I love how the kid playing is all twitchy and pumped up while playing the game... thats too funny.. .like tetris is an intense button masher. - meekar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2he's saying, "You need a tetris shot!"
- 8ight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1that little song that play during the opening second or two is used in a porn dvd i have. nurses on call or something like that. good dvd.

I still have my NES, I was playing duck hunt yesterday... loads of fun - alceria, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I remember this. I feel old. :)
- MoonKing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Sigh. An apostrophe makes things possessive, not plural. So I guess the poster meant "1980s"."
Plurals of numbers can be written with or without an apostrophe. - modpancake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Awesome, I love old ads. Thanks for the direct link too, as opposed to some crappy blog post. +Digg.
- sheldonwilson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I remember a Dr. Mario ad that used the Witchdoctor song and had a a witchdoctor in it... It's a hazy memory, but it's there.
...found it. Here's the real jewel of the Dr. Mario commercial collection:
http://dl.fileplanet.com/dl/dl.asp?classicgaming/tmk/comm_drm.mpg
And there's a bunch of other good ads on this page:
http://www.themushroomkingdom.net/mania/ads.shtml - jackspack, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2and the 80;s and 90's hates little alternatwits like you...
- Wantednz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Use your thumbs! Use your eyes? Find yourself Tetrisized. O.o
- saysaknow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Am I the only one noticing the terrible audio quality?

- TexMachina, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I remember this ad. I remember being irritated that Nintendo was laying claim to "introducing" Tetris after it had been on the PC for years. An original puzzle game direct from Soviet Russia. This was back when it was a peculiar notion for a computer game to come out of Russia.
I also remember the original Tetris having a Cyrillic R in the name and Russian architecture in the background graphics all paying tribute to its origins. - giveer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sorry bout the double post but...
"LOL i wasent born for another 10 years"
--"How freaking old are you? 10?"
----"IT would make him 16, i think you have the brain of a 10 yearold ;)"
Actually, it would make him 7. Tops. The version of Tetris in the commercial was released in 1989.

Born 10 years later would've been 1999 - only 7 years ago.
Just to quell the spat with some research. As you were. - Noize, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0lol by the time i loaded this page and clicked digg it went up 150 diggs

On kind of a related note does any one remeber a show named Captain D and the Nintendo heros? It was a show where some guy got sucked in to his NES and he had adventures with Mega Man and link and stuff. - Mongoose, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0lmao!! that's so hardcore! +digg
- pintong, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Holy heck.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That commercial makes your brain good and soft.
- residentweevil, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My first year in college. I remember hanging out drinking beer and obsessively watching each other play gunning for a new high score.
That's going on in dorm rooms around the country today. Are we going to laugh at today's ads in 20-30 years? Of course we are...but more like 5-10 years.
Thanks for the flashback. - eyeballkid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Here are a few of my favorite video game commercials:
I really liked the commercials from the mid-1980's for the Atari 5200 console coin-op game adaptations...
This commercial for Atari Joust is really weird, even kinda scary: http://media.putfile.com/atari_joust_dvix401b
The sexy, sax-playing Centipede commercial: http://media.putfile.com/atari_club_centipede_dvix401b
But my favorite Atari commercial of all time was this one for Pole Position: http://media.putfile.com/atari_pole_position_dvix401b
I also loved this Japanese Nintendo commercial. That kid getting hit by the city bus and slammed into a wall is just too hilarious. The Nintendo "School Out" commercial: http://media.putfile.com/school2235
Here's an awesome N64 video game commercial: http://gameads.gamepressure.com/tv_game_commercial.asp?ID=605 - cesclaveria, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wasnt Captain N??
And that show was great... I was a loyal fan - cliche_kitty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Now, with BLAST Processing!
Uh, yeah...whatever. - PseudoCyborg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I had completely forgotten about that commercial!
- bugleboy624, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ah, memories.
- xjbri, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The beginning of Mtv fast-paced style editing, because kids don't have an attention span of more than 2 seconds, lol.
- fiv3isaliv3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0they need to bring back the old catch phrase.
- dixonr315, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That music rocks, sadly I remember that commercial, I was so young when it aired. Now I feel old lol.
- Catalyst, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ow ow my eyes......... make it go away. I now do what the squirrels say........
- funkytaco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I remember that commercial now. I also remember there was some russian song that played if you won, then rockets launched or something? Hmm, it's been a while.
