- pozzoe, on 10/12/2007, -51/+11Ok, I don't see anything in Linux....
- obey43, on 10/12/2007, -38/+10sucks, i agree.
try ies4linux... - pabster, on 10/12/2007, -62/+12Try a real operating system.
- djflx, on 10/12/2007, -11/+20@pabster
Try not destroying the platform independence that was supposed to be the point of the WWW. - pabster, on 10/12/2007, -19/+13@djflx
Just being realistic. There's no Flash 8/9 for Linux. - djflx, on 10/12/2007, -13/+18@pabster
Which makes Macromedia/Adobe lame, not Linux. - pabster, on 10/12/2007, -17/+11@djflx
Um, no. Why should they spend their time and resources developing for an OS that has such a small share of the marketplace?
I know it's easy to jump on the Linux bandwagon with all the fanboys around Digg, but once you step back to reality... - bleepzortblop, on 10/12/2007, -23/+1waah!!! boo hoo for you! your linux POS doesn't work...boo f'ing hoo....how bout S'ingTFU next time and use your genius brain to find a computer with a browser that works....you're missing out on awesome website....
...as for Mario on the DS - MOFO's at the store didn't have it today so I had to slap them bitches around until they told me that they would have it tomorrow. Why the F do they say it's coming out on the 15th meanwhile they really mean to say it's coming out on the 16th?? Ah fak, who cares, I'm getting my greasy palms on it in a couple hours and that's all that counts. - djflx, on 10/12/2007, -8/+5@pabster
"...platform independence that was supposed to be the point of the WWW."
Not making $$$. - Chozabu, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5"There's no Flash 8/9 for Linux."
err, if youve been keeping up with the news (i dunno, reading digg perhaps?)
then you would probably know form the next release on flash will be released at the same time tri platform
also, if a "real operating" system means viruses, BSODs, more bugs than you can count (that MS seem to have no intention of fixing for the most part) and being in the same group as windows fanboys, ill just stick with this unreal operating system
oh yeah, if youre really unhappy with non-windows operating systems, you should prob stop using digg, and most of the internet for that matter... - KosherSpam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Get over it. While you Linux and Mac guys have Flash, I'm using BeOS and don't get squat. This crap has gone on for long enough.
- obey43, on 10/12/2007, -38/+10sucks, i agree.
- Lyke, on 10/12/2007, -12/+2I am getting it tomorrow!.
- EdHaber, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18I bought this game this morning. Its awesome.
-Ed - cambrown99, on 10/12/2007, -7/+9Picked up the game a few hours ago, but have to wait until June 11th for my DS Lite to play it. At least the box is pretty.
- Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Apparently IGN gave it a 9.5:
http://ds.ign.com/objects/682/682879.html
When I get my DS Lite, I'm sure to pick this one up.- DigeratiPrime, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I am on the same page, the DS has some good games but i will wait for DS Lite to come out before I consider buying it.
- Nukem945, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Do you think there will be shortages of DS Lites? I seem to remember the DS Lite selling out in Japan when it was released. What's the best way to ensure you get a DS Lite on June 11th?
- rasterbator, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4once again. three exclamations. is that really necessary? signed, Eeyore
- awfulshot, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1dude, i am SOOO making a SHIRT!
- oldtimegamer, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3got this at E3 and have been playing all week. Was to easy to finish IMO.
- megashaun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5It is sort of easy, but the fun is in finding all the secrets.
- ahatter, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2got it paid for but game stop doesnt get it till tomorrow after noon :' (
- djflx, on 10/12/2007, -17/+5Oooh! Requires Flash 8.
No Digg for you.- retral, on 10/12/2007, -14/+7Wahh.. just update and save yourself the hassle.
- djflx, on 10/12/2007, -16/+9
No Linux Flash 8, dumbass.
- Ollin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4This is the reason I'm buying a DS........along for the castlevania games :D
- retral, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Wow, that site is really well done.. go nintendo. And I'll probably end up getting this game and a DS lite when they become readily available.
- dongiaconia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Yea, honestly, I normally hate websites with a lot of flash. I can't believe how much I like this one. *****, I even left the tab open just for the music playing in the background. God, okay that's sad.
- anillop, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Wow that site was awesome. Well done Nintendo. That company impresses me more and more lately. I might have to break down and buy that horribly named Wii to go with my 360.
- wtfunkymonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I'm liking everything I saw so far. That giant mushroom was unreal.
Though I don't really know about the multiplayer mode, looks a little bit... akward.- SAOSiN, on 10/12/2007, -10/+5hit the wrong reply button. mod on down plz
- oneisnotprime, on 10/12/2007, -10/+7Infuriating how these games are never available on "release day" (out here in Phoenix anyway) when you've been drooling for them for months. Every store quotes you a different release date (along with their preorder pitch) and the typical Electronics Rep doesn't know any more about it than my grandma. This would never fly in the motion picture industry! All I know is that if I can't get my Wii at midnight on release day I will charter a flight to your city, personally kick your butt, and force you to watch me hang with Twilight Princess (No I don't feel gay saying that) while you can only play Superman 64 on Virtual Console.
P.S. My grandma is dead.- SAOSiN, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I'm sorry for your loss....may she rest in peace.
No more $20 coming for you in the mail for your birthday =(
- SAOSiN, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I'm sorry for your loss....may she rest in peace.
- maxsunset, on 10/12/2007, -19/+3OK, we REALLY DON'T need to hear every last stupid detail about New Super Mario Bros. on Digg. It's out. Done. Leave it be! No freekin digg.
- Cleanskater, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12Am I the only one that kept hitting the links at the top to see the coins bouncing up over and over again? Cool music...but then again...I've been drinking all night. :P
- Aurarch, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5I, for one, love the bouncing coins =D
- kjcillustration, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2And I, for one, have been drinking all night as well! :)
- americanXP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I ha vent been this excited about Mario since "Super Mario World" for the Super Nintendo.
~ AMXP - noeljohnhoward, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Will I be able to chat over AIM with the ds lite?
will meebo work?
any1 know!?- mercatfat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Yes.
- noeljohnhoward, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1awesome
- dainbramage559, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Theres good news for Linux users who are looking forward to a Flash update. Apparently, the people at Macromedia will be skipping flash 8 for linux and releasing Flash 8.5 for Linux (and other operating systems) when it is ready.
- psylence, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Wow, they'll release it when it's ready, that's incredible news and well worth informing us. Thanks!
- pabster, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Thanks for a great laugh =)
- boozedrinker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5This is a sweet site - the design is awesome!
- truax, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5You can unlock a bonus wallpaper if you click all the elements on the screen..i.e: coins, blocks, the mushroom
- yongfook, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5This is a beautiful website. It's just so *mario*. I'm pretty sure this site was designed and implemented by a team who were themselves big fans of the game - you can see the love.
- tc811, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4The game is great.
- dagr8tim, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2Having just solved SMB3 for NES before reading this (I was bored tonight). I'm a bit dissapointed by the screen shots. It looks like they have taken SMB3 & combined it with the SNES & N64 versions of Mario. It looks like the recycled way too much and have way too little new material.
- dagr8tim, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1I said recycled 'way too much' not "recycled EVERYTHING".
- eddieroger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I thought the fun/point of this game was that it was a throwback. I'm looking very forward to the linear gameplay mixed with the additions to Mario's feature set over the years. I guess I just figured "New" meant remake, since its such a popular thing to do nowadays anyway (movies mostly).
- serpentor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I'm really hard pressed between an Xbox360 and a DS Lite for my next purchase, both are so tempting.. and I definitely only have the time for one.
- rmulhern, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Go with the DS its got alot of good fun games out. My xbox 360 has been on for 45 minutes since I bought it because.. Well... theres nothing I want to play for it! Theres only one release coming out like once a week for it if that. In fact there hasnt been one game released for the 360 this month so far. The only downfall of the Lite is that its not actually out yet!
- kolop1, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1rmulhern
I am sorry there is no Mario for the 360. I know i used to like side scrolling games.........about 15 years ago. - burrito4891, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1the 360 and DS are both cool and have there benefits, but I'd probably go with the DS too as it just has more good games. I'm sure with time the 360 will have a lot of good games too, although at the pace that the DS is going im not sure the 360 could ever catch up/match the amount. tough decision, for sure.
- EvlD99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you play games with your friends get the 360 if not you should be fine with the DS. I have both and tend to play the DS while commuting and the 360 at home.
The one thing that annoys me about the DS is that a lot of the good games have embarrassingly childish graphics and dialog (Advance Wars *cough*).
- nickarodriguez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I got this game today, and it is nothing short of amazing. I've been playing for almost 4 hours and I haven't even known it. Its 12:30 at night now...this is a must have DS title!!!
- Tonyisbad, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I might just buy a DS just to play this game, who needs a PSP when nintendo is coming out with great new products..
- mercatfat, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Hello, and welcome to six months ago!
- kolop1, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3 Six months ago? Try 20 years ago. I remember playing side scrolling Mario back in 86.
- HouD, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7This is seriously one of the most - if not the most - beautiful websites I've ever seen.
Huge props to Nintendo for putting so much effort into the website.- vtwin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1For some reason, I thought the same thing while browsing the site.
I'm sure Nintendo invested more than usually to build this one, and I don't think it was a one man effort.
- vtwin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1For some reason, I thought the same thing while browsing the site.
- coheedcollapse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Just saw a commercial for it on Comedy Central. God this game has me drooling. I'm so glad I got a DS.
Now I need to get back to my PSP to play SMB All Stars on the emulator until the day comes. (i'm too lazy to hook up my SNES or NES)
I didn't notice how screwed up that sounded until I re-read it. - Drewjames, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You mean the NEW New Super Mario Bros. site just launched?
- RobbieCrash, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This makes me happy. Watching the game footage, I can't help but smile and want to play Mario1 again. A great game, and I still haven't beat it without going through the warps and not continuing.
- ZeorS, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I love that SUPER big man, hahaha!
- ferrold, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Does any one know if this game will come to the Wii??
I feel a bit silly buying a DS Lite just to play Super Mario...
I know that Super Mario Galaxy is comming for the Wii - but i sooooo want to relive my platform childhood!- Coffeedemon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Then play Tetris, Metroid, Age of Empires and/or thousands of GBA games. Well worth the money. I just started Final Fantasy 2 and 2 worlds away from finally finishing Yoshi's Island. (never got around to finishing that back in the day)
- daeggman, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1While it's kewl that this game is being released today, the site didn't "JUST" launch today. It's actually been up for at least the last 3 weeks, releasing new gameplay movies every Monday since April 24. Granted, the site has been redesigned somewhat, unlocking some more features, but still, that's not "just launched."
- vtwin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's a major redesign, the new sub-sections are very interesting (well at least to me)
- anarchy99, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2people who have a flashme have been playing this new mario for over i week i got to say its quite fun
- longwang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4A new mario game is probably enough to get me to buy a DS....Lite that is. The website is slick too.
- vannasty, on 10/12/2007, -9/+0Nintendo is ghey
- jephyb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1...so much for intelligent comments.
- szembek, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Will I be able to get it for ps2? ;)
- milkfilk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What a fun website! I was pulled in and driving to explore and click on the various movies. Music plays while loading, sounds just like a DS. Awesome. Go N.
- PrinceofSpace, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm a little surprised saying it, but I think NSMB is going to sell me DS Lite.
- treehead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1GO JOEL!
- jonthegamer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0its like there a record to set how many can be grounded (something like that sort of new), but anyways this game looks realy good cant wait until i can manage to get a new game
- vtwin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Incredible Flash work, it almost seems like the designers worked with the TNSMB team to recreate part of the game in Flash.
Browsing Digg on your phone just got easier with our enhancements to the
