- Azdak, on 07/10/2008, -0/+88Wow. EA is saying that a game it's producing is going to be successful and popular, stop the presses!
- mbmariogc3s, on 07/10/2008, -0/+85and if EA has its way, there will be 15 expansion packs for this game
- Haoie, on 07/11/2008, -0/+55Spore: Nightlife
That's purely for nocturnal animals, you know. - ZippyV, on 07/11/2008, -0/+29Spore: Underground
Worms and stuff... - petebot, on 07/10/2008, -0/+27Spore: Bustin' out!
- Risingashes, on 07/10/2008, -0/+25I'm really looking forward to Spore and have been for years- but the hype has long grown stale. Just wait for the game to come out- it'll either live up to the hype or fail totally.
If people would of just left it alone we might have been able to be pleasantly surprised. Now it's either perfect or bust. - keef06, on 07/11/2008, -2/+27What about Spore: Ikea?
- Tddupre, on 07/10/2008, -3/+26The magic about the sims is that it wasn't meant to be so successful or even a game. Spore has been hyped up for 5 or more years and is meant to be a "huge success".
- TyrannousDotNet, on 07/11/2008, -2/+24oh so EA is going to rape the franchise...
- Totz83, on 07/11/2008, -2/+19I got bored of The Sims after a week, I was really looking forward to Spore until now lol
- chedabob, on 07/11/2008, -1/+14Evolving furniture? WTF?
- vsujohn2, on 07/10/2008, -2/+14PS3 has a giant market segment? Are you kidding me? Thats a very weak point, and i just attacked it.... for massive damage.
- theragu40, on 07/11/2008, -2/+14god damn you people, it just isn't that funny anymore.
- dbhalla, on 07/11/2008, -0/+9You know "Spore : Pets" its just going to be a let down
- inactive, on 07/11/2008, -1/+9Shouldn't we be calling them Sporn-stars?
- Heavy, on 07/11/2008, -3/+10The creature creator made me rethink buying the game. Why you ask? O let me tell you ...
Lack of elegance in the creatures, when i tried to make a dog like creature it still walked like a biped. aka it did not move it's legs like 4 legged animal do. The _design_ of the animals are irrelevant, if you paid attention in the creature creator you where able to see that different part had different stats and cost. This boils down to what gear you like to have on you penis monster. Since the shape of the monster is irrelevant only the gear matters this for me ruins the game. And this cost associated is gained by "eating" things i presume....
More bluntly put: Spore gameplay is GRINDING for GEAR.. sounds familiar? It sure does for me and i have all the grinding i can ever stand! - Stemnin, on 07/11/2008, -1/+8Screw EA and Securom.
- SverigesKung, on 07/11/2008, -5/+12Three words : ***** Electronic Arts. Those ***** have ruined more franchises than Acclaim and they continue to buy what they perceive as "Hot" properties and then ***** them up. I say to EA, no sir, no, I will not buy your product or read about it. No programmer blood for Spore. Free Will Wright! Maxis forever!
- bigbadgoat, on 07/11/2008, -0/+6the sims is awesome?
- petebot, on 07/10/2008, -0/+6That seems to be the way it's been going for all games these days. If a game's not a 10/10, it's considered a failure by a lot of people.
- CrankyHippo, on 07/11/2008, -2/+8The new Sims? Great so i can look forward to a dozen expansion packs so EA can bleed me dry. AWESOME can't wait.
- Ablue, on 07/11/2008, -0/+6just release the game already!!
- BulletsforRingo, on 07/11/2008, -0/+5That's quite the interesting and random metaphor you've got going on there...
- theaceoffire, on 07/11/2008, -0/+5As a ps3 fanboy, I had to digg you up for massive damage...
I strongly approve of good PC, WII, and 360 games. They help inspire other game developers, and raise the quality of all games for all markets. - Depravo, on 07/11/2008, -0/+4Given that the games have the same creator, developer and publisher it's like Meat Loaf saying that his new album could be the new Meat Loaf album.
If Meat Loaf doesn't work for you, replace him with Britney Spears, Ben Folds, The Pet Shop Boys etc. The effect is the same. - latinjones, on 07/11/2008, -1/+5Great this means you'll be able to choose from a dozen or so expansion packs giving you COMPLETE control over your spore dick monster.
- caddyalan, on 07/10/2008, -0/+4We'll see. I felt that people liked The Sims because it was kind of the equivalent of a sitcom for video games. In other words, not the sort of thing for people who like science fiction and mature animation, but the type of thing which appeals to other people.
- brownspank, on 07/11/2008, -0/+4Spore: Round 3
- yogiincork, on 07/11/2008, -2/+6Grand Theft Spore
- Gamoc, on 07/11/2008, -0/+4GRVeee2:
Alright then, so why do so many films fail to meet standards then? Just because there is POTENTIAL to do something incredible in a field (ie; video games, movies) doesn't mean everything in that field is going to do it. - pikelet, on 07/11/2008, -0/+4Mmm, no. One of the reasons the Sims 2 has such a huge following is that it's basically about dressing up pretty dollies and making clothes/hair/homes for them. Creating every detail of their (your) lives. I don't think that audience will be able to identify with random aliens - looking at the Sims community, it's people creating reflections of themselves (or more often, who they wish they could be).
I don't think anyone really wants to see themselves reflected as a walking penis monster. I could be wrong. - Coffeedemon, on 07/11/2008, -0/+3Small things amuse small minds.
- Slade605, on 07/11/2008, -0/+3I'm hungry now.
- layzice, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2You are.
- MutatedNantuko, on 07/11/2008, -1/+3So, 100 "expansions?"
- Pronation, on 07/12/2008, -0/+2You better pre-order it now.
EA will show up in your sleep if you don't. o.o
You've been warned. - sirbeta, on 07/11/2008, -2/+4It was barely funny when it was new. Now it's just stagnant and annoying.
- o0joshua0o, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2In that case, I guess I'd better buy it.
- layzice, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2Nope.
- solidcube, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2I just wish the cellular stage had been net-propagated the way the rest of it is. That stage was one of the more fascinating things they've talked about.
- Akaziel, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2You know, I had my doubts. But now that I've played with the Creature Creator and found myself churning out 15 creatures in the past 24 hours? Yeah. Spore has me hook, line, and sinker. The only thing I'm having trouble with is determining what impact SCC will have on Spore itself. I mean we know everything is going to supposedly be interchangeable...but will the creatures I make in SCC transfer over to when I buy core Spore? If so, will I play as them, or will they just populate my world?
If it's the latter, my core Spore creature(s) is(are) in trouble. Most of the things I've made are nightmarish hellbeasts covered in tentacles, pincers, and spines. Oh....and the Cloverfield Monster. Everyone has their "Hey I wanna recreate X!" moment with SCC....that was mine. - tama00, on 07/11/2008, -1/+3im pretty sure the guy who came up with the sims is doing spore as the new sims. i just thought that was the idea all along...
- Kormiku, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2Yeah I quit WOW after my guild downed illidan. Meh, not going to do that grind again.
- wexmajor, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2Spore is meant to be the new The Sims? HOLY ***** MY MIND IS BLOWN!
- Gamoc, on 07/11/2008, -1/+3REvolving furniture.
- slyzxx, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1spore will do great. esp due the fact its for everyone.
- reuscel, on 07/11/2008, -1/+2Great, so I'm gonna have to make sure my creature takes a *****, empties the trash, goes to work, goes to sleep and showers? The Sims is unbearably tedious. I really hope Spore isn't.
- vsujohn2, on 07/13/2008, -0/+1What you said was Spore wouldnt succeed because its not on the PS3. The reason that is incredibly retarded is that not only does the PS3 have the smallest market segment of this generation, but tons of games have succeeded without relying on the PS3, PS2, PS1, PSP, etc etc. BTW EA isnt making this game, Maxis is. EA is publishing it. Will Wright has enough clout that he can make decisions as he sees fit without much influence from EA.
- Fremen93, on 07/13/2008, -0/+1I'm scared that there is too much hype for this game...any time you have this much hype for anything you set yourself up for disappointment. Having said that, I'm really excited about this game...this and the star wars force unleashed game are sure to be big this year.
- HorseloverFat8, on 07/11/2008, -0/+1One's coming out on PC and one's not.
One of them has music by Brian Eno, too. -
