It could have been another title and it would have made them all bitter, but no, they announced D3 after all this time we have been waiting for it and lo and behold there are people who still find something to complain about.
I can honestly say that the people who sign the petition or moan about how it looks are the vast minority of the people who really appreciate the Diablo universe. If I had it my way, I would divert some cash to devise a plan so the people who sign the petition not be allowed near the title forever. - Halsfield, on 07/13/2008, -1/+7just play with the screen off if you want it that dark. Things can be evil while still being vibrant. The first game was so dark and gloomy because you were playing a billion miles underground beneath the church. When you're in a jungle it should look green, when you're in a desert setting it should have lots of light reflecting off the white/tan sands. Its stupid to make things dark just for the sake of darkness.

- lensman00, on 07/12/2008, -2/+7As a single player Diablo fan, I worry a little about the new 'health orb' system. The more subtle classes already had huge problems with Diablo and Baal (i.e. boss wipes out your companions and half your health in the first five seconds, and the rest becomes an exercise in running away, lobbing damage, and drinking potions). Without a stock of health potions available, that type of encounter will need some serious rebalancing. The opportunity is there to make some improvements, though, so the uber-boss encounters work better for the non-fighter classes.

The colors don't bother me. I even like the infamous rainbow scene. It's the 'crazy-manga-huge' armor that I'm not fond of. Why in the HELL would leather gauntlets be 10 inches thick? I want my Barb to look like a warrior, not something from Spore. :P

Hopefully this is just the resolution and larger screens can also compensate. Sometimes more isn't always better but overall the game looks very promising!

Multiple different colors does not make good contrast. Few, very different ones do.
Things can still be lacking evil and still look ominous - that's the Diablo way. - Halsfield, on 07/13/2008, -0/+2i think they are trying to balance the boss and just general fights around things other than spamming potions. Like strategy.

- kingmanic, on 07/13/2008, -2/+3You could do it with a zookeeper and a auradin. Uber bosses only required a smiter. All other classes were superfluous and just made it harder. I only ever brought others along if I was power leveling them.
