- canewediggit, on 01/11/2008, -5/+144"The Wii version of the game will include a two-player duel mode where you can show off your lightsaber skills against a friend in the same room." - oh it's on, bitches.
- Derelict267, on 01/11/2008, -0/+55"So should we show him Grim Fandango 2?" That's the question I'm asked as I walk into Lucasart's suite at CES, and everyone laughs. I don't laugh, because that joke IS NOT FUNNY it's like they showed me a kitten and then killed it.
Hahaha funny but it's true, Grim Fandango 2 would be awesome. - Dracusis, on 01/11/2008, -2/+34Lucasarts, come back to the PC!
We want Jedi Knight III or better yet, X-Wing 2, not some dumbed down console adventure. Your PC games were always so much better. I'll buy this, but I miss all your great PC games.
And that Grim Fandango 2 joke really, *really* wasn't funny. - aceallways, on 01/11/2008, -0/+25Does anyone know why this game isn't being released on PC?
- nunofgs, on 01/11/2008, -1/+25Stupidest decision ever. People still play and make mods for Starwars games on the PC. Way to alienate your best customers Lucasarts!
- inactive, on 01/11/2008, -3/+26No dual-wielding or double bladed sabers? COME ON!
- jewdiknight, on 01/11/2008, -5/+25I was under the impression that it was not coming out on the Wii, I am a very happy Star Wars/Nintendo fanboy now. It should come with a lightsaber skin for the Wiimote.
- MrsFisty, on 01/11/2008, -0/+18We used to do that with broomsticks when we were kids. Best damned technology of the day 'twas, especially the red and green electrical tape peripherals. Realistic bruising too.
- creep303, on 01/11/2008, -2/+17Which separates it from any other Wii game, how?
- nunofgs, on 01/11/2008, -0/+14Please reply under the actual comment instead of quoting the original message so you can whore some diggs by not having your comment collapsed.
- stigma15, on 01/11/2008, -0/+12Call me cynical, but I think this is a great premise thatwill fall short on execution. If it can at least recognize the difference between a swipe,a thrust and a parry , it will be a blast though.
- Dracusis, on 01/11/2008, -0/+11The drummer in GH3 on any platform couldn't hit a bus even if he was inside said bus.
- Sabretou, on 01/11/2008, -0/+11LucasArts is CRUEL.
- Dokument, on 01/11/2008, -1/+10The wii controller needs a golfball retriever attachment for this game. =P
- HolyChimp, on 01/11/2008, -1/+9"although you won't be able to dual-wield or have dual-bladed lightsabers"
Noooooo! /vader (and it's semi-appropriate!)
I always dual wield, it makes me twice as bad-ass! - dampcloth, on 01/11/2008, -1/+9"if you force push a metal door, it twists and deforms realistically"
I have never seen a door deform before so how can it be realistic - Vaelkar, on 01/11/2008, -1/+8Mmm. Boss Bottles.
- GentleFood3, on 01/11/2008, -1/+8Dual wielding is a thing whores do for money.
- SimianSamurai, on 01/11/2008, -1/+7more like Psyops than HalfLife 2
- counterplex, on 01/11/2008, -0/+6I'll take Tie Fighter 2 over X-Wing 2 any day. Jedi Knight III, however ... *drool* I still go back and play various sequences from Jedi Academy (it had dual-weilding and dual-bladed sabers for more fun) and I'd love to have an updated version with a new story line and great graphics thanks to the unreal, doom3 or source engines.
- Arramol, on 01/11/2008, -2/+7I really hope they nail the controls on this and we don't get our hopes up for a so-so game a la Red Steel. If they really get this one down, I'd have a hard time *not* calling it a killer app.
- mawginty, on 01/11/2008, -1/+6The Wii won't be able to handle the realistic physics nor the graphics. One developer is doing the PS3 and 360 versions and another is doing the PSP and Wii versions. I don't know exactly what that means for gameplay/game content, but as a Wii owner I'm mixed between cautious optimism and premature disappointment.
- nunofgs, on 01/11/2008, -1/+6Please please please don't make it into a "wiggle" the wiimote to attack thing. My wrists are still tired from Spider-man 3 / TMNT / Marvel Ultimate Alliance / Zelda / you name it
- jnosanov, on 01/11/2008, -0/+4ZOMG METAL DOOR!
- Hojohto, on 01/11/2008, -0/+4Please, Lucasarts hasn't done anything right since KOTOR I. Once they got it in their heads that they could slap a Star Wars logo on any old piece of ***** and anyone would buy it they haven't looked back.
- dukeochutney, on 01/11/2008, -0/+4Lucas cares about money and the best way for him to make the most money is to release on multi-platform consoles where the most gamers are. I agree though, its ***** theres no PC version.
- Morphinity, on 01/11/2008, -1/+4I'm officially pissed off.
- ridium, on 01/11/2008, -1/+4They should make a controller that looks like a lightsaber.
- bulgingbritches, on 01/11/2008, -1/+4Because you won't have people with two foot long light saber controllers snapping their wrists like they're rolling dice??
- DarkTrancer, on 01/11/2008, -0/+3Wasn`t there a developer preview on gametrailers or somewhere that showed the early version running on a pc?
- Darksoul, on 01/11/2008, -0/+3Sigh though I think this game will be awesome I agree with everybody else they really need to go back to the Jedi Knight series and make Jedi Knight 3 there was so much you could do in that game It was so much fun it seems that Lucas Arts is just ignoring us on this issue it was their best money maker why they don't come back to it I have no idea....
But again I think this game will be alot of fun I like the idea of the new force powers being so powerful and being vaders apprentice is even better. - Dracusis, on 01/12/2008, -0/+3KOTOR was an RPG, and they were good, but Tie Fighter or Jedi Academy would make for better sequels at this point in time. A new Tie Fighter or X-Wing game with today's graphics technology and surround sound would be awesome!
- Orion682, on 01/11/2008, -0/+3Ummm, you can't COMPETE with CUSTOMERS...
- JigoroKano, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2And neither will it be coming to the PSP which is even weaker graphically.
The three will be different games tailor made for their respective platforms. - petebot, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2KOTOR's no good?
- SantaPlausible, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2I hope they somehow fix the Xbox failure rate by the time this comes out. I look forward to eventually joining the rest of you in the 21st century.
- LJRod82, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2When are we gonna get our next Jedi Outcast game for the PC people? Seriously, with the FPS graphics engines that are out right now LucasArts could make the best looking Star Wars game to date.
- supermanred, on 01/11/2008, -1/+3Step 1. Duct Tape Wii controller to a lightsaber handle toy.
Step 2. There is no step 2.
Use this same process to create ANY realistic wii controller. Baseball bats, bowling balls, tennis rackets and more! - djAnakin, on 01/11/2008, -2/+4I can't wait for this door, but "although you won't be able to dual-wield or have dual-bladed lightsabers" = lame!
- Akaramu, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2So they can force everyone to buy the higher priced Next-gen copies, maybe the alternative third-party ports and avoid easier piracy for 6 months, then release it on the PC. Surprise, they operate on monetary incentive.
- opethlike, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2Two words, :SOURCE. ENGINE.
- Karyyk, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2And LucasArts had very little to do with KotOR really...
- addysonclark, on 01/11/2008, -1/+3There is nothing wrong with that sentence....
- volacide, on 01/11/2008, -3/+5Damn you're going to miss out on a ton of awesome features by going the Wii route. Isn't this the game that has some truly amazing destruction elements and other physics related enhancements in it? I recall seeing some ***** amazing footage of TRUE dynamically breaking wood for this game that made Half-Life 2's woody dynamics look like a joke.
- fbarbie, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2Its true, that is so NOT a funny joke. What a tease.
- HolyChimp, on 01/11/2008, -2/+4Ever since the Wii's motion controls were announced I've been saying "but what's the point without a star wars game?".
When this game comes out I can finally buy one and enjoy this and the few other Wii titles I've had my eye on. - dukeochutney, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1i think the problem with dual wielding is the 3rd person shooters don't integrate any type of penalty for using 2 over 1. thus it is always better to have 2 lightsabers versus 1. kinda like what happened in jedi academy.
- Dracusis, on 01/12/2008, -0/+1Bioware made KOTOR 1, some other company did the sequal. Raven Software did Jedi Knight II, I don't think Lucasarts have done much actual software development work in a while.
I'm not sure who's doing the PS3 or 360 versions of these games, but I know Krome Studios in Australia (http://www.kromestudios.com/) are doing the PS2 & Wii versions. Their Brisbane office did the PS2 Version, one of their other studios (Adelaide or Melbourne) is doing the Wii version, and it looks like they're also doing the PSP version. - volacide, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1To me most of the Wii control schemes have simply been a pain in the ass. The only people that have done anything right with the controls are Nintendo themselves.
I'll take a Star Wars game that's getting progressively closer to looking just as amazing it's motion picture counterpart with are more traditional and and proven control scheme. - inactive, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1It will suck and Wii owners know it. Even if the controls are fluid (which they wont be) the Gamecube graphics will make everything look like puke.
