- Webnower, on 01/26/2008, -2/+122As was said in the comments on Kotaku, they better not be spending all their time on the tech and end up giving us only 6 hours of gameplay. I really don't want to be disappointed in LucasArts. Again.
- LLamaStar, on 01/26/2008, -1/+83Truely amazing work on the tech side. I hope they match it with story and design.
- awesty, on 01/26/2008, -2/+80I hope they have a free play mode where you can spawn a bunch of storm troopers and crates and just throw them all around breaking everything in sight.
- Elliuotatar, on 01/26/2008, -4/+59So if this guy is Darth Vader's secret apprentice, why is he kicking the ***** out of storm troopers instead of the rebel alliance?
- Contrast27, on 01/26/2008, -1/+55I like it when they hold hands.
It's like they're there for each other. - Moosebri, on 01/26/2008, -3/+47He's a SECRET Apprentice. Apparently even the Emperor doesn't know he exists. SO he's probably in Survival mode since all the Jedi are being hunted down, with the exception of Vader and Sidious. The troopers will shoot assuming he's Force Sensitive, under an expansion of Order 66. His loyalty is to Vader, not to the Empire. Makes perfect sense.
- Jacob3d, on 01/26/2008, -1/+44Man I hope they add the ability to dismember Storm Troopers! Wonder how the A.I. would react to that :)
- pathy, on 01/26/2008, -2/+43The Wii game will be nothing like this one.
- Velnich, on 01/26/2008, -3/+42What's this? A starwars based game I might actually want to own?
- detales, on 01/26/2008, -2/+39This game looks to be what modern scientists would call "***** A."
- pathy, on 01/26/2008, -1/+34With death?
- 4eloBek, on 01/26/2008, -17/+45not for pc? not my cup of tea then.
- inactive, on 01/26/2008, -1/+27I don't know. I hope it's not gimmicky. If every bad guy is going to immediately grab another bad guy, that could get old fast. They're supposed to be storm troopers, not glue people. I'm just afraid that those 3 physics aspects they showed are going to be the only interesting thing about the game. Meaning after a few hours I'll be over the novelty already.
The wood splintering looks cool, though. - thankyousir, on 01/26/2008, -0/+23I find your lack of faith disturbing...
- Sawta, on 01/26/2008, -3/+26Definataly an interesting video, and I'm very impressed by the team for getting all of those different variables to interact with each other so well, however, the thing that bothers me is this: often when I see video's for upcoming games that tout all of these new features that they are incorporating, it seems like the game always fails to deliver with fun game play.
Sure, it may have a pretty UI, or you'll be able to hear the enemy coming more easily, but if the game lacks direction or has uninteresting story lines, no amount of features will keep you hooked into it. An example of this is when one of the people they are interviewing mentions that you will never have the same experience twice when force pushing/rag doll'ing people around. Is this something that would be easily noticeable other wise? Am I going to play the game and say something like "Well thank god I never saw the same stance from that enemy twice! So worth the price!".
I hope that the game does well and is entertaining, however, if you blow your entire budget on one or two gimmicks and don't focus on anything else, people tend to get bored with it fairly quick. I'm not trying to accuse this company of doing that necessarily, but I did find it some what troublesome that they did not go into detail about any other aspects of the game. - rpi22, on 01/26/2008, -6/+28Sick!
- BedPost, on 01/26/2008, -0/+21I would like to subscribe to your newsletter.
- KaiUno, on 01/26/2008, -2/+23The lure of the lightside is not to be trifled with young padawan.
- wddwmmandalore, on 01/26/2008, -4/+24I nearly ***** my pants when I saw him cut the trees him half.
- scottstevenson, on 01/26/2008, -1/+21Better video quality here: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/29964.html
- Destinatus, on 01/26/2008, -1/+19I want to throw some ewoks through windows. I'd feel bad for the little guy, but it'd be worth it.
- Spuy767, on 01/26/2008, -0/+16When those two stormtroopers were holding onto eachother, they looked like a synchronized skydiving team.
- herebejames, on 09/17/2008, -0/+15sadly not, there is a wii version coming but the version they ship for it will not be the same as the ps3 & 360. the wii just cant operate at the level required - which is a shame, because i want the graphics & simulations, yes, but WITH a wiimote. i dont care how many axis a ps3 controller has, i still cant hold it in my hand like a lightsaber...easily
- Jadhar, on 01/26/2008, -0/+14its a TECH demo chill
- theodenking, on 01/26/2008, -1/+15Because people often get dismembered with the Force in school shootings?
- sr3yas, on 01/26/2008, -0/+12Ye, death is a common side effect of mortal wounds
- emomakesmecry, on 01/26/2008, -6/+18My sentiments exactly. It feels like LucasArts are leaving their main fanbase out in the cold with this release. WE are the ones who made them the company they are by purchasing games like Dark Forces, The Indiana Jones games, and Sam & Max. Shame on you, LA.
- Synn, on 01/26/2008, -0/+10It is your cup of tea...you just don't like the cup.
- sevenslashfour, on 01/26/2008, -2/+12Uh-ohhhh, looks like KOTOR has some competition ;)
This game looks like it'll be amazing. I can't wait. - digitalvibe, on 01/26/2008, -3/+13Hope this game comes to PC!
- inactive, on 01/26/2008, -0/+10Although it looks good, and no way to tell until it comes out, but it looks repetitive, new scene, stormtroopers, clear stormtroopers, next scene, stormtroopers, repeat the process... Im not seeing anything in these clips that looks different.
- maxsunset, on 01/26/2008, -1/+11not gonna happen. There is a damn good reason we havnt seen a "lightsaber simulation" yet on the wii, I dont think the motion sensing tech is quite there yet. IN any case, you are not going to see all the fancy tech shown off in this video on the wii, if there even is a wii version; it simply cant handle it.
- GeorgeClayton, on 01/26/2008, -0/+10http://www.gametrailers.com/player/29964.html
I prefer gametrailers; much better bandwidth & always the best quality available. - vdog, on 01/26/2008, -2/+11According to Wikipedia, it's coming to the PS3, 360, PS2, PSP, Wii, DS, and the N-Gage. What possible reason could there be for not doing a PC version?
The forum has a 103-page, 1541 comment thread on the matter, but since LA don't read it, you've got to tell them how you feel about it here: http://www.lucasarts.com/company/contact/ - DavidGX, on 01/26/2008, -1/+10Yeah and how do they do the broken glass? Either make pre-broken pieces and swap those out with the orignal piece at the right moment so it breaks the same way everytime, or they remove the original piece and throw a crapload of tiny pieces and around regardless of how you broke the glass. This actually allows the glass to break the exact way and with the exact number of pieces in the exact place depending on where and how you break the glass.
- DavidGX, on 01/26/2008, -0/+9NOT made/run/hosted by sony this time, please.
- keviniskool, on 01/26/2008, -1/+10Wilhelm Scream
- emomakesmecry, on 01/26/2008, -2/+11Knowing LucasArts and their fantastic storytelling, it will fit in with the story. Don't worry.
- maxsunset, on 01/26/2008, -1/+10dude, crysis was not the first game with physics based destruction. However, the DMM they talk about here has yet to be in any game.
- badwithcomputer, on 01/26/2008, -1/+10*comically rubs eyes* did you just say n-gage? is it coming to game gear also?
- maxsunset, on 01/26/2008, -0/+9I second that. I have high expectations for this title, and I really hope they can deliver on the game front. I also hope they dont try and overachieve on the tech side, I dont want an action game that could be sweet but gets bogged down by fancy technology (I felt as though Mass Effect has this problem- as excellent as the game is, I feel like it BARELY runs smooth enough to play), as excited about that stuff as I am. Push the limits sure, but make sure it plays well, otherwise the tech is all for naught.
- kubedawg, on 01/26/2008, -0/+8This is the first Star Wars game(well besides the Lego version ^_^) that I have ever been truly interested in playing. I cannot wait to play this!!!!!!!
- joshtj, on 01/26/2008, -0/+7The engine might be sick, but I wasn't that impressed with the results beyond the technical side of things. I hope it gets polished.
- Moosebri, on 01/26/2008, -0/+7a Wii version was announced in September. According to sources, it will be a dumbed down version of the physics engine. It will not be as powerful as the other games, but it will be based on it. It looks like they have a completely different development company working on the game for the Wii. It's called Krome Studios, developing for the Wii, PSP, and PS2

I think this will be the first time that the Wii limitations have become a real problem for me. I haven't seen the Wii version yet, but that trailer is for the version that I want to play. I might have to finally choose an alternate system for this game. - LittleDas, on 01/26/2008, -0/+7The wii version doesn't actually have DMM or Euphoria, so yeah.
If it runs at a smoother frame rate that's because it's not even doing the hard stuff - DarkoKun, on 01/26/2008, -2/+9Well enjoy holding your wii mote like a light saber. I rather have a game shown in the video than hold my wii mote and settle for a downgraded game. I will be getting this for the 360.
- inactive, on 01/26/2008, -0/+7Don't think they will considering they are trying to market it to as broad an audience as possible and if they had disembowelment in the game, Fox News would have a ***** field day and blame any future school shootings on the game.
- ManoforceIII, on 01/26/2008, -0/+7oh...ok sorry Mr. i know how to properly hold a lightsaber. Tell me... how many lightsabers have YOU been wielding lately?!
- pathy, on 01/26/2008, -5/+12I think the idea is even if you do only get 6 hours, you can just keep playing those 6 hours over and over...
- TheTaoOfBill, on 01/26/2008, -1/+8Maybe on your ***** ass PC
