I personally remember a cheat from Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire for the Nintendo 64. It required you to hold down A, B, L, R, Z, and then manipulate the control stick to the Left and Right until a tone sounded, signifying that you unlocked the cheat menu. I also liked that in Descent II, if you used GABBAGABBAHEY, it put your levels to 1%.... that and the woman's voice the whispered 'cheater' every time you got a kill while in cheat mode...

1. get some loans
2. save game and quit.
3. open game in DOS debuger (you don't have much hex editors when you're 10)
4. find you funds in hex format.
5. change it to most F's that you can without overlapping other stuff. save.
6. load you game.
7. repay you loans and still have plenty of money.
