea for small game stores gives players a place to store thier gear and the store owner could charge a monthly rental.. - there4iam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"tubes for 'message spheres' "
...you mean, the Internet? - Quinadal, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Yeah, cos girls would NEVER play RPGs...
- liquidjill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I played AD&D as a kid and play DDO all the time now but I have to say that I'm not exactly sure about this whole "message system" thing. I admit my PnP days were a very long time ago and we were all kids playing but I know I'm missing something here.
A brief explanation or link would be appriecated for those of us that are legitimatly interested, if anyone has a moment. - burkay, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4It isn't good to mechanize RPG gameplay. This table looks like, I don't know, doesn't look warm to me. I like my RPG with all the eavesdropping, backstabbing, stretching, yawning, coffee and chips. I don't want some DM to roll balls to me instead of calling me to another room for a private chat.
- MetricLobster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3a pizza oven is goin a bit far but i think some little monitors would be cool... so you can watch tv or something or the GM could show some lame clips of people in costumes
- Otto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It sorta looks like you can only send messages to/from the GM. Messages between players are just going to have to rely on the folded paper system.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1my guess is, you write something on a peice of paper, a question or whatever, put it in the ball and roll it over to the GM. you avoid having to walk over to the GM and whisper something in his ear that you dont want other players to hear. it's a good idea i guess... a bit unnecessary but hey, so is most of the stuff on that table. at least it looks cool :)
- ChrisLowder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is the stuff 40 year old virgins are made of...
- burkay, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2re:Khanza
...and public transportation is gang bang for you? - edrift101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would have prefered a 25mm board on top that could be drawn on. Still damn cool though.
- phantascene, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Okay, I wish that I'd had this table when I was into tabletop gaming. Makes me want to get back into tabletop stuff. I can think of a few tweeks I would do to the system, starting with little keyboards and small sized monitors for message trading, but I will deffinately remember this table and order plans if I ever get back into *serious* group gaming or open a gaming store or something. lol! The ball delivery system is great for low cost message delivery though. I like that and the lights.
- icepick314, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0does it turn into a robot?
- Gurf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Vin Diesel plays DnD so you know its cool. And chicks love Vin Diesel.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1the GM station.... is *****....
- Quinadal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I don't like beer and I'm diabetic...so nothing stronger than Diet Pepsi for me..
- AustinMeoang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow o.o
- dazzlegas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hey Vin Diesel, this exact table is now on ebay! (Bidding ends mid-day Sunday)
Search for "Ultimate Game Table" on ebay, and you'll find it. - bdpf, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Darn my asides were edited out automaticly...
[Great big Smile of lust for the table and crew of RPGers to play with.]
Oh besure to bring your merc's and wear your arrmor. - dgh1973, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Because it's better if you can pass the message without other people even knowing. I like the idea.
- NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1"Soda"? How old are you people?
- ell0bo, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Naw... I was just bored and felt like being a dick. Seems to have worked ;-) . But odds are, if I ever met a girl that was into those kinds of things, I'd sincerely fall in love, but the true odds dictate that most girls into anything like this aren't the most attractive. Generally, I'd prefer the girl that looks at that table and thinks "beer pong" over a girl that looks and it and thinks "d+d".
Generally the kind of girls that sit around a table like this for hours, aren't the most physcially fit. Just a thought. And yes, most girls will gladly touch me with a 10' pole, although i like the keep that pole around to fend them off. Have a nice day. - bdpf, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Not into paper RPG [Action RPG is my game] but this table intresting. A battle axe burried in the center of the table might stop game play. Shoting arrows at the Game Master is frowned on. "My Rouge merc is just prtecting me. You should not have thrown the can of beer at me after I damaged the table. That wimp paper mage tried to kill me. Just wanted to correct him on what he could do. Someone better call 911, the Game Master is still bleeding." "At least I didn't burn the table with a Fire Ball or freeze the whole room with an Ice Orb. The Mage Sword would have spilt the table in two." "Okay, the axe was a little harsh. I'm sorry I damaged your table and thats only a flesh wound from a clean arrow. The frost burns will heal before the flesh wound. Wheres a level 60 druid when you need one?" "No officer, I didn't shoot him with the arrow. It was my Rouge merc, defending me. He tried to hit me with a beer can. Yes, I burried the axe in the table. yes, I will repair or pay damages. Put away those cuffs! The Rouge,, OMG Kalie, you killed him!" [screams, running foot steps] The air is cool on our sweaty faces, as shoots are fired in the house behind us. A mumbled word and we vanish.
A_SorcofBeauty - FrankBattaglia, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Wow, super-old. Like, years...
- Zalien, on 10/12/2007, -18/+11I'd like to think that some girls would think the table is cool...
