This made winning the gold cup in Mario Kart for the n64 to be so gd frustrating. You'd use a super mushroom then get IMMIDIATELY passed on a straight away! And if you were playing 2 player with ai, whoever fell behind was guaranteed to be in 8th due to all of the ai catching up to the first place player. I'm convinced this is where "If you ain't first, you're last" was taken for the Ricky Bobby movie.
