How about checking out gamer scores or looking online at our blogs (Which is how we are even on this list to begin with) to see our knowledge of gaming before assuming we are NOT gamers. I don't understand why people have to jump to the negative when they see an attractive female.
Marketing Coordinator simply means that I got my start in the INDUSTRY (and yes, I have and do work in the industry.. I'm not just a blogger/journalist) with Mythic. Since then I have been a consultant on numerous MMO games. I also am Event Director for Video Games Live. I have been gaming since the age of 4. Started with my Atari 2600. Moved onto a 3DO system, Commodore 64, Tandy Computer and then only my Ps2, Xbox, Wii, DS, PSP, Computer .... the list goes on.
Just because a girl isn't a competitive gamer who goes around competing in MLG, CGS or other pro-gaming championships, doesn't mean we aren't gamers.
Oh and just for the record: Battle Toads, a game that originally came out in the early 90's and kind of looks like a cross between TMNT and Earthworm Jim but was SUPER hard to beat! I remember that it was an arcade at my mall back then and then I THINK we had it on our Gameboy but it may have been for the SNES. I'm not 100% sure.
Now, what other games do you want to talk about? Chrono Trigger? Final Fantasy? Metroid? Doom? Bioshock? Gears of War? World of Warcraft? And I don’t know if Morgan Webb got a different makeup artist or what, but her face has been looking less skeletal lately (which is a plus). But anyway, she definitely knows what she’s talking about and that comes through.
It kind of sucks that they don’t use Brett Butler more often, because she seems like a real person and gamer and not a communications major who has played a bit of viva pinata.

And, granting a coveted title like gamer to someone...well, some people take that seriously. For some reason. I don't know. It elevates them from being a "normal person that plays games" to a "gamer".

My guess is - since not many guys actually game face to face with girl gamers much, conceptualizing that a girl might be kicking their ass from the other side of the rocket launcher/whatever in that FPS/MMO/etc might be hard to accept (especially given ego insecurities some guys have). Guess that comes from the isolation inherent with singleplayer gaming or something.
I guess it does take a bit of a leap of faith for us guys but c'mon. The math is straightforward. 5 billion people millions of consoles/PCs, Some percentage have to be female, right? Stereotypes in a historically male dominated medium probably dont help matters though :(
Course a lot of people used to think only nerds game too. Opinions change. These gamers are just at the front of the wave changing those opinons, lets be happy for it! :P - etgoboom, on 07/18/2008, -0/+1who?

But the first sentence in the article was dead on. "Any girl can throw up a MySpace picture with a controller in hand and claim to be a gamer"
Kristen Hold is the host of a show about videogames, but even the writers can't make her sound like she knows what she's actually talking about other than reading what they wrote for her.
The Frag dolls are employees of Ubisoft (look it up)
Becky Young = Marketing Coordinator (is that canadian for gamer?)
Jade Raymond = I am willing to bet all of my consoles old and new, that she didn't get to where she was by being an excellent programmer. She's hot. She got to being lead producer by being hot. She had all of those magazine and TV interviews for Assassin's Creed because she was hot.
If any of these ladies even know what a battle toad is then I'll be impressed.
