- inactive, on 10/31/2009, -0/+9Porn is about to be taken to a whole new level.
- protodon, on 10/31/2009, -1/+6The next level, a probe in your anus that reacts to every move of your sphincter muscle. Going too far?
- Neworab, on 10/30/2009, -0/+5Squeeze whatever they're holding?
heh heh heh. - Nerfdude, on 10/31/2009, -0/+4you.... you'd go out and steal a car and use it to mow down pedestrians while running from SWAT vans?
- stoooryteller, on 10/29/2009, -1/+5Virtual reality coming back=)
- LarkStew, on 10/31/2009, -0/+4What's the obsession with controlling games without a physical controller? I imagine you would feel less immersed in the game, not more immersed. When I drive my car I use a physical steering wheel, I don't just wave my hands where I want the car to go.
- TechnoRabbit, on 10/31/2009, -0/+4You don't? I do that every friday. Plus, I try to hit the little old ladies. They're so ***** smug when they cross the street. "Oh, look at me, I can barely walk." *****.
- bigbangbuddha, on 11/02/2009, -0/+4"allow gamers to play air "Guitar Hero""
So not only can someone now play fake guitar, they can fake playing fake guitar!!!! - stockwitch, on 10/29/2009, -1/+4Amazing possibilities. Can't wait to see it implemented.
- bloupotlood, on 10/31/2009, -0/+2Of course this would require actual muscles to work, right? Definitely not an MMO mechanic then.
- diggdong, on 10/31/2009, -1/+3Air guitar
- Infowarsdotcom, on 10/31/2009, -0/+2Yeah this is not appealing at all.
If I'm going to play a game I'm going to play a GAME. Not a simulation of real life. - Nerfdude, on 10/31/2009, -0/+2remember VR arcades in the mid 90's?
maybe this is going to be rad afterall. - thebeginning, on 10/31/2009, -0/+1WAT. That is seriously cool technology, and the best application they can think of is guitar hero and operating an ipod while carrying crap (and a baby). C'mon, folks.
In other news, the demonstrator guy in the video messed up a few times. I like the part where his index finger couldn't find his thumb. - Azuvector, on 10/31/2009, -1/+2Sure, neural interfaces are more flexible, but they're also still very early in design. Think of just slipping an armband on or something, and having it sync wirelessly/plug in to a compatible device. Be useful as hell, I'd imagine, to have hands-free use of fairly complex controls in a lot of situations. I'm not talking gaming, especially.
- Nerfdude, on 10/31/2009, -1/+2you thought a revamped Gamecube with a revamped Power Glove for a controller was taking it to the next level?
- Smiley09, on 10/31/2009, -0/+1That's called taking a taxi.
- DrunkRobot, on 11/02/2009, -0/+1This would be much more practical for gaming than the technology Natal is based on. As usual, Microsoft is headed in the wrong direction. But regardless of the platform, I really wonder how many people want to play games without a controller? Based on what I've seen so far, I'm really not interested. I like my controller!
- inactive, on 10/31/2009, -1/+2Considering most gamers shouldn't they be fat sensors?
- MeltingIce, on 10/31/2009, -0/+1Air guitar is an awful example... I'd much rather be holding something tangible in my hands that resembles an instrument when I play it.
Either way, the technology sounds pretty cool. - fuzzynyanko, on 10/31/2009, -0/+1While cool, it looks very hard to set up as it is, which may make it too much work or too tricky for gaming. If they make it a sleeve, it may work.
I would see it work well for those that can't move that well, like those with disabilities. - Damion67, on 11/02/2009, -0/+1Neat concept though I still like the "hands on" gaming. Also Guitar Hero has 5 buttons, how does I ever play TTFAF on expert?
- LarkStew, on 10/31/2009, -0/+1Yeah and I have zero interest in driving when I'm sat in a taxi.
- RyanoPT, on 10/31/2009, -1/+1Random Asian man with a baby ftw!
- Barackalypse, on 10/31/2009, -3/+3If I wanted to go through the physical motions, I'd go outside and play for real, not shell out $50 for a game to sit in front of the TV.
- sierrabravo, on 10/31/2009, -1/+1next they're gonna stick a ***** probe up your ass to control the game. Up goes forward, down goes backward... strafing would be a little difficult...
- Jedakiah, on 10/30/2009, -2/+1Yeah not really. Researchers have been working on hats that do the same thing and much more. A hat is a lot easier to put on than that thing. Plus you would have to wear one on both arms, legs, and your neck, to capture all of the muscles required for most games.
The future of video gaming, porn, and lots more is going to be something similar to the technology you see in the TV show Caprica.
