They buy up good studios, throw lots of money at them to crank out regurgitated ***** on ridiculous timetables, and they call it successful if they recoup development costs, all while killing any hope of new and inventive games. THAT is why people hate EA, not just because they are big. Pull your head out of your ass. EA getting broken up would be a great thing for the games industry because then it would force more competition and innovation into it. I can't say the same for Activision. They may be bigger (even though that only happened when they recently merged with Blizzard) , but they don't shovel ***** nearly as much as EA.

Uhh... I don't know who you've been talking to, but that is kinda the entire reason why we all hate EA. I love Rockstar games and want them to stay independent but your comment sounds anti-progress. Graphics take immersion to higher levels.
While I think everyone understands your point about AAA games costing a lot there are compromises. Indie studios can make smaller games and still make money. There are alternatives.
