- DiscoStu101, on 11/01/2007, -6/+314As I read this article and got more and more freaked out, I suddenly understood why old people are so afraid of computers.
- chris9902, on 10/15/2007, -4/+157#7: Skynet becomes self-aware
- Cappez, on 10/15/2007, -1/+150Dugg for this:
"About five minutes after the eye-projection technology hits the market, advertisers will find a way to superimpose ads over every damned surface you look at. It will detect your eyes staring at some girl’s boobs, and suddenly across her cleavage you’ll see the URL for www.soyouliketolookattitties.com." - mauso, on 10/15/2007, -8/+156"We hereby predict that by the year 2028, someone, somewhere, will literally wipe his ass with a computer more powerful than any that exists today."
Dugg.
Dugg the ***** out of it. - MawBTS, on 10/15/2007, -6/+134This article is way way above most stuff at Cracked. Really funny and when you leave the computer you think about the world a different way. Awesome job.
- MasonStormchild, on 10/15/2007, -7/+131So...who else is going to go join the Amish?
- maklershed, on 10/15/2007, -0/+87I cant wait to play Halo 13 in my flying car.
- Laughto, on 10/15/2007, -5/+70Good article. If we can download our brains to computers presumably we'll be able to upload them to robots in the real world too, with all the associated sense perceptions. Good a reason as any to start a robot fund.
- stackered, on 10/13/2007, -4/+63i personally cant wait until i can wipe my ass with a computer
- MerryMortician, on 10/13/2007, -2/+53the blue screen of death will have a whole new meaning if the system we upload our minds to is windows based.
- egroeggnik, on 10/15/2007, -1/+46Didn't we pass that point a few years ago?
- Hipple, on 10/13/2007, -2/+45One day we'll look back and know that grandma was right. We should have feared the computers...
- chogie, on 10/13/2007, -2/+41http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVnkd7ot_pw
- Cappez, on 10/15/2007, -1/+40Only thing is...as the virtual world gets prettier, people will get uglier (fat & lazy couch potatoes).
At some point, you're gonna be afraid to meet someone else in real life! - pAq6Swad, on 09/16/2008, -1/+39Did anyone see the image of the "tiny, working IBM circuit" and "A human ***** hair"? Haha. . .
- Static30, on 10/13/2007, -0/+37I can finally look forward to retiring and play video games all day without worrying about going to work in the morning.
Years of dedicated gaming has finally paid off.
You can thank my generation for this, that right the first gaming addicts from the Atari generation.
Without us gaming never would have taken off. - doctorfungi, on 10/13/2007, -2/+35Just give us some games that last more than a week in single player mode!
- zaii7, on 10/13/2007, -0/+32Love the article
makes me miss my dreamcast - tektalk, on 10/15/2007, -3/+35*****, when computers start simulating real world life, count me in.
- Thex1138, on 10/13/2007, -2/+34"Do you believe in the users?
yeah sure, if I don't have a user then who wrote me?" - tyywebb, on 10/13/2007, -1/+32Technically you could right now...
- adraft, on 10/13/2007, -0/+29Consoles in your eyeball/head? Unlikely, what happens when it comes time for the next generation? I'm not having brain surgery every six years so that I can play a game.
- Koldkompress, on 10/15/2007, -2/+311) It's a joke site
2) The future of gaming isn't purely dependant on games. The article focuses on technology, not fantasizing about how Halo 7 is set in the Lair Universe and you get to have Master Chief flying a dragon while you jerk off. - Dundasbro, on 10/14/2007, -1/+27What happens when that copy is uploaded to a robot? You would never die, yet you would. Creeeepyyyyyyy
- pigfister, on 10/13/2007, -7/+31What i see for future gaming is sony charging extortionate prices for everything, putting DRM everywhere they can, shoving advertising in as many places as possible including pop ups so they can maximise revenue, the demise of small software houses that develop some of the most fun and entertaining quality software and an endless spew out of ridge racer and tekken spin offs with better graphics, so games must be better. atm it sucks lets hope the gaming community can avoid the corporate shareholder demise of the industry that is atm all about profit.
my 5cents worth! - Intangible360, on 10/13/2007, -2/+25I think someone misunderstands exactly what Sony Home is...it is not nearly as impressive as it has been made out to be.
- Thex1138, on 10/13/2007, -1/+23..2:40 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, August 29th, 1997. In the panic they try and pull the plug...
- lorddazzer, on 10/13/2007, -3/+24The concept of saving your "mind" was covered in Vanilla Sky. And also, Ghost in the Shell uses this theme quite heavily. CyberBrains are alternatives to natural brains, and you can upload your brain, and even transfer from one body to another. Then there's the ghost hack ^^ great fun.
- inactive, on 10/14/2007, -1/+21No pseudo science article is complete without a reference to either a "human hair" or a "football field" unit of measurement.
- djruden, on 10/13/2007, -0/+19As long as I can keep my original copy in my head, I'm all for backing up my memories to tape.
- inactive, on 10/13/2007, -1/+19the downside is that it's the copy of your mind that lives forever, not you.
- slapded, on 10/13/2007, -1/+19im scared.
- GeyserShitdick, on 10/13/2007, -0/+18No, what is that?
- Mattja, on 10/13/2007, -1/+19I've now taken steps to ensure you are NOT the first person to do that.... Hoorah!
- OreganoAC, on 10/13/2007, -1/+19You mean the part when he says that the PS3 is being trounced by the Wii and the Xbox 360? Or when he mentions the Nintendo DS but not the PSP? You're right, he's probably on the payroll with Sony.
- archaist, on 10/13/2007, -1/+18You will for Final Fantasy 38.
- Thex1138, on 10/13/2007, -3/+20"They're planning on half a million stars with millions of planets orbiting. When we say "infinite," we mean it. We're talking about a game you could literally spend the rest of your natural life exploring without ever reaching the end." - crikey!
- rupprupp29, on 10/13/2007, -1/+18Dugg for "badderass"
- Klarth, on 10/13/2007, -1/+17Yeah, man, 'freaking'? Psh. The description totally needs more profanity. That'd be totally ***** awesome. *****. ***** ***** ***** PISS ***** *****.
- BEDrocko, on 10/13/2007, -0/+15Don't get me wrong... spore looks totally awesome... but what's with these games that never end? :-(
- elementfire, on 10/13/2007, -3/+18Best Spore preview, ever.
- BEDrocko, on 10/13/2007, -2/+17note to self...
when programming computer brain control AI, step one, remove all memory of grandma...
*evil laugh* - LaueOfficer, on 10/13/2007, -2/+16Dugg for "Efforts to make them smaller than that will probably, like, make you travel back in time or some *****."
- plizard, on 10/13/2007, -1/+15we are the borg, lower your shields and surrender your ships. we will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. resistance is futile.
- inactive, on 10/13/2007, -13/+27Pity the author if the article seems to have his ass rammed with the wholesome goodness of Sony's viral marketing department.
- psykiv, on 10/13/2007, -1/+15But that sounds painful :(
- Fallout911, on 10/13/2007, -1/+14This has to be one of the better articles that I've read in the past few weeks.
- trogdor282, on 10/13/2007, -1/+14Here's my idea: While your brain is busy in the VR world, a 'maintenance program' downloads into your body, and takes it to the gym. Think gigai from Bleach.
- ophello, on 10/13/2007, -1/+14wow...someone who understands.
- Romanito, on 10/13/2007, -3/+15haha... because Microsoft sux.
haha I'm cool and funny. -
