- chicagojack, on 06/22/2009, -6/+33Mortal Kombat needs more respect as a top 25 video game of all time
- Fhwqhgads, on 06/22/2009, -0/+20The series peaked at 2, the rest was downhill from there. The graphics, animations, and sounds of 3/ultimate/trilogy were garbage compared to 2.
- ron7852, on 06/22/2009, -12/+32Street Fighter > Mortal Kombat
- lamiaconfitor, on 06/22/2009, -1/+20MK 1,2, and 3 everything after that sucked ass. the largest rip offs were the licensed games subsequent to that.
- bakaoni, on 06/22/2009, -1/+15Bonestorm. And it paled in comparison to Lee Caravello's Putting Challenge.
- Sabin, on 06/22/2009, -1/+14You should get your hearing checked.
- stvanchimo, on 06/22/2009, -1/+12BUY ME BONESTORM OR GO TO HELL!!
- itsthehumidity, on 06/22/2009, -0/+11I always played Liu Kang in MKII on Sega Genesis, because his moves were all roughly the same combo and almost unstoppable.
Low Kick hold 6 seconds = bicycle kick
Forward Forward High Punch = high fireball
Forward Forward Low Punch = low fireball
Forward Forward High Kick = flying kick
(Close) Down Forward Back Back High Kick = DRAGON FATALITY ***** YOU SUB ZERO
And I can remember way too many combos of other characters, unfortunately. - Bitties, on 06/22/2009, -0/+9Wasn't BloodStorm a made up video game in The Simpsons?
- RumpleForeskin3, on 06/22/2009, -3/+12I want to buy a 3DO again just for Way of the Warrior
- inactive, on 06/22/2009, -0/+9Halo3 is a Wolfenstein 3D clone. :P
- jaredh999, on 06/22/2009, -0/+8Man, I must have dropped $50 bucks at the arcade playing Time Killers
- YouRookies, on 06/22/2009, -0/+8Kids are pussies these days. Back in the arcade days we never complained about anything being cheap. We just adapted to the game. We had to man up and win because we only had that $10 that our parents gave to us.
Nowadays on SF4 XBL, all you hear is "quit spamming fireballs!", "stop throwing me! Is that all you know?!!"....*Disconnect* - PVanderVossen, on 06/22/2009, -1/+8Never heard of these games, I guess thats the point.
- ToxicTexan, on 06/22/2009, -5/+11Are these real? Never seen a single one of those.
- reyoo30309, on 06/22/2009, -1/+7Rayden?
The game has a acid spiting lizard ninja.
Also, I get tried of every early fighting game being called a "street fighter rip off" same things goes for free roam sandbox games.
Just because a game starts a genre does not mean all games that come after it that belong to that same genre are rip offs.
If that were the case would still refer to Halo3 as a Doom clone.
In these cases they all took many of the things that made MK unique, like... being a ultra violent fighting game with digitized real life models and even some going far enough to out right copy characters, combos, and fatalities. - crichton101, on 06/22/2009, -0/+6In the arcades I went to if you spammed, someone like me made a point of doing it right back to you. did that once in a Virtua Fighter 2 match, the guy just used punch and the first round and pushed me out of the ring, so I did it back to him the 2nd round. He didn't do it again and we had a normal match.
- copypastry, on 06/22/2009, -1/+7OMF 2097.
Kicks ass. - MrZaiko, on 06/23/2009, -1/+7And Street Fighter's story line is any better????
- loneraver, on 06/22/2009, -0/+5There is one missing from this list, Expect No Mercy. It was based to be a tie in for a crappy direct to video movie. The only thing it did right was the over the top fatalities.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGF427Qh2wg - reyoo30309, on 06/22/2009, -3/+8I hate the hold back to block mechanic. I could understand why they might have done it in street fight because most characters had some sort of projectile attack and controllers had fewer buttons back then.
But now all it does is serve to slow down the fight, I like to keep close and apply pressure.
And street fighter has notoriously hard special combos.
And a Fatality is not stupid. - Doomsan, on 06/22/2009, -0/+5All of these games reminds me of the super hyped games that Gamepro showed back in the 90's, a lot of Jaguar, 3DO and other consoles that never got it right.
- MRintheKeys, on 06/22/2009, -0/+5Unrelated but I liked Shoalin Monks.
- ScottyMo, on 06/23/2009, -0/+5I loved that game.
- ATH025, on 06/23/2009, -0/+5Just because a game is a gory fighter doesn't mean it's a mortal kombat rip-off. Half of those games had nothing to do with mortal kombat other than being a gory fighter game.
- vorda, on 06/22/2009, -1/+6Time Killers FTW!! I wanna play that stoned!
- MrLeo1984, on 06/22/2009, -0/+5I like how in that commercial, Santa shoots the game cartridge into the console via a shotgun (if I recall correctly). Can't get more extreme than that.
- inactive, on 06/22/2009, -1/+6So what you're saying is, you suck at fighting games, and want the moves handed to you by button mashing? :P
- kiffar, on 06/22/2009, -0/+5Oh man War Gods was ***** terrible

Dugg for that. - m1nist3r, on 06/22/2009, -0/+4Anyone play Pong Kombat? That game was the balls.

- Elranzer, on 06/23/2009, -0/+4Morta Kombat (movie) > Street Fighter (movie)
- Wolfbeta, on 06/23/2009, -0/+3Bio Freaks was around the time of Mario 64 from what I remember. Buddy of mine owned a copy. Time Killers I played in the arcades. I've been trying forever to remember what that game was called.
- Agrajag, on 06/23/2009, -4/+7correct opinion.
- reyoo30309, on 06/22/2009, -0/+3Chances are they left out a lot of clones, its a long list.
- bakaoni, on 06/22/2009, -4/+7Rip offs of a game that ripped off SF2?
Face it, they all suck. Rayden? Japanese people around the world do a simultaneous /facepalm over that. The 'mythology' of the game is just silly and the gameplay is nonsensical. The ripoffs are just a different flavour of suck. - reyoo30309, on 06/23/2009, -0/+3Street Fighter has so many storylines, who knows which one he is talking about.
But thats beside the point the, they are both fighting games. I really don't care what the storyline is. - Elranzer, on 06/23/2009, -0/+3Shaolin Monks was basically MK2 turned into an adventure game.
- ScottyMo, on 06/23/2009, -0/+3Lovely spam, wonderful spam!
- reyoo30309, on 06/23/2009, -0/+3I rather play tekken a even more satisfying game of rock paper scissors. (imo)
I while back I got to play something called "Kwon ho" which was like tekken only it had a block button.
Here is a video of it purely for the sake of nostalgia.

Press UP to "Tell Me More...!" - audiorage18, on 06/23/2009, -0/+3Trying to compare Mortal Kombat to Street Fighter is fail.
- dafragsta, on 06/23/2009, -0/+3For button mashing, nothing is better than Soul Calibur. Two players who are good at Street Fighter are pretty much engaging in one of the most satisfying games of rock paper scissors ever. Nothing compares in fighting games when playing someone who's actually good at SF. Sometimes it just comes down to who screwed up their special and thus leaving an opening for a good combo.
- deeboe, on 06/23/2009, -0/+3Buy me Bonestorm or go to hell!
- Csaliture, on 06/23/2009, -0/+2They are real. I owned bio-freaks and war gods. Bio-freaks was actually pretty fun. Not something I would do much reminiscing about, but it was fun to tear peoples arms off and throw them into a giant cheese grater when I was 13.
- momedefome, on 06/23/2009, -0/+2Dug for WAY OF THE WARRIOR , that game kicked ass!!!!
