Valve did a study before they released the game and players would do anything to avoid areas where they could hear those stupid things. Or, if the players were in an enclosed space when they heard that high pitched baby's rattle sound, they freaked out and started spraying bullets.

    In SMB3, it's that ***** fish. You know the one. The one that swallows you whole, and respawns twice as fast as Lakitu.

He eventually gets a 40-hour a week job, has to spend once valuable gaming time to impress his woman to earn sex, and sadly one day chooses "casual".

  • themarq, on 02/05/2008, -0/+15Really? The Manhacks? I found the headcrabs far more annoying. The manhacks could at least by grabbed by the gravity gun then slammed into a wall, which I found very satisfying.
  • SirBrittanicus, on 02/05/2008, -1/+14I think the fast zombies are far more annoying. All headcrabs can be taken care of with one swing of the crowbar- even on hard mode. But fast zombies are, well, uberfast and take a few shotgun blasts to kill.

    In fact, add Antlions, Manhacks and Hunters to that list. They all suck as well.

    Though I officially nominate the poison headcrab chuckers. You don't see them often, but every time I HATE them. Those are the worst (the fast zombies are also really bad).
