- nhayes, on 06/11/2008, -11/+356this game looks so good it gives me a sporgasm
- Atomike, on 06/11/2008, -41/+234Whining Mac guys. Just consider yourselves lucky to get ANY scraps that fall from the PC table. If you wanted to drive on the interstate, why did you buy a scooter?
- iMiXiMi, on 06/11/2008, -3/+168Everyone should be able to play this.
- codyman, on 06/11/2008, -15/+168wait, no DOS version??
I know I've been neglecting to upgrade but my 486 has been so reliable.... - XtremeFluff, on 06/11/2008, -5/+124Spore MINIMUM Requirements: 2.0 Ghz Processor, 512 MB Ram, 6gb of free space and 72 hours of continuous play
- topbob, on 06/11/2008, -24/+1216GB? What happened to that idea of everything being generated on the fly, no huge files sitting on your computer?
HMM WRIGHT? WHAT HAPPENED TO IT? - apio, on 06/11/2008, -1/+87One spore per child
- loneBoat, on 06/11/2008, -19/+102Best PC vs Mac analogy I've heard in a while! :-)
- macbookhair, on 06/11/2008, -4/+74*hopes that the graphics are VERY scalable.. i want my 8800 to go to good use.*
- Oppslagsverk, on 06/11/2008, -3/+69Stop whining, start Wine-ing
- plizard, on 06/11/2008, -1/+66two words - electronic arts
- 1jaxstate1, on 06/11/2008, -13/+67I'm sure those specs will change once Spore gets pushed back another year.
- protodon, on 06/11/2008, -1/+53Remember the time he ate my goldfish, and you lied to me and said I never had a goldfish? Then why did I have the bowl, Bart? Why did I have the bowl???
- FatherG, on 06/11/2008, -0/+52It's probably for the sound files, possible textures. It's hard to create a sound effect/music track on the fly like that without it sounding like a bad Meshuggah cover-band.

DOS spore looks fun!! - eyepennies, on 06/11/2008, -8/+59What?! It won't run on my TI-88? Screw you Will Wright!!!!!!
- themarq, on 06/11/2008, -3/+53I concur... in fact I think I just Spored in my pants.
- pckbeta, on 06/11/2008, -6/+55Why don't you just take out your graphics card and put in a new...
Aww... nevermind.
Note: These graphics requirements are ridiculously low. Like circa 2002. - inactive, on 06/11/2008, -4/+53I comment with a witty reply
- m0tbaillie, on 06/11/2008, -2/+50Harddrive space dropped in cost tenfold? Your standard harddrive these days is 160GB+, usually bigger..
Unless, of you, you like the olden days of running games from the CD/DVD... - drakenlot, on 06/11/2008, -5/+49Apple wants you to get a new MacBook?
- jehan60188, on 06/11/2008, -11/+53no linux version?
- ninja0, on 06/11/2008, -12/+53Best. Analogy. Ever.
- raysaagar, on 06/11/2008, -10/+51I can't wait, sounds like immense fun
- zyklon, on 06/11/2008, -2/+42If Digg was a fight circle, and you were fighting with Wil, the whole circle would've just went "oooooooh!". You make me smile, sir.
- Sairynn, on 06/11/2008, -0/+40Well if you purchased that computer with the expectation of playing games on it, you clearly weren't thinking straight.
- aithk608, on 06/11/2008, -1/+40dude, it ain't coming out for ps3.
- Harabeck, on 06/11/2008, -3/+40PS3? Do you have any idea how clumsy this would be with a controller?
- Soave, on 06/11/2008, -0/+35So how long have you been waiting to use that?
- built2spill, on 06/11/2008, -2/+33"The NVIDIA GeForce FX series is unsupported under Vista." - damn...won't affect me, but, damn...
- macbookhair, on 06/11/2008, -1/+30I look forward to it.
- gzusfreak, on 06/11/2008, -12/+40Thank you so very much because I couldn't read that article! With its fancy english language and all.
- DreKor, on 06/11/2008, -3/+30I can run it too! Also, I have a large penis.
- jmkiii, on 06/11/2008, -2/+29OOOOOOOOOOOH!
- faatbuddha, on 06/11/2008, -4/+31Wait... I NEED Leopard??
- Coolmatt49, on 06/11/2008, -0/+26OH NO YOU DIDN'T!!
- ho0ber, on 06/11/2008, -0/+25That's still small compared to games these days :)
Unless you're comparing it to, say, Peggle. - matx, on 06/11/2008, -2/+24That was not a reply, that is a comment.
- TehChrisMeister, on 06/11/2008, -0/+22A 9500 isn't more powerful than a 8800 GTX
- lordtyros, on 06/11/2008, -3/+25yiff in hell
- seraph582, on 06/11/2008, -7/+28wait, Spore? Or am I in a Halo3 digg page now?
- NGliam, on 06/11/2008, -15/+35As a guy with a brand new PC with gaming specs that would have been "ok" 5 years ago, this makes me happy. Although, if Spore comes out on PS3 simultaneously I will probably skip the PC version altogether, but the lowish specs mean I can at least play it on this PC just in case ^_^
- mustafya, on 06/11/2008, -1/+21Well, that is actually not too bad nowadays. The last game I installed (Age of Conan) was a 32GB install that took three hours to install from two dvds.
6GB will be wonderful after that. - TheRealToma, on 06/11/2008, -0/+20or 'higher'...
- pckbeta, on 06/11/2008, -2/+22No spore left behind.
- zyklon, on 06/11/2008, -0/+19Holy *****, two zingers in one thread.
- Insanitation, on 06/11/2008, -2/+21"WINDOWS VISTA
- 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
- 768 MB RAM
- A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
- At least 6 GB of hard drive space
MAC OS X
- Mac OS X 10.5.3 Leopard or higher
- Intel Core Duo Processor
- 1024 MB RAM
- ATI X1600 or NVidia 7300 GT with 128 MB of Video RAM, or Intel Integrated GMA X3100
- At least 4.7GB of hard drive space for installation, plus additional space for creations.*"
And people complain that Vista uses to much RAM!? - asspants, on 06/11/2008, -0/+19From what I understand most of the textures and geometry (and if they went that far probably audio as well) in this game will be procedurally generated. This 6gb might mostly be attributed to cache space for the generated textures.
- dajuggernaut, on 06/11/2008, -6/+25no but you can find a cool game called Ubuntu at Amazon.com
but just so you know, you'll have to reformat your computer -
