- darny, on 11/14/2007, -1/+30FTA:
"Majority of men which is 45 percent are happy going head 2 head just a few times per week."
buried. and buried for it being written by a nigerian email scammer. - lucidguru, on 11/14/2007, -1/+23I always win over opponent sex... WTF?
- doctorfungi, on 11/14/2007, -2/+2399% of stories related to statistics have that comment in them. Try something new.
- V3NOM, on 11/15/2007, -2/+20The difference is in how many more male gamers are out there. Whether we try to do it or not, girl gamers are drowned out.
The comparative few girls that do manage to stand out from the rest are bound to be competitive if they got that far. - TKardinal, on 11/14/2007, -0/+12Seriously, what the hell does "desire to win over opponent sex" mean?
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -5/+15My experiences with my wife show that this is true.
- JoaoPe, on 11/15/2007, -2/+10When I play CS my main objective is to kill opposite sex
- ThankTheCheese, on 11/14/2007, -1/+7"WorldWinner...has recently revealed results of a random survey they conducted"
has anyone been to worldwinner.com? It's just online solitaire and puzzle games. Card games and puzzle games do not count -- nothing irritates me more than when someone -- male or female -- identifies themselves as a "gamer" when in fact all they do is play Solitaire and the occasional game of Donkey Kong through a SNES emulator their brother installed on their PC. - chingy1788, on 11/15/2007, -6/+1197% of statistics are made up
- cJw314, on 11/14/2007, -0/+5@ least bitches can use an apostrophe correctly. -.-
- Magiclad, on 11/14/2007, -0/+5I can't take this article seriously. This is a prime example where proper grammar would actually improve the intelligence of the person who wrote it. Please bury this.
- NonpareilNagle, on 11/15/2007, -1/+5Sticky?
- TrojanGuy, on 11/15/2007, -0/+4What kind of illiterate boob wrote that story?
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -2/+5Yeah, I know what you mean. I had a women tell me she was a gamer and after I asked what games she is into she said Pinball that comes with the computer her husband assembled. Needless to say I added "Oh, very nice *cough*"
- andshewas, on 11/14/2007, -2/+5That is simply not true.
- Subvexer, on 11/14/2007, -1/+4Survey reveals surveyors are finding it difficult to fill their time.
- jontuttle, on 11/14/2007, -0/+3This article was so poorly written that I couldn't finish reading it. I have no idea what this statement means. It is now common to see grammar and spelling errors in the mainstream media. This was not always the case. They've gotten lazy.
- BearinG, on 11/14/2007, -2/+5"...both men and women are driven by same force or factor which is desire to win over opponent sex and it was the number one response from both genders..."
What?! Which guys play online because they want to beat girls at games? I play to beat everyone.. not "especially" ladies. - 4eloBek, on 11/15/2007, -1/+4my man....only shag opposite sex
- PoopsMcG, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2This is one of those things us in the casual gaming industry say all the time--and yet it's still news every time it comes out.
- taintedzodiac, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2Article is from Worldwinner's survey. Any survey from a site that is almost exclusively head-to-head competitive games is going to have a lot of respondents that say they are competitive. Survey is skewed, buried.
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2Please, no disgusting references. We don't need to know.
- darny, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2People: This article is F'd. Don't even try to interpret it to be coherent.
- Darksaber11, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2Anyone who is surprised by this doesn't know many women.
- ruthless34, on 11/14/2007, -2/+4you win at the Internet.
- WhiskeyLemur, on 06/30/2009, -0/+2I'd want to see the original source material before passing judgment on the accuracy of this. My experience pretty my corroborates the article, but the damned thing is just so poorly written that it's clearly not a "professional" piece.
- cawpin, on 11/14/2007, -2/+4How about the fact that 45% isn't a majority?
- Unremarkable, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=-2597601680 ...
- Ohidjwae, on 11/15/2007, -0/+1"men and women are equally compared when it comes to their competitiveness in a competition."
Buried for being nearly unreadable. And that was just the end of the first sentence! - PicassoLSUS, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1Bwahah! That was great! Talk about giving new meaning to the "start" button.
- 4eloBek, on 11/14/2007, -1/+2You get what you paid for...
- inactive, on 11/15/2007, -0/+1opponent sex = teabagging
- ACountryCorrupt, on 11/14/2007, -2/+3I know about 13 women that paly HALO 3 with me online
- KeithBarrett, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1The conclustions may be correct, but it is hard to tell because this article presents some the results skewed; 61 percent of males is not "slightly" higher than 50 percent females when the overall percentage of competitive people is 73%. And there is no detail about the types of personalities in the survey, nor their motivations in gaming (what is it they enjoy about gaming? What games are they talking about?). I have no doubt that there are games one sex would enjoy more than the other - was that a factor?
I have to rate this as inaccurate. - artemisjade, on 11/14/2007, -1/+2Perhaps that's because it should read "Majority of the men surveyed"?
- andshewas, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1Who the hell wrote this article? A baby?
- MaynardJK, on 11/14/2007, -1/+2How would rephrasing it turn 45% into a majority?
- Scynet, on 11/14/2007, -2/+2I have to agree, there are gamers and then there are "gamers". Make the same study about CS:S/UT/C&C etc. and I'll pay attention. Until that, I'm going to stick with my personal view of female gamers which I've developed during my 10+ years in online FPS/RTS games.
Almost extinct and usually just men in disguise :P - lharth333, on 11/14/2007, -1/+1cool
- RaptorNv25, on 11/14/2007, -11/+11There are no female gamers.
- VictoryGin, on 11/14/2007, -1/+1The Ben Folds version of that song is incredible
- Harbz, on 11/14/2007, -0/+0WTF? The number one motivation for playing games is to prove the dominance of your gender? Who wrote this garbage?
- Commonwealth, on 11/14/2007, -0/+0I play Halo so if I run into a feeble woman, I can crush her into the ground with my manly and good Halo skills! Obviously.
- andshewas, on 11/15/2007, -1/+1I play none of the above. I do however spend a significant amount of time on my PS3, Wii, GameCube and DS. I don't understand why men insist there could be no lady gamers. Games are fun. I'm a lady, and I like fun.
- kurocrow, on 11/14/2007, -0/+0My motivation for playing games is to watch smokin' hot guys suplex things, does that count?
/thank you, RE4 - StrangeFamous, on 11/14/2007, -2/+1STFU "souljaboy"
- ruthless34, on 11/14/2007, -2/+1Fail
- RaptorNv25, on 11/14/2007, -5/+3Solitaire, Hearts and other assorted MS games coming with your Dell is not really what we are talking about.
- sovereign3, on 11/14/2007, -4/+2Maybe he meant to say "Majority of men which is 45 percent are happy getting head just a few times per week."?
