- pstroll, on 03/05/2009, -2/+46Unfortunately the only playable character is Yoko
- sanikto, on 03/05/2009, -2/+44Number 9? Number 9? Number 9?
- dbldn, on 03/05/2009, -0/+34I hope some of the bad ass medleys from Abbey Road are playable and interconnected with one another...
- slangmann, on 03/05/2009, -3/+31250 is ridiculous.
- Roxwuff, on 03/05/2009, -1/+24Is anyone else reminded of the Dreamcast 9.9.99 release date?
- doshindude, on 03/05/2009, -1/+22GH:Metallica is made by activision, not harmonix. different companies here.
- Turkman182, on 03/05/2009, -5/+22I've held off buying Rock Band because of this game and it looks like waiting will pay off. This should be cool. Glad they're including replica instruments.
- snobrder218, on 03/05/2009, -1/+15Don't provide false info. This is an update via joystiq:
Update: Speaking to an MTV representative, we confirmed that despite the "collaborative decision" to append the Rock Band brand, The Beatles will remain a "custom, standalone, dedicated game experience." MTV and Harmonix are not willing to discuss matters regarding DLC or song importation yet.
http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/05/the-beatles-rock ... - bigfatphony19, on 03/06/2009, -0/+11I'm betting that it will actually come out one AFTER 9-09.
- BpWally, on 03/05/2009, -1/+12A $250 price tag for the premium edition makes me officially stop caring about plastic instrument games.
- mywhitenoise, on 03/06/2009, -1/+12It's a good thing they're using MASTER recordings.
- inactive, on 03/05/2009, -1/+12I'll play it, but I'm expecting this game to be easy as hell...even on expert.
- form3hide, on 03/06/2009, -0/+10Wait, so, The Beatles will be on a video game but they won't release their music digitally? Am I missing something?
- minnymoo, on 03/05/2009, -1/+11I guess we'll just have to Let It Be.
- vegx, on 03/05/2009, -3/+12As much as I love the Beatles, many of their classic hits don't exactly have the most engaging guitar/drum parts to play, especially if you're just playing them with the little controllers.
The singing of course will still be great to do. - flyingsquirle, on 03/05/2009, -2/+11Finally they are bringing worthwhile bands onto Rock Band
(not saying there aren't, but I just really like the Beatles...) - wontstoptalking, on 03/05/2009, -0/+8I hope you can just purchase the songs off of Xbox Live or buy the standalone disc...I don't want an instrument. I mean, sure, a replica Beatles drum set would be awesome, but a little plastic playschool squeeky one?
- happybot, on 03/05/2009, -1/+9Bad singer? Then Octopus's Garden is for you!
- cervantzt, on 03/06/2009, -0/+7The Beatles also stopped touring because the screams from their fans drowned out their performance to the point where no one could hear their music, whether it was a good show or bad.
I believe there are more examples of a Rock Band sound in Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's, The Beatles (White Album), Abbey Road and Let It Be (Past Masters Vol 2 as well) than any of their earlier stuff.
Tell me this won't make for an interesting guitar game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bav0rsanNqQ
Lastly, living on a college campus I would have to say that your idea of under 30 Beatles fans is severe a severe underestimation. - DephexTwin, on 03/06/2009, -1/+8What, do you think you're too good for pronouns?
- peterjmag, on 03/05/2009, -2/+9Ringo sang too.
- SreyaNotfilc, on 03/06/2009, -0/+6That song is really bad to listen to before you go to bed. It gives me nightmares. But, I do hope that they have Revolution 9 as a playable song on the game.
- angelgabe, on 03/05/2009, -0/+6Complete new game, not just DLC.
- Phroday, on 03/05/2009, -1/+7I believe in Harmonix. Activision can suck it. I cant wait for the new Amplitude theyre working on.
- TheBlueVulcan, on 03/05/2009, -1/+7Never heard of Yellow Submarine?
- djpray2k, on 03/05/2009, -2/+8I got in to GH at GH3 and loved it, then got GH2 which was cool. Now I've got World Tour and for all the bells and whistles the reason it doesn't hate so highly for me is the amount of 'pop' tunes that don't go well with a guitar, the main instrument for the game. I've never played Beatles on a real guitar but I really don't know if these tunes will have enough in them to make them an interesting guitar game.
- Remy1985, on 03/06/2009, -0/+6Oh my god, I thought you were being facetious. Really, Oasis....really?
- mooseofshadows, on 03/05/2009, -2/+8I'm glad someone else thought this too.
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 03/06/2009, -0/+5Seriously? Rock Band has 600 songs and you can't find anything you like?
- Lyght, on 03/06/2009, -0/+5Expert texpert, choking smoker. Don't you think the joker laughs at you?
- snobrder218, on 03/06/2009, -1/+6gunge? You mean, grunge? ***** you, Pearl Jam is one of the best bands of the 90s.
Fyi: KoRn isn't "Modern", they were formed in 1993, unless you mean their new music. Yes, they're still around and making music, but still doesn't deter from the fact that they're about 16 years old.
Without the Beatles, KoRn may not be around. The Beatles really lead the Rock Revolution back in the 60s. The Beatles are probably the most recognizable band and one of the most popular. Just because YOU don't like their music doesn't mean the whole world agrees with you. - mabsark, on 03/06/2009, -0/+5Ever heard of Thomas the Tank Engine
- mabsark, on 03/06/2009, -0/+5Coo Coo Ca Choo
- Jeffler, on 03/06/2009, -0/+4Oasis is probably my favourite band but to say that ANY of them are one of the best ANYTHINGS ever is stupid.
- SteveMax, on 03/06/2009, -0/+4Metallica was one of the best bands in the world during the 80s. Unfortunately, they disbanded after the black album (well, at least they stopped when their sound was starting to suck; that album had 2 or 3 good Metallica songs); then a crappy pop band started using their name. That crappy band still exists today.
The real Metallica wanted people to bootleg their shows so that everybody could listen to their live performances. The pop metallica hated the interwebs and helped bringing Napster down. - mabsark, on 03/06/2009, -0/+4I would stand up and walk out on you.
- TheGooseyOne, on 03/05/2009, -3/+7Now the real question is, will there be a purchasable replica sitar?
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 03/06/2009, -1/+5It sounds like the bundle will have two guitars though, which would make it worth it.
- bigfatphony19, on 03/05/2009, -0/+4That would be amaaaazing.
- xthpsgodx, on 03/06/2009, -0/+4Also Final Fantasy VIII.
- Schralpy, on 03/06/2009, -0/+4I'm with you, as an adult who plays the game, its tough to get excited about another Fall Out Boy song.
- mabsark, on 03/06/2009, -0/+4"erm, the beatles had a lead guitarist (harrison), rhythm guitarist (lennon), bassist (mccartney) and drummer (starr). that's two guitars."
Lets see, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass guitar. Thats 3 by my count. - Findeton, on 03/06/2009, -1/+5I wonder why I was dugg down?
- kinseyincanada, on 03/06/2009, -1/+5very clever of them to release it on 9 9 9, which was a very important number to Lennon.
- ldkronos, on 03/06/2009, -0/+4But at the same time, a lot of people like rock band but aren't very good at it. Even if it ends up being a bunch of songs that aren't very challenging, there still would be a huge market that will love the game. But I have a feeling they'll get a decent number of challenging songs in there anyway.
- bryantee, on 03/06/2009, -0/+4I disagree. I can think of some great songs.
- Brasky, on 03/06/2009, -1/+5Oasis is overrated.
- DarkStar3333, on 03/06/2009, -0/+4LOL, theres a good chance it will be in one way or form. Considering Harmonix has allready stated that RB is more of a platform then a title it has a high probability of happening.
"Not willing to discuss" and "we will not support this" are not the same thing. Lets keep in mind that you could not technically transfer tracks from the AC/DC game but they packed in a download code to pull them from the Rock Band store.
They will do the exact same thing here, once you buy the game and punch in the code all of the beatles songs on the disc will be available from RB2 as DLC.
If you think Harmonix is going to do anything different your kidding yourself. - solittledeserve, on 03/06/2009, -1/+5Does it come with drugs and wigs to fully recreate the experience?
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 03/06/2009, -1/+5Seriously, voteobama? I can't figure out any way to describe how inane that is.
